Often we hear this word GENERATION GAP...whenever we come across someone elder or younger than us....

We find the opposite guy's views/ thoughts / comments unacceptable.... which leads us to a conclusion that something is wrong with the guy ( though something may be wrong with us as well ! )

Is it true that as a generation gets older, the practices, customs, habits change quite dramatically.....and it transforms into what is called generation gap ?

There are some exceptional characters who swim along tough waters but still emerge successful overcoming the so called generation gap ....

Shall we exchange our thoughts pls ?

I think Generation gap is one of the key factors in case of domestic problems in the house... Mother-in-law lived in a different generation and has her own ideas and style of life with the modern day daughter-in-law who needs more freedom... Even in a work environment Generation gap brings in problems where a person belonging to a different generation isnt really comfortable with the the person of this generation... There's a conflict of interests and end result is nobody is happy..

Life changes constantly. But we refuse to see, compromise, adapt to the changes. Most of us have condescending attitude towards change. Some fight it, though in futility. Life has its own equations and flows on...
The fricition because of "Generation Gap" comes due to our stubborn attitude of "We are right", "We were better/ We are better", both from younger and older generations. The young refuse to see the good of the past, the old, the good of the present.
The wisdom lies in acceptance of the present. The young are young. They do not have the advantage of experience. Hence the old have more responsibility to understand the present and adapt to it.
To decry everything of the present is to live in dismay, because you cannot put the clock back.
"Generation gap" exists, but it need not.

Most changes deserve to be welcomed when are harmless & make life more comfortable: The food cooked in the charcoal stove was delicious, no denying it, at the same microwave is more fun & health for the whole family. Ladies used to answer from behind the doors, no harm in their speaking with men & strangers meeting the eye; but no need to go all western and hug any & everyone. Judicious acceptance of changes in lifestyles & concepts need not create friction if all generations understand the limits of propriety.

All the more meaningful wudn't u say......?? :) Esp. for the present gen. tat glorifies practically every aspect of Western culture, even those tat r unnecessary for us! tat tends to widen the Gen. gap!
As for me, even I face a strong gen. gap.....however, not w/ the older generations but w/ my own/newer ones!
