Hi all,

Since there are a lot many Indian hubbers living in US,I thought of opening a thread where we can let others know the name & address of the Indian stores we know...It might be useful to many who are new to the US,those who relocate within the country etc...

hey all,
To make the information meaninful and easy to retrieve, I suggest the following method:

1. we need 4 to 5 postors who will update this thread on a regular basis. That is, for states with names beginning A-H, Postor 1.
For states I-R Postor 2
For states S-W Postor 3 and so on.

This way, we can restrict the pain of running into all the old responses just to read the feedback for shops located in only one state.

I doubt if people are willing to co-operate but just my suggestion, I have seen enough threads where you need to read start to finish to pick out any useful information.

Pls add your feedback too...I have driven several miles to some stores and in the end found them completely useless.

Good suggestion H3w,

I volunteer to be poster 1....Anyone with info on states with names beginning A-H pls PM me...I'll post it in the thread...

Also, send in your comments as to ur experience with the particular store u refer...Only then it'll be of use to other hubbers... Just posting the address will not be of much use as the addresses can be found by using any search engine...Feedback abt the store is vital...:)

States with names beginning A-H:

H3W's suggestions:
Atlanta, GA:
Regarding Atlanta, I personally preferred the International Farmers Market(IFM) which has 3 branches in the city. The one in Peachtree Industrial Blvd was the most hygienic and had pretty much every item you will get in a deptmental store in India. You should be able to get all the ingredients for special dishes meant for spl occasions too. There is enough variety in pickles, spices etc. Its more hygienic compared to the one in Jimmy Carter Blvd, Norcross. Some items in one IFM wont be found in the others - My personal favorite was the huge yoghurt pack housed in a cylindrical plastic container, it says "fat free" but is definitely whole yoghurt and lasts several days, but I didnt find it in the other IFMs. Go for the one in PIB, not the Norcross one.

I heard Cherians was bit costly but no more information about it.

Referred to by redpepper...she says she's satisfied with these 2 stores...
