Hello,I want to know how to make idli with idli rawa.I have a grinder.So,pls tell me the measurement for making idli with idli rawa.I need to grind Urad dal but pls tell me how to proceed with the idli rawa and the exact measurements.

RAVA IDLI

idli rava - 2 cups
urad dal - 1/2 cup
salt
cooking soda

1. soak urad dal for 2 to 3 hrs.
2. when starting to grind urad, soak rava in water.
3. when urad is light and fluffy, add the well drained rava to it.
4. add salt and leave to ferment overnight.
5. before steaming idlis, add a pinch of soda and mix well.
6. steam like normal idlis.

INSTANT RAVA IDLI

semolina Roasted - 2 cups
Buttermilk - 1 cup
Green chillies - 2
Ginger grated - 1 tsp
Coconut grated - 2 tbsp
Carrot grated 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
tempering:
oil - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal


mix everything together, keep for 10 minutes and steam like normal idlis

u can add 1 or 2 tbsp of ghee to the batter before steaming

Sorry,I do not want recipe for rawa idli.I want to make normal idli using the special idli rawa,which we get in mkt,it is ground rice actually.

that was the one i gave in RAVA IDLI....rice rava is used in it :)

ayesha,U have given the recipe for rawa idli.I want ordinary idli recipe with the idli rawa not semolina
