[tscii:5d75cd9c77]Bharath touched the skies with his first film and the ground in his following films. His career looks up again now. Vasanthabalan’s ‘Veyil,’ Vijay Milton’s ‘Azhagaai Irukkiraai Bhayamaai Irukkiradhu,’ and Vishnuvardhan’s ‘Pattiyal’ are some of his films on hand.

The latest in the list is Vikraman’s film. After a long time, Vikraman of ‘Vaanathai Pola’ fame, returns to films. This will be a usual sentimental love story featuring Bharath. The production house could be his favorite Lakshmi Movie Makers.[/tscii:5d75cd9c77]

Director Vikraman to grind different flour this time February 22, 2006

After a long gap, the giants, Director Vikraman and AR Rahman are coming together in a movie project. Is Vikraman tired of his image as a family-story-director? It looks so for this movie is going to be an action packed one and not that of sentimental stuff that his is accustomed to give. What kind of action film will it be? The same old formula stuff? No, say Vikram's camp members. It is different and just you wait and watch.

[tscii:dad49af72e]Bharath and Vikraman’s Koodal Express! February 25, 2006

Did you know how Vikraman chose Bharath for his Koodal Nagar? That’s a story in itself. Bharath had been lounging in wilderness because he did not have any hits after Kadhal. Even his February 14 flopped miserably. Hearing that Vikraman was on the look out for a hero, he approached him on his own. Vikraman, who had been tired of finding a suitable hero, agreed to take him on board on one condition. “Give me six months call sheets. At that time, don’t accept any other movie. Just concentrate heart and soul and co-operate with me. You will be top hero after Koodal Nagar.” Bharath happily agreed to this. Bharath will be completing Veyyil and Pattiyal soon. It will then be Koodal Nagar for him. Meanwhile, Vikraman is giving finishing touches to the script.

Vikraman takes guard again
IndiaGlitz [Monday, February 27, 2006]

After a long break, director Vikraman is all set to get back to the starting blocks.

He has chosen to direct Bharath for his comeback film that has been titled Koodal Nagar. A search for the heroine is on.

Post- Kadhal has been a very lean period for Bharath. All his movies including February 14 did not do well at the box-office and he is pinning all his hopes on Veyyil and Pattiyal.

For Vikraman, whose last outing was Madhavan starrer Priyamana Thozhi, a hit is needed now to sustain himself in the industry amidst the crop of several young talented directors today.

Apparently Bharath has been impressed by the story narrated by Vikraman, who is now busy giving final touches to the script.

By the middle of this year, they are expected to commence shooting of Koodal Nagar

[tscii:8939d712e3]Vikraman’s ‘Chennai Kaadhal’
- 08.03.2006
Is this the ‘Vaanathai Pola’ Vikraman? It is rather unbelievable. He is famous for the lalala chorus in his films. When his shishyas changed the music trend in films, Vikraman was relegated to the background by Tamil cinema. After a long struggle, Vikraman is to direct a film and at once the lalala of S A Rajkumar comes to mind.

Love has been dealt with in nauseating regularity in Tamil films and Vikraman’s film is also about love. The title is ‘Chennai Kaadhal.’ When Vikraman tried to approach leading actors for the hero role, they all escaped as if being chased by a kidnapper. You will surely understand why.

After hearing that Vikraman is looking out for a hero, the ‘Kaadhal’ mechanic Bharath, who has had no great hits after ‘Kaadhal,’ rushed to Vikraman. On his part, Vikraman has promised to overhaul Bharath’s ailing film career! With this understanding, they embark on their venture ‘Chennai Kaadhal.’

Normally, cinema people think that connecting alphabets like ‘ik’ and ‘ich’ spell doom for them, so they are allergic to them. But Vikraman has bravely incorporated ‘ik’ in the title of ‘Chennai Kaadhal.’ Vikraman is so sentimental, he still has the pad he used to write the script for ‘Pudhu Vasantham,’ so would he let go of the ‘ik’?

It is Vikraman’s style to have titles with 7 alphabets. That’s why he has braved fate and added the ‘ik’ for the title of his new film.

We wish him all the best!

yaaa,i agree with svaisn....ARR needs a hit movie in tamil, not just hit albums.....see, its decided that ARR wont shift base to Mumbai or London, so he has to do kollywood movies, if he is doing them, then he has to do it sincerely and be a success.....if he needs success, he has to work with gud commercial directors instead of just arty-classy directors.......

i guess this (movie with vikraman) will be a gud project for ARR and more importantly a success one......
