A special dedication to all Malaysian hubbers:

On the coming Malaysia’s 49th Independence Day, I sat back and thought about what I like most about my motherland. It was an amalgam of little things and may be, in a way, these are the things that define our culture.

1. The smell of mud when it rains.
2. Playing hopscotch on the streets.
3. Getting dressed in uniform on Independence day and
participating in the March Past.
4. Sitting in the school/university canteen and talking about
nothing.
5. By 2 coffee
6. Mother’s cooking.
7. Haggling while buying anything and everything.
8. Knowing your grocer well enough to invite his family for
your wedding.
9. Grocer knowing you well enough to report
your “activities” to your mother.
10. Long walks with dad where we discussed things from
Quantum Physics to mother’s “sambhar”.
11. Camping out at granny’s house till mom’s anger
subsided.
12. Bunking classes.
13. Hoping you would get at least one red rose
on “Valentine’s Day”.
14. Sunday afternoon naps.
15. Fighting with your sister about who has to switch off the
lights before going to sleep.
16. Hiding your sister’s homework and blackmailing her that
you will destroy it.
17. Getting blackmailed by your sister because she found
a “valentine’s day” card in in your bag.
18. Watching three movies at the theatre one after another.
19. People dropping by at your house without calling or
giving any prior notice.
20. The constant noise of the ceiling fan when you sleep.
21. Driving a second hand "Kancil".
22. Chasing away little boys who try to stone the fruit tree in
front of your house.
23. Stealing mangoes from another houses’ tree.
24. Staying awake later and watching special TV programs
on New Year’s Eve.
25. Roadside drinks.
26. Attending marriages all decked up.
27. All cousins spending summer holidays at granny’s house.
28. Seeing people on streets, everywhere.
29. Convincing a taxi driver to take you where YOU want to
go.
30. Launching paper boats in roadside puddles.
31. Jasmine flower strings.
32. Sweet talking the police officer when he caught you
without a driving license.
33. Calling everyone uncle or aunty.
34. Playing badminton on the streets.
35. Leaving our “marks” on a newly tarred road.
36. Orange popsicles that made your tongue even more
orange.
37. Mehendi.
38. Being so loud with your friends in the bus that the ticket
conductor throws you out.
39. My first cycle.
40. Fake GAP T-Shirts.
41. Singing “Negaraku” at school daily.

P/S : “Negaraku” is our national anthem..it means “ My Country”
"Kancil" is a Malaysian made car which can be seen in most
houses garage...it is an economical car and normally parents
get this car for their children who hv just obtained their
driving licenses :P

Hmm, everything that Malsi has said is equally applicable to India as well, except perhaps the National Anthem and the car!!!

How uniquely similar the two cultures are!!!

Takaful Malaysia Bhd is not a bank, rather it is an Islamic investment agency.

Secondly, he who sent the internal mail was admonished by the powers to be, leading to his public apology.
