Hi All,

I was just wondering if anybody in this forum has Varalakshmi nombu. My family did not have it but my husbands family does. I have been married only 2 years now. This will be my 3rd nombu. I am celebrating it tomorrow. I know that people who have it in India, may already have celebrated it. But I would appreciate if you could post how you celebrated.

I know that telegu's also have this nombu and do it a little differently from us (Tamil Brahmin Iyer). I make uppu and vella kozhakattai, vadai, payasam, adhirsam and sundal. I dont do much for decorating amman. Just some flowers, the traditional cotton malai, saree, etc.

I once visited an Iyengar friend's house who actually replicated a garden in front of amman!

Do let me know what others in this forum did. Any photos will be appreciated.

Thank you

Google for "varalakshmi viratham" or "varalakshmi vratham". There are tons of useful information in google, if we only search for it.

Sorry I don't celebrate it myself, to give you tips. Hope yours went well, this year. :D
