athirampaLLi / vAzhachchAl, if you have not been before, are must-visit places. Each place has a beautiful aruvi. (The former is famous for punnagai mannan and the later is relatively less crowded and breath-taking).

Both places can be reached with little diversion from the Cbe-Kochi highway at Chalakkudy.

If you're adventurous, silent valley near Palakkad is another fantastic spot. Don't visit there on a rainy day as leeches abound that suck blood.

App_engine, will chk out details on athirampaLLi / vAzhachchAl. Not very adventurous when travelling with kids... Thanks a lot for the info...

BTW, we r planning for a 3-4 days trip...
