Which of the 2 is best - Old songs Lyrics / New Song lyrics

Hi Friends,

I am a new hubber to this site. I was just a guest reader and got very much attracted by the info-pool and registered soon. I would like to mention about Manisekaran(Thagaval - surangam )who was the prime reason of my attraction. I also found some other very good hubbers, As I am new could not remember their names easily. I have posted a new topic. Hope it is worth discussing.

i have heard many vairamuthu songs..in fact 100s as im from this generation..but just heard few of kannadasan..really greater impact!..

But now it is time of modernization. It requires lot of effort and wierd imagination to write lyrics which would attract ppl of this generation and I feel VM is possessing much of that and so he is ruling....

Had Kannadasan lived these days do u think he will have written lyrics that attract this generation ppl????.......

I like both Kannadasan and Vairamuthu.

Though, I only started paying more attention to lyrics after the ARR-Vairamuthu team. Amazing creativity, and talent.

But I do listen to the older songs in a different light, now that I can understand the lyrics much better.

If we go and surf the forums in this site dealing with old tamil songs it will surely attract us towards old song music and lyrics

Old song lyrics particularly for MGR and Shivaji, I think new song lyricist could not even meet up one such old song. Old songs were full of ideal values to be conveyed to people but new songs are mostly humbug.....garbage.
