    Top Five Albums
    IndiaGlitz [Saturday, November 19, 2005]

    1. "Ghajini" (Music: Harris Jayaraj): When music buffs found that there was no zing in the music of "Sivakasi" or "Majaa", songs from "Ghajini" were back at top. They are still a rage all over Tamil Nadu.

    2. "Sivakasi" (Music: Srikanth Deva): Shankar Mahdevan's "Vaada Vaada", a typical Vijay song, is a hot number.

    3. "Majaa" (Music: Vidyasagar): Vidyasagar's "Majaa" is an okay album. The song "Che Che" is a hit now mainly because of the song picturisation on Asin and Vikram.

    4. "Kanda Naal Muthal" (Music Yuvan Shankar Raja): The young man is back. By the time the film releases Nov 25, the album is expected to climb the charts.

    5. "Mazhai" (Music Devisri Prasad): There is nothing much to write about the average compositions of Devisri Prasad and the album is slotted at the fifth position.

i think ghajini song was made popular after the movie became a super hit,its natural. Mazhai had 2 great scores which i think it overtakes all the album listed.how come the writer classify Nee Varum bothe an average composition

By Aparna Nath, Chennai: Yuvan Shankar Raja's music for "Pudupettai" is simply outstanding and it is just a matter of time before it goes to the top spot again. For the time being, the Pongal trophy is Vidyasagar's.

The top five Tamil albums are:

    1. "Paramasivan" - Music director: Vidyasagar. Nothing exceptional but the audio is doing good business, especially with Rajnikanth releasing the album.

    2. "Aathi" - Music director: Vidyasagar. Another so-so album from Vidyasagar with the typical Kuthu songs, a must for a Vijay film.

    3. "Pudupettai" - Music director: Yuvan Shankar Raja; This album can be termed as one of the best from Yuvan. So far, the Yuvan-Selva combination has done wonders, and this time too it has not failed.

    4. "Kalvanin Kadhali" - Music director: Yuvan Shankar Raja; Not as good as "Pudupettai" but Yuvan has maintained his standard. The song "Eno kangal" sung by Yuvan himself and Sadhana Sargam is the pick of the album.

    5. "Sandakozhi" - Music director: Yuvan Shankar Raja; The film is a hit. Naturally the album also is a success. Not a great album from Yuvan but the song "Dhavanipotta deepavali" by Vijay Yesudas and Shreya Ghosal is a chartbuster.
