coconut bun

Hi Everyone,

I am new here. I was wondering if anyone knew receeipe for coconut bun(called thengai bun in salem,coimbatore area)?

hi tint, though I don't know the exact recipe, I can guess to some extent how it is made... try it out if wish to...:)

just take sugar & water in 1:1 ratio & let the sugar dissolve... let it boil for a few minute...just until it nears one string consis... now add grated coconut & keep stirring until it thickens... Some add a pinch of cardamom, which is optional... Once it thickens, add pappays fruit... mix well... take off flame... use it s a spread for buns, bread...
