for many reasons, i dont want to vote and select one specific bgm as best, as there are many from different MDs mainly from IR & ARR. i shud have done the same in best album thread too, but i voted
only, best movies thread are eligible for voting as only movies seem distinctly different, not music. atleast the effect

Tune belonged to a song that got axed I believe, "Sollividu Velli Nilavee". The other songs are terrible (The title marching song and the unnecessary Neeyachu, naanachu - low point in the movie itself).
But the BGM was superb. When Amavasai is doing nasty thing and is having us laughing our behind off, IR's music is sober, serious, reminding us the actual nastiness of the situation, it helped with the tragicomedy feel of the film.

yes.. there is no duet between SR & Ranjitha.... but I like the title marching song & was searching for the audio (vetri varudhu vetri varudhu - by IR's chorus group Mano, Dheepan etc.)
Grouch idhai miss panniteenga:
Swarnalatha's... "dhinakku thakajum thajum thajum"
kuththu pAttayum.. rasikkira madhiri kudukkuraru Raasa
idhula oru line varum... "enakku sulur'u.. unakku melur'u" ... Manivannan's native is Sulur.

When it comes to popular and "Janaranjagamana Isai" Deva is the best by end of 80's and in 90's. He was instrumental in shaping up the careers of Vijay and Ajith. Deva is often depromoted and his contributions downplayed by other MD's fans in this forum.
