Came across a sweeping statement made by a newbie hubber(??) in another thread accusing all actors except one not caring about the fan fights in the social media and they thrive on these fights to stay in lime light. Since that statement was backed up by solid evidences which that particular hubber is known for, I think it is my duty to counter it with mine.

Even during the recent twitter chat after Kaththi 100 crores, Vijay requested his fans to stop these fights and concentrate on social issues. Last night (July 5), Ilayathalapathy Vijay's big summer blockbuster in 2004, Ghilli, was screened on TV in a prime time evening slot for the umpteenth time. The film was again lapped up big time by the family audiences at home and was quickly on an unplanned trending phenomenon (#Ghilli) in Twitter. The TRP ought to have been high for this screening of Ghilli. For an evening just to unwind and relax before the start of the hectic working week, Ghilli is an ideal option indeed!

Fans were rejoicing the many mass moments of Ilayathalapathy in the movie, the awesome songs tuned by Vidyasagar, the chuckle-some comedy scenes and the roaring action sequences.

The second edition of the Behindwoods Gold Medals award function will take place in a grand fashion at the ITC Grand Chola, Chennai on the 19th of July amidst leading celebrities of the Kollywood film industry.
Apart from the awards for meritorious acting and technical skills, we have two other People's Choice Awards (Male and Female) powered by the Tamil cinema fans, who drive the industry with their undying support and extraordinary passion. The two People's Choice Polls have been online in our website from the 31st of May, 2015 with widespread participation from fans. Who will direct Vijay's 60th film?

Vijay is currently busy with the shooting of his 59th film with director Atlee and at the same time, discussions are on for his 60th film as well.

Buzz in the industry is AR Murugadoss or SJ Suryah might direct the film.

When Sify.com asked AR Murugadoss, he denied such development but sources close to the director said “AR Murugadoss is having a script which is actually written for Salman Khan (Hindi) and Vijay (Tamil). But it is unclear which version he will be commenced first”.



Mean time, we also hear that SJ Suryah is said to be in talks with Ilayathalapathy Vijay and the director has reportedly narrated a one liner which has impressed the Thuppakki actor.

Vijay and SJ Suryah have already worked together for the blockbuster film Kushi. Later they were about to join for a film called ‘Puli’ which was dropped and later remade in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan.

Sources also say that Vijay is also in talks with many other promising directors and we will the exact name soon.

Story:
Jilla is an out and out mass-masala entertainer. It is a story about a son and a father. Siva (played by Mohanlal) is a powerful don in Madurai. Siva brought Sakhthi (Vijay) as his son, as Sakhti’s father lost his life in a police encounter.
Since then, Sakthi hates police. But, circumstances force him to become a police officer. What happens next? Forms the rest of the story.
Artistes Performances:
Mohanlal has won accolades for his don’s role. Vijay has been appreciated for his all-round performance in terms of action, comedy, dance and emotions.
Although, actress Kajal Agarwal role is limited on screen, she added beauty to the movie. Other characters Soori, Poornima, Mahat Raghavendra and Niveda performed well.
Plus Points:
The chemistry between the father-son duo is the main highlight of this movie. One of the major highlights of Jilla is its background music, scored by Imman. The comic timing between the actors is perfect and emotional action laced climax is apt.
Minus Points:
The running length of Jilla is a bit lengthy and audiences feel that the movie could have been cut down by about 20 minutes.
Analysis:
The production values of this movie are rich and high. Cinematography is nice. Direction and screenplay by Nelson is neat. Jilla will be a long time entertainer. Camera work is decent.

Trade: Superb opening for Jilla, Disaster for Allari
Telugu states are still in Baahubali mania, big films have moved away to give enough space for the movie at the box office. But small films have dared and released even in Baahubali mania. Allari Naresh's James Bond and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Jilla have released today. Both the films do not have great buzz before the release to do any wonders.
However Allari Naresh fell behind Vijay in the race. James Bond had seen shocking drops even for the noon shows while Jilla had reported good occupancy in all the major centers of AP and Telangana which is very good for a dubbing film. The talk for both the films is also on similar lines. James Bond had got disastrous talk while Jilla which is already a super hit in Tamil has got decent talk.
Allari Naresh had got no proper hit after his Sudigadu. Going by the terrible openings, he immediately needs to retrospect on what is going wrong. Along with these films, two other films - Demonte Colony and Sahasam Cheyyara Dimbhaka also released but sank with out a trace.

Vijay- Mohanlal's much delayed Telugu Dub 'Jilla' has opened to a surprsingly good Response this morning across Andhra Pradesh. The film is a 40 Minutes trimmed Re-edit version with couple of Additional scenes involving Brahmandam and is only 143 Minutes short where as Tamil original is of 182 Minutes. Noon shows have been fulls in Several Major centres and opening is Very good considering the very moderate prices it has been sold at.

Vijay Jilla Telugu Review
Performance :
The main asset to the film was Vijay, he totally lifted the movie with his unique screen presence. considering his mass appeal , story suited very well to him.Coming to Telugu nativity, Vijay elevation acts will surely thrills Telugu audience, where they like to watch commercial films. Mohan Lal, undoubtedly showed his various style of acts with out any break. Mohan lal character was build on high scale and he handled well. Kajal Agarawal glamour added advantage to the film. Soori did his best for few laughs. Much needed Bramhi comedy & LB Sree Ram scenes wasted.
Technical Aspects :
Ganesh Rajavelu cinematography was good & he he captured couple of action sequences very well. Editing was very good, coz 40 mins Trimmed from original version which is the biggest advantage for the film. On whole Jila Telugu version Run Time is nearer to 142 Minutes, which is short and racy.
Music & Bgm :
Music by Imman was good but spoils due to bad lyrics. background score was apt & good. Thumbs up !!
Story – Screenplay – Direction :
Neason came up with a good commercial entertainer & with out any doubts he maintained a racy screenplay trough out the film. Emotional scenes are too good & also elevating the relation between Vijay & Mohan Lal was very good. Nothing to criticize director here , because Jilla is the perfect script where we can get all ingredients in right proportion.
Final Analysis :
Jilla is a Pakka Mass Commercial Entertainer, where we can watch easily once.

Mohanlal is a don like guy in Madurai area. He brings up Vijay his driver�0„3�0…4s son as his own after he is killed by a police officer. Vijay grows up with an aversion to Khaki and hates cops. The trend of releasing Tamil films dubbed in Telugu is a successful one in all aspects. Recently,the Andhra Pradesh box office witnessed a good opening for our Ilayathalapathy Vijay’sJilla(released in Tamil in Jan 2014) that was released this July 24th.
Though it clashed with 3 straight Telugu films, records clarify that Jilla had a good opening. This Telugu version was trimmed by up to 40 minutes, with insertion of few new scenes of Brahmanandam to elevate the nativity and relevance for the Telugu audience.

Vijay - Mohanlal`s `Jilla` has turned to be a Clean Commercial Hit in Telugu. The film was released this 24th July and had a surprisingly good start for a film which was an year and half old ( Tamil - Jan 2104). Jilla without much publicity was sold at a very moderate rates in AP and the Producers kept Nizam and released on their own. It has already fetched its Theatrical Price in AP in 5 Days ( Including today) and is estimated to have collected around 2 Cr Distributor Share with 3.5 Cr Apx Gross. This is the 1st Clean Commercial Hit for Vijay as Snehithudu (Nanban ) & Thupaki earlier although collected much bigger numbers but were sold at even bigger prices, ending as average ventures.

Thalaivaa is not as that big a flop as you project. It managed decent numbers in spite of releasing 2 weeks later than the overseas. You can check the same in the first page as well

Also, it doesnt necessarily mean every film that faces a problem due to political reasons has to be a hit. Baba faced similar uproar from PMK during its release. What happened at the end? The fans would've given an extraordinary opening but if the film is not upto the mark, it will end up as a loss. Doesnt matter who the lead is.. Vishwaroopam was a good film and contrary to your opinion, it is a commercial film blended with Kamal's nuances in film making. Hence it became a hit. Had Manmadhan Ambu released then, it would still be a flop too..

Kaththi and Thuppakki faced issues too.. But you carefully avoided it since they are 'Murugadoss films'.. When Vijay films dont do well, Vijay and his fans are the reason. When it does well, the director is the reason. Good.

FYI...Thalaivaa, despite a 10 day delay in release in TN, grossed close to 7.4crores in 3 weeks as per BW report that time. Compared to some other movies which also faced delays (much less than 10 days) and made 1/3 rd of this amount within the same span.

Forget delayed releases, this amount is more than the lifetime earnings of lots of normal releases of other stars.

I dont know why you are comparing an apple and orange here. Kamal's achievements are not based on BO records alone and we all know that. If you had compared the acting skills of Kamal and Vijay, we would'nt even bother to answer. We know our limitations. But here you have actually questioned our strength. So it is our duty to get the facts straight.

The BO data that we have is not the 'Madurai Guru theatre second day first show full. Hence it is a blockbuster' kinda proof but real solid proof compiled from sources which are used for years in the hub. If you have counter proofs to argue, feel free to share. A couple of days back we had reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay had extended his helping hand for the smooth release of Simbu’s upcoming film Vaalu. This honorable initiative by Vijay has amassed some great respect and accolades from some of the biggies in the industry.

Apparently producers like RB Choudary, Kalaipuli Thanu, Escape Artists Madan, AVM Balasubramanian, Five Star Kathiresan, Telugu producer KS Rama Rao are some of the industry giants to shower praise for Vijay’s noble act.

Producer Thanu who is producing Vijay's upcoming film directed by Atlee, has apparently gone on to praise Vijay as a real hero. We hear even the theatre owners are happy with a star like Vijay coming in support of his peer.

Simple.. The movies that you mentioned were released with either lesser screen count because of other biggie releases on the same day. Nanban was a remake of a film which had a glorious run all over the world. Kaavalan had political pressure from DMK, Sun Pics and Studio Green and was released with a very less screen count. Velayudham had to share screens with 7Arivu but still ended up as an above average grosser while the later was adjudged as an average fare because of the budget. Maatraan was declared as a flop because of the same reason. High budget and the price at which the film was sold based on the success of the combo with theor previous film Ayan. To be honest, both the films suffered because of that clash.

Regarding Billa 2, I dont want to comment on its BO verdict. You can take that Panchayath to the Ajith thread and discuss with his fans. All i can say is a 2 hour long movie gets more shows than a 3 hour movie and hence good numbers.

Nobody denied that Thuppakki and Kaththi had the Murugadoss factor to give us the extra boost to crash whatever competition we faced. But films like Ezhaam Arivu and Holiday too had the same factor. But didnt do anything extraordinary in the BO.

Just bcos some people idolize or admire someone and try to defend that person doesn't necessarily mean they have to be on his payroll. Not sure about your intention about the analagy around age, but you're right about being objective. Some people here go all out with their Vijay bashing agenda without any facts and purely based on "their" opinion or feeling about him...even though they don't know him personally. Good. I am remembering 22 year old Kamal helped Rajini's film Mullum Malarum to be completed and released. Recommended Rajini to many producers and filns. Kamal also helped out this man during Uzhaipali time black card from distributors. Even in recent times , when Rajini got attacked as Tamil traitor by nadigar sangam actors pracharam, only man who voiced support for Rajini. Direct competitor Ku help panravan Tamizhan da.

Ceeded,Krishna, Nizam [ Own release ] fared very well and secured break even status in weekend it self. After Raghuvaran Btech & Ganga, Jilla is the 3rd Tamil dub movie to get Hit status in 2015. One of his major mistakes back then was to remake many telugu movies, kindof shut him out of the market for a while.

But with his mass appeal and commercial versatility, it was a matter of time he made an impact in Tollywood.

Jilla's success is unexpected expecially releasing after 18 months, but a welcome one nevertheless.

I am sure, this will open his market up in Tollywood, his only weak spot.

Well said Cedy...that's what is one of his most positive traits....he has a balanced head over those shoulders. He has never come across as " I, Me, Myself" kind of character. Such a secure person as an individual and as a professional... Which is why even his fans can stand up against all hate ..he has just been growing with each movie and year.
