Its funny that the journalist or the critics do not take up this issue but put questions why a tamil film does not get selected for national awards and film festivals.
How can it make it if a proper certificate is obtained but no theatre wants to release it. If this trend continues, then indie films journey would come to an end. Immediate attention is needed here.

It was too preachy for me ! The main issue with Indian Indie cinema is just too many and filtering good quality ones becomes harder and harder. Every single NRI and Every single guy with good financial background wants to produce a preachy art movie about india's issue.

I am yet to see a single art movie (in recent times), which is light hearted and carries a good message. Edjampal Make a movie based on Abdul Kalam's Wings of Fire !! our movie industry needs a "LittleMaster82 Reset"

Whats the relation between a film releasing in theatres and going in for film festivals? It can happen in any order imo. You have a lot of films going in for film fests and national awards before its actual theatrical release. A good example is Aadukalam. The movie was officially released in theatres in Pongal 2011, but contested in the National awards along with the other 2010 releases. You also have Aaranya kaandam as another example. And I don't think this is an 'indie' film at all.

Looks like a hit in the making for Vishal. Suseendran only directed Rajapaattai at the behest of Vikram and it was not his story. Otherwise, he has a very good record. Good director. He was once writing a script for Vijay and this might be the one. Looks good.

Yeah, at the end of the Pandiya Nadu teaser, there is 'something' in the way Vishal slides down the wall to the ground which I can't pin-up.
I liked Suseendran's Naan Magan Alla, notably for its story flow, Aruldass, Jayaprakash and the climax fight sequence, and ofcoarse Karthi too during that foot chase sequence. For info : Vijay Sethupathi did a "guest role" in Naan Mahan Alla.

Listin Stephen along with Radika Sarathkumar is the producer of Chennayil Oru Naal. CON was directed by Shahid Khader an assistant of Rajesh Pillai who directed the Malayalam original 'Traffic'.

Listin Stephen produced both the originals Chappa Kurishu and Traffic in Malayalam.

Listin has also produced Usthad Hotel another super hit malayalam movie which also being planned to remade in tamil

Why is it that small heroes have their movies released on the announced date, but big hero movies always get delayed? In recent times take the examples of Karthi (remember Saguni delay and now Biriyani), Surya (Maatran was supposed to be for April 14th, then got pushed to October), Simbu (all his films), Jayam Ravi (Boologam shoot pannikittey irukaanga pola?), and Vishal (Madha Gaja Raja varavey illa, Samar got delayed and released).

If you look at the movies that have been completed and are waiting for release, we need not shoot any new movies for 2 years - avvalo padam mootai katti vechirukaanga. Why so many problems? It seems to be an issue only with big heroes - small films are in fact quickly completed and sold off, while big films tend to get stuck. There must be a common thread across all such films. It cannot be only finance issues.

I love the Telugu original, Ala Modalaindi even though I don't understand the language. The lead, Nani is incredibly charismatic that from thinking what an average looking guy in the beginning, at the end of the movie, I thought what an attractive actor.
Nithya Menon also has this charm that matches wonderfully with the character she was playing.

Unfortunately, I am not impressed by the trailer of Ennamo Edho though likely my opinion is coloured by loving the original. Gautam Karthik may be a good fit from what I have seen of him in interviews. The heroine from what little is shown in the trailer is pretty but does not seem to have as much charm as Nithya Menon. Prabhu in Ashish Vidyarthi's role should be good. I think that I also prefer the songs from the Telugu original compared to the ones seen on this trailer.

Yeah Nani is good & I fine this innocence in Nithya Menon's face attractive. This pair also did a Tamil movie right? The one with the song "Mazha varum ariguri".
The heroine is Rakul Preet. I have seen her in several TV commercials off-late. But just came to know from Wiki that she's been acting in movies since 2009.

Please don't mistake me, when I saw this movie Unbeatable (& trailer), thought Boologam trailer would have been awesome in these lines :

Unbeatable (Chinese) : a good movie for Kick boxing interests + has its share of emotions too (as usual, keep away if you don't like bone crushings & blood splatter)

Yes, the trailer looks quite good at the same time a bit noisy. Ashok Selvan in the trailer is just amazing (watch @ 49-53 secs). All his movements are cool and his face at the library is quite breezy. Quite a welcoming and drastic change after Villa. Kali + Ashok Selvan = must watch.
