I would like to dedicate this thread to geopolitical events and foreign policy affecting India's status on a global scale.

Manmohan Singh is the weakest prime minister I have seen in the past quarter of the century. After much grandstanding, he let down Iran... and consequently India by voting together with Washington in a resolution against Iranian nuclear capabilties.

If BJP too joins the Left in protest, Congress' days in power would be numbered and we may see a general election soon next year.

[tscii:e87d8d9560]Such weak-kneed decisions are a result of misinterpretations of global currents. Moscow and Beijing had abstained from voting against Iran. New Delhi voted... against Iran.

So what happens now?
- No country in southeast Asia would respect Indian promises or assurances anymore.
- Iran would cancel the lucrative £4,000m gas pipeline project summarily.
- India's stance on membership to UNSC is damned for atleast a generation.[/tscii:e87d8d9560]
