Aah! Anu, you have stolen the very recipe I wanted to post here! But, to add to your recipe, a bit of olive oil goes a long way!!

My friend adds her own salad dressing which is a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar and some crushed garlic to this salad :)

Broccoli Salad

I just love broccoli and am eating a yummy salad right now!! :)

Steam broccoli just right, so that it still retains its crunchy taste
Squeeze some lemon juice, salt and 1 tsp of olive oil over it
Let it stay for an hour or two

That is all to a healthy, delicious salad! :)

my favourite salad is

olives, baby tomatoes (optional), lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, feta cheese, peppers (capsicum) - any colour with salt and pepper - you can always add salad dressing if you want!

my version has been sans the onion and salt ( feta already has too much salt).

My arab/paki colleagues call chickpeas as "dengu". They soak chickpeas/channa in salted water, drain it and have it like salad with their lunch. I am not sure if there is any other process to it but it tastes quite nice.
