I saw the ingrediant "grated Khoya" in one recipe. Can someone tell me how to make Khoya. I know its a milk product.

Thanks!

No one knows?
Is khoya the same as Paneer?

After curdling the milk,u get paneer.
Khoya is different. It is made by cooking milk with constant stiring until u get solid.

Making paneer is easier than khoya. Hope this helps.

just mix some milkpowder with ghee in a fry pan. Add some milk to it and heat it till it forms a dough you have your khoya ready thre are other methods also like mixing the condensed milk with milk powder and then boiling it or something like that.

WHEW! Making Khoya was tougher than I had expected. I kept stirring & stirring 2 litres of milk & what did I get . May be 2 tablespoons of a lumpy solid mass! Whew!

Should I heat it a bit more so as to be able to grate it?

If you check in Indian stores, khoya will be available in frozen section.

I'm in India right now.

Will it be ok to make some Khoya & keep it in the freezer. How long does it stay that way? But I have a penchent for fresh food, u c. I like to make the ingrediants within just a few hrs from the actual usage.
