[tscii:09c4799345]Mani Ratnam steps into Hollywood
- 11.08.2005
After showing his talent in Bollywood and Kollywood, Mani Ratnam is all set to wow Hollywood.

Films like ‘Mouna Ragam,’ ‘Nayakan’ and ‘Anjali’ were real gems that drew the attention of viewers not only in India but all over the world.

After he remade ‘Ayutha Ezhuthu’ in Hindi as ‘Yuva,’ Mani Ratnam took a break for a few months, but he has started to rack his brains for his next project now.

This time his work lies not in Kollywood or Bollywood, but in Hollywood. The budget for this film is by a prominent American company.

Mani has 3 stories in hand, out of which, one is to be made into a film. The shooting is to start next month and the main characters will be revealed shortly.

Our best wishes to the American producer and our talented Mani.

I think already maniratnam had made the modern version of Mahabarath with Super star in Thalapathy but it will worth to see how he gets this done. And on the same topic, Salman was planning to make a film along with his bro. Sohail The Legend of Ram. But he backed out with these jerks like VHP,RSS raising communal issue with Salman Khan portraying the main role.

Interesting. Just the other day in one of the blogs someone was wondering about making a Lord of the Rings kind of venture in India with Mahabharath being the theme, and someone like Mani rathnam handling it. Are our directors really getting these ideas from the net? :-) Considering the starcast and budget and the infrastructure involved I hope it doesnt meet the same fate as Marudhanayagam or Ponniyin selvan. Going with all established actors may not be a great idea. For a topic of this stature, care should be given to choosing the appropriate actors.

This will surely be a 100% flop. Common, who is ready up here to watch Mahabharath in theatre.
