Hi everyone.

I'm a Kiwi-girl (NewZealander) who recently bought a small original painting at a local school market. It measures around 6" x 4".
It looks like this:

When I went to re-frame it, I found text on the back:

Can someone possibly help with

1. Where this painting originated from. (Maybe someone knows the style?)
2. What does the text on the back say?

I'm very curious to know.

Thanks,
:D

Awarua.

I don't know anything about the Mughal painting or the message that is written at the back . Out of curiosity is it a portrait of noorjahan with jehanghir.

The text is most probably Urdu or Farsi or Arabic. The script is obviously arabic and the painting is from Mughal period.

This message board is composed of mostly South Indians and you might not find someone to help you with Urdu/Arabic/Persian languages. I suggest that you try an urdu message board such as
