Another master piece from Nagesh:
Scene: Nagesh and Balaji arrive at Padmini's house and Saraswathi welcomes them.
Saraswathi: "Vaithi avaru {Balaji} nikkiraare, yen kaalu valikkudhe"
Nagesh: Patheera minor, neenga nikkirel, avaa kaalu valikkudham, umakku pasichha avaa sappituduvaa, vaango ulle pogalaam".
In the same scene, while alighting from the coach Balaji would be hanging his down; at this Nagesh tells him : "Ippave yen thalaya kuninjikireer, veliye varumpodhu dhane thalaya kuninjikkanum".
Another scene:
Senthamarai to Nagesh: "Inime minor gra pere un vaayila vara koodaadhu"
Nagesh: "Yen! minor major aayitaara?"

Yes. You love this man - You hate this man for being Vaithy.. Nagesh really rocked as the one and only Vaithy...
Though he comes late in the film, he completely steals your heart, particularly in scenes where he talks with Vadivamba. "Evlo periya nethi, adula evlo periya pottu..adu sari, koduthu vachava, irukku vechikira...." Many more scenes like this....
Madhanpur Maharani (who is that lady ? ) will say in one of the scenes, " I don't like that man..he is a Jackal " . That's a perfect word to describe his character.
Another Great Actor.

still I am confusing, why APN addaed this unnecessary scene (hospital-NT-M.Banumathi) in the movie.
Is this scene present in the Novel ????
Well, Karthik sir, as you know, TM is not a movie with the commercial elements necessary to make a roller-coaster entertainer and to satisfy the fans. Rather, it is supposed to be a classic in it's own way. So, obviously the characters & the story is important here. It's not NT who is begging for pardon in that scene, but it is Sikkal Shanmugam. That scene is actually an eye-opener for SS. And needless to say, our NT has done full justice to the character.
If a typical scene comes in films like Raja, Thanga Surangam etc., then there is reason for the rasigars to voice their concern.

It establishes Shanmugam's character very well.
He suspects that Mohana is no different from the rest and is trying her charms on Singapuram minor. This was based on flimsy evidence. Even when he goes to play the ThillAna in Thiruvaaroor, we have no reason to believe his suspicions have gone away.
But the suspicion seems to magically vanish at the end of the contest when he announces the title: "thillAna mOhanAmbAL".
This again is attributable to his mercurial personality and his artistic temperament.
The nurse scene is not bad at all. Sivaji does really well in the scene with the nurse.
The expression on his face when he has the thermometer in his mouth is
The way he says "enakkAga nee romba sramam eduthukriyOnnu.." is just beautiful.
The only thing which I don't like about the scene is the cliche that he sees Mohana in the nurse.
Note: he does not spurn only the nurse's perceived advances in the film. Jiljil physical innocent physical proximity is also deftly avoided by Shanmugam even in Azhagar kOvil.
That Shanmugam's talent is known even outside the world of traditional music. An obscure church choir organ player (possibly much older than Shanmugam) respects his talent so much that he speaks highly of him to his daughter.
But the daughter is able to size his character up accurately, saying that all he seems to know is to play the Nadaswaram and that is it.
(which is a strong lashing to the ego than the more soothing generalization: "kurai illaadha manushan Edhu jillu ?")
That these minor actions of hers are being misread by him is a realization that should have stung the suspicion-ridden man that Shanmugam is. Hadn't he suspected Mohana based on even flimsier evidence ?
I don't think this scene shows him in poor light. It shows him in flesh and blood as the hyperconservative man who gets a lesson that his talent does not overcome his other shortcomings. But his jealousy - which is the signature of his love - stays on even after he gets emotional in this event. That is a real characterization

This week Sun TV telecasts " Anbukkarangal", where NT plays a station master. That was a unique character for NT indeed.
Any interesting info about this film...????

Chinna Thambi (Sivaji) is a social worker and spends little time with wife Seetha (Padmini) or his brother Jaishankar. Nambiar and his wife run the only maligai kadai in the same area. They have a daughter Lalitha (Vanishri) and Nagesh is their helper. Nambiar cheats his customers by dealing in kalappadam. The villagers complain and Chinna Thambi catches Nambiar red handed. With his assistance, a new cooperative is opened. Nambiar plans CT's downfall. In the meantime, CK Saraswathy despises Seetha and uses every opportunity to deride her calling her a maladi, etc.
In the meantime, Jaishankar and Vanishri fall in love ... sorgaththil mayanggum mayakkam... and this is discovered by Nambiar who hatches a plan. CT initially opposes the union but Lalitha cleverly engages him in a debate and wins him over The marriage is set but not before Nambiar demands that the property is divided equally. Both Jai and Vani refuse to partition the pproperty and Nambiar's plans appear to have failed.
CT wants to send the newly weds for honeymoon, but Lalitha insists that the whole family goes as CT and Seetha have never had the opportunity to be together. The double duet ulagil irandu kiligal comes on now.
After the honeymoon and back at home, Lalitha collapses. The doctor is summoned and it is discovered that she is pregnant. Hearing this Seetha faints. The doctor attends to her and discovers she is pregnant.
Nambiar and CKS go on yaathriai to pray for a healthy childbirth for thier daughter (vere edhukku, soththa abagarikkathaan )
Both the ladies are admitted; Seetha gets suga prasavam while Lalitha's baby dies upon birth. The doctor also says that Lalitha will not be able conceive again and that her heart is very weak.
The doctor, CT and Seetha all decide to switch babies.
Two songs after that: pillai kali theera un annai vandhu sErndhaal and maathoora raamakka maappilai yaarukka.
Nambiar and CKS come back and are shocked to see Seetha minding and feeding Lalitha's baby. Attempts are made to split them but all fails until the baby infects pneumonia and is on the verge of dying. Lalitha, thinking that Seetha brings bad luck moves to her parents' house, much to their delight. The cunning duo confuses Jaishankar's mind and entices him to send a letter asking for details of the property from CT.
CT is shocked beyond words and instructs to gather all properties and lay them in the hall. He invites all the perusus and finally his brother and asks him to take his share. He keeps on asking Jaishankar to choose his half although all the property is laid out together. Only then Jaishankar and Vanishri realise that its either CT or the property. Jai chooses his brother but CT is adamant and wants to leave the house. Lalitha refuses to let them go and when they insist, she asks them to take away one more of their property....
Watch the conclusion at your convenience!
A thin string has been taken by KSG and spun into an interesting family yarn. Vanishri is excellent in her role while Nambiar and CKS excel as funny villain/villainess. Jaishankar
And finally Nadigar Thilagam. While most of the story telling does not require a great actor like him, certain scenes were absolute showcase for his skills.
Conclusion: nalla kudumba pada paarththa thirupththi. [/i]
