I think we ended up with something like 370++ ?
We made 373 and bundled out Lankans for 216. Robin got a five-for.
Here's the link to the match:
    http://www.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/W...26MAY1999.html

That's of course a great innings. From 100 to 150 he hit 5 fours and 4 sixes But (without taking anything away from Sourav), the straight booundaries were a bit short there. It was slightly advantageous for someone like him (who loves to dance down the track). I think that was the first and last ODI to be played there.

Moreover that match had a matching valiant contribution from Dravid. They put on 318 for the wicket, which was a world record then (broken by Sachin and Dravid later that year in Hyderabad -this is one match before the Gwalior match I quoted)

The match I am talking starred Sourav and Sourav alone:
    http://www.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1...11NOV1999.html
I quoted it because it is less known that the famous Taunton match and it is an example of Sourav carrying India completely on his shoulders when everyone faltered.

    Sorry for interrupting.
I was quite confused with the poll options !

"Sourav the best one day batsman till date
    - Sourav
    - Sachin
    - Yuvi
    etc

How it will be taken if I vote for Yuvi?

"Sourav the best one day batsman till date - Yuvi"
I think the poll should have been left out if the conclusion must be made based on everything !

    Sourav plundered the Srilankans.

Muralidharan had no clue at all , where to bowl .

Chaminda Vaas was running for cover

The last 10 overs were run feast .

Quite often the ball was sent soaring to stands

It was merciless assualt on the Srilankans .

I think we ended up with something like 370++ ?
I remember the match. When dravid got out and when sachin came to the crease, there was a huge roar. Eventhough India was plundering the runs, the fans wanted sachin to be in the think of the things. Even the commentator (forgot who) acknowledged that. Well thats sachin for you

Ganguly has managed 27 runs out of the two outings in the challenger trophy

I am sure the selectors would have been impressed

Sad state of affairs and it needs a monumental effort from him if he has to come back to International cricket !!
