The lady with the flowers

- Sridevi

Yellow, red, white flowers arranged like a battalion
The lady sat with a big smile on her face
One was not supposed to note beyond the smile
At her colourless sari and patches of dirt.
There was no corruption in the flowers
One can buy them from anyone
The rule of the land, can’t be questioned.
The origin of the thing need not be bothered.
What matters is the end of everything.
The means – a waste of time thinking.
Better to buy flowers from these ladies.
If found in healthy packets
In westernized, modern shops
We would have to pay double.
Platforms, a source of manna
At cheap rates, encouraged by the thrifty
And careful people of double rules.

[tscii:9a1f3a36e6]I like how you illustrate the class distinctions and hypocrisy...

What matters is the end of everything.
The means – a waste of time thinking.

what a pithy summation...
a poetical philosophy, who wouldn't be swayed to buy more into it? :P (just kidding)[/tscii:9a1f3a36e6]
