A.R.Rahman has won the Best Background Music award for Rang De Basanti,

at the GIFA (Global Indian Film Awards) 2006.

He has been nominated in Best Music category for RDB.

The main awards will be announced in December first week in Kuala Lampur.

RDB sweeps GIFA awards....... 8-) ......movie of decade so far in Hindi....

RDB effect is still hovering around.....all the leaders are getting behind bars......i guess RDB rightly captured the justice-seeking-mood of indians now......... 8-) .....no movie, IMO has mobilised the entire nation like this...... 8-)

"Ummm.... Thanks to Rakeysh. And thanks to my team..... for putting up with me. (Smiles) (Long pause) Actually, there is a story behind this background score. Rakeysh gave me the print of the movie just a month before I was to leave for the US to an American movie. Rakeysh and I discussed it and decided that someone else would do the background score. We had almost decided on who would do it when I took a look at the movie. I ditched the American movie and did the background score for Rang De Basanti. Thank God for that"

i really felt Jatin-Lalit should have got the award........and the year's most favorite score was Omkara.... :D

omg.... how more down to earth can a maestro be.... goodness gracious.... ARR is too good!!! im proud to be his fan more becoz of this....ithuthan.....!!!! :clap:
