I have spent a couple of years in Belgaum ( a district in karnataka sharing its border with maharashtra). There I had seen my marati neighbours making avla supari.
As per my recollection the amla is washed wiped and cut into peices, then salt is rubbed to the pieces it is dried in the sun till there was no water content left.
Hope this helps.
you can grate amla with ginger. and throw some salt. and dry it in sun. it's really tasty and good for digestion.
Hello tomato & deepali128,
Thankyou two, for sharing this.
