One has to look at how authentic the news is. While I am absolutely revelled in hearing news that Kamal's to collaborate with filmmakers outside his cabal, I have to take all of these with a pinch of salt. So the line up of filmmakers waiting to direct Kamal includes Shaji A Karun, Gautham Menon, Rajesh, Prabhu Deva. Kamal to reprise Mohanlal in Gadha?

The industry grapevine has it that actor Kamal Haasan may reprise Mohanlal’s role in Gadha, the upcoming movie directed by Shaji N Karun. The movie is being planned as a tri-lingual in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Rumours are abuzz that the director had to shelve this project and move on to his next, as Mohanlal backed out because of financial issues. A little birdie tells us that the production banner failed to pay Mohanlal’s asking fee and tried to negotiate. But the actor was not willing to compromise on his payment. Shaji had directed Mohanlal in Vaanaprastham, which made him win the National Award for the best actor.

Reportedly, Kamal recently came across the script and was highly impressed by it. Now, it’s a question of time for him to take up the movie. So, it looks like Gadha is very much back on the track and will start rolling within a few months. The movie, which is said to be based on the premise of dance and theatre art, is based on a short story titled Kadal, written by T Padmanabhan. There were also reports some time ago that the Polish musician Zbigniew Preisner would compose the background score for the movie.

Kamal Haasan meets Raj Thackeray




"We are old friends and I just came to meet him...shake hands," the southern superstar said.

Southern superstar Kamal Haasan on Friday met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray here.

Mr. Haasan visited Mr. Thackeray at his residence at around 9:20 am and also met his wife Sharmila and daughter Urvashi.

The 60-year-old actor was welcomed with a shawl and bouquet.

“We are old friends and I just came to meet him...shake hands,” Mr. Hassan said.

“He (Raj Thackeray) welcomed Mr. Kamal Hassan with shawl and flowers. It was just a casual meeting... there was no agenda behind it. They are friends, so he (Hassan) just came to meet him (Thackeray),” MNS spokesperson Sandip Deshpande said.

The meeting between the two bigwigs lasted for at least half an hour.
