(Ramky, I think you meant to say 'Jed, rather than Jeff...right?)

Cassidy, was a protective older brother. He never approved of Jed, and was out to prove to Elaine that Jed was nothing but trouble....

Cassidy had gone to the local bar where Jed was with his friends, drinking. He had spilled Jed's drink by mistake for which Jed beat him up severly. Thats when Elaine knew that Jed was very much prone to violence.

Within a week there was another fight between Jed and Cassidy, and in the scuffle Cassidy was killed accidentally. But Elaine never forgave Jed for that even though he didnt kill her brother directly.

"I have to go Jed, the kids are waiting in the car" Elaine said walking towards the van. "How's Jess?", he asked, as if he knew the truth about her.....

    (yes thx Mystic and Seagull)

"I have to go" she said firmly, "Please let me and my family be." She got into her car and drove off. But she knew she would have to protect Jess...from her very own father!
