Vazhthukkal for the hundred !
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
April 21, 2007
No, the cricket fever has not caught up with us. The 100 partnership that we are talking about is not between two batsmen, it is between a music director and a lyricist. Vazhthukkal is the Seeman directed Madhavan-Bhavana starrer that started shooting just a few days
madhavan-bhavana
back at the Chennai Trade Center, Nandabakkam. Before the start of shooting, the director had taken off with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and lyricist Na Muthukumar to Maldives in search of a tranquil environment to create a few soulful melodies. They did find a place tailor made to their requirements, Lily Beach, one of the numerous small islands that make up Maldives. There the trio spent a few days virtually cut off from the rest of the world. It is reported that Na Muthukumar penned a song 'Megham Thottu Vaanam Etti Parthen' that was set to tune by Yuvan. Now, this is officially the 100th song of the Yuvan-Muthukumar team, and both of them are still at relatively early stages in their career.
Behindwoods compliments the two artistes on this milestone and wishes sincerely along with all Tamil lovers that the best of this team is yet to come. Also, best wishes to the Vazhthukkal team.

Yuvan Shankar Raja gives permission
By Behindwoods News Bureau.

Chithiram Pesuthadi was a huge surprise hit. The movie, made with new faces, received rave reviews and was much talked about. Telugu director Surya Kiran is all set to remake the movie in Telugu. Tollywood's leading actor Mohan Babu's son Manoj is tipped to don the leading role and Sheela, who acted in Ilavattam, will be the heroine. Readers may be aware that Selvaraghavan-directed, Dhanush-starrer Kaadhal Kondein was a huge hit, more so, for its music and songs. News that is doing rounds is that, two songs from Kaadhal Kondein - Devathaiyai Kanden and Thottu thottu - will be included in the movie. The director approached Yuvan Shankar Raja and has already obtained his permission.

Aduvari Matalaku Ardhale Verule starring Venkatesh and Trisha in the banner of Sai Deva Productions is going to release on April 27th and not on April 28th as scheduled earlier.
The film is produced by NV Prasad and Sanam Naga Ashok with Sri Raghava as director. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is doing well in the market. This happens to be the first movie of Venkatesh after the blockbuster Lakshmi in 2006.
Aduvari Matalaku Ardhale Verule carries lot of hype and is touted to be a clean family entertainer.

IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, April 24, 2007]
The audio of 'Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule' directed by Sri Raghava and produced by NV Prasad and Sanam Naga Ashokkumar on the banner of Sri Saideva Productions was released into the market recently.
Yuvan Shankar Raja scored melodious tunes to all the songs. All the lyrics have become very popular and the audio sales is also quite encouraging.

Director Boyapati Sreenu says, 'The audio of the film was a big hit. I am enjoying the success of the audio now. I am sure that the film would also be a success.'
Producer Sanam Naga Ashokkumar says, 'We are happy to announce that the audio of our film was a hit. We are releasing the film on April 27. We are very sure and confident of its success.'

Just watched Chennai 68 at Tiong Bharu Singapore. The sound system was fantastic and Yuvan's songs and BGM were simply superb!!!! Yaaro and Saroja songs simply rocked to amazing effect!!!
But the movie though having its different look, style and all that, did not live up to the expectations. The games which were the backbone of the story were not given much focus and with very little sports suspense, which I believe is a very big let down for fans.
But still can watch for Yuvan's fantastic work!!!
Weeeelllll done Yuvan!!!!! If the movie makes it at the box office it is mainly by Yuvan's magical music.

Selvaraghavan strike gold in Tollywood
IndiaGlitz [Monday, April 30, 2007]
Selvaraghavan strikes it rich in Tollywood. His recent release Aadavari Mataluku Ardhalae Verulae starring Venkatesh, Trisha and Srikanth has made a bumper opening.
Though Selvaraghavan's earlier film Brindavan Colony was a hit in Andhra Pradesh, it was the dubbed version of his blockbuster Tamil movie 7G Rainbow Colony. Aadavari Mataluku ... is his first direct Telugu film. The movie has managed to set the sagging career of Venkatesh back on right path. The movie is being remade in Tamil as Yaradi Nee Mohini with Dhanush and Nayantara in lead roles.
Selvaraghavan has rechristened himself as Sriraghavan in Telugu now. Though Selvaraghavan took his own time to complete the movie, the stupendous success has brought cheers in every face of the cast and crew involved in making the movie.

[tscii:48ebfd8306]ayantara, Dhanush enjoyed AMAV
Apr 28, 2007, 03:38
Venkatesh’s Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule has taken flying start. But the talk is mixed. Expectedly the response from urban areas is strong. They are liking Venky’s comedy act. Meanwhile, Nayanatara, Dhanush along with his wife, Charmi, Devi Sri Prasad and others had seen the film at Prasads Mulitiplex on Friday night (April 27).
Venkatesh who is holidaying in Europe is expected to come to Hyderabad in a few days and will interact with media. Then he will be leaving abroad for a song shoot for his Tulasi.
Press Release :
AMAV marching towards biggest overseas hit
Exhibitors who have been struggling with high prices and less crowds are now smiling after about 9 months since the last overseas hits - Bommarillu/Pokiri.
Telugu movie lovers are back to theaters to show their pride towards a good movie, which was missing for past few months. All the seven centers where AMAV
is screening, had to accommodate extra shows because of the huge turnout. This film is expected to have lot of repeat values, as it is clean family entertainer.
The question now, Is AMAV driving towards as the biggest hit in Overseas?
Huge Success in Detroit:
More than 1000 people watched the movie on Saturday alone and there were some return crowd due to tickets unavailability.
According to Mike, Owner of Livonia Cinema, the huge capacity screen was full only once in the past and that was for a Hindi film (Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Ghum), few years ago.
Exhibitors had to put quiet a few extra chairs to accommodate people who drove from long distance. The 550 capacity theater was jam packed for the 9.30pm show.
It is expected to be the biggest hit in Detroit. There will be one extra show each on Sunday to Thursday to meet the demand.
The anxious film lovers after getting the tickets chanted 'Govindaa Govindaa' hoping to a get a better seat in the theater.
All shows are sold out: NJ
All shows for the weekend (Fri/Sat/sun) were sold out by Friday noon it self. There were no extra shows on Friday due the other big release (Hindi).
Exhibitors arranged extra show at 8.30pm o Saturday, which was sold out instantly. There will be at least two extra shows on Sunday, one each on Mon-Thus.
The turnout is exceptional and expected to be the one of the top grosser in NJ.
Best ever openings in Atlanta for any Telugu film:
Irrespective of the movie rating people thronged to the theater and all three shows were sold out (one on Friday/ two on Saturday). Due to others commitments,
the theater management was not able to accommodate additional show, hence there was lot of return crowd. There were people standing for the second show on Saturday.
About 1100 people watched the movie for just three shows, which is highest for any Telugu film in Atlanta so far.
Thrilling openings in Chicago:
Despite the shows got cancelled on Friday due flight delay, the turnout was greatest in Chicago's Telugu film history. 3 out of 4 shows were sold out. The one after noon show was 80% full.
Audience were much excited and made lot of noise, particularly the scenes involving Color's Swathi and Venky. The crowd response was splendid for other scenes
introducing Venky to Vasu's family, That 10 minutes stood out as the best part of crowd excitement.
Sold out in Minneapolis:
Friday shows got cancelled due to flight delay and Minneapolis crowd showed the strength of the Telugu community in the city on Saturday. There were close to 1000 excited people
thronged to the theater just for two shows. The surprised exhibitors have decided to screen the movie again in 1-2 weeks, by looking at the response on Saturday.
SJ stands out as best first week center in USA:
The huge capacity park theater was jam packed for all the shows screened so far on Friday/Saturday. ALL SHOWS WERE SOLD OUT ON FRIDAY & SATURDAY. This is a record for any Telugu film in SJ. The thrilled theater management have decided to add more screen during the week days. More than 1500 people watched the film until Saturday.

Yuvan scores another hit with 'Aduvari Matalaku...'
The album of 'Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule' tops the Telugu charts this fortnight.
The top five Telugu albums are:
1. 'Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule' - Tamil composer Yuvan Shankar Raja teams up with his favourite director Sri Raghava to deliver another hit. 'Baby' and 'Naa manasuki' are popular tracks.
2. 'Munna' - Composer Harris Jayaraj has given his best in this album. 'Baga baga' and 'Chamakuro' are topping countdown shows.
3. 'Aata' - The combo of producer M.S. Raju and his favourite composer Devisri Prasad yields a promising album. 'Vela yela' and 'Muddulata' are racy numbers.
4. 'Sivaji' - Master composer A.R. Rahman's Telugu album for the forthcoming Rajnikant film has not been as much of a hit as its Tamil counterpart. It may pick up after the film's release.
5. 'Veduka' - Up-and-coming composer Anoop's humable tunes 'Syra syra' and 'Mallela mancham' may help this album move up the charts.

mirchi shiva has done a superb performance very casual and natural and equally well done is ajay <resembles vijay>and premji.everybody has a equal role and have done wonderfully.music by yuvan awsome.jalsa song had great applause also during the part "figure'a nambaama pozhachuko da"there was a huge roar in the theatre and "saroja saama nikaalao" evrybody started dancing instantaneously.venkat prabhu taking up a very rare theme and doing it with debutant artists sucessfully should defenitely be praised a million dollar.
i doubt the film goes well with ladies or families.not that it has obscene or vulgar scenes but still i feel only boys would love it .yuvan as usual got huge whistles and claps when his name was displayed during the titles. cricket, friends, love, fun, chucha fights, good music... chennai 28 has evertthing.a thorough entertainer.kudos to charan and venkat

By Behindwoods News Bureau.
May 07, 2007
Chennai 600 028, the latest summer release which was written off earlier has really picked up well and is receiving positive response from everyone. Director Venkat Prabhu has been virtually drenched with accolades from leading directors and actors. Vishal who had watched the film was so impressed that he has expressed his desire to act under the direction of Venkat Prabhu.
Understandably Venkat is ecstatic about his film’s success and states that he has been trying to find a footing in the industry in different capacities like actor and singer but has finally found his calling in direction.
As per the usual norm of any successful Tamil film, Chennai 600 028 is also currently being dubbed in Telugu and will be released as ‘Hyderabad gully’. Initially there were attempts to remake this film but now the idea is shelved and Chennai 600 028 will be dubbed in Telugu. Rights for dubbing have been sold for around seventy five lakhs which is almost equal to half of the production cost of the film. Currently dubbing is proceeding in a feverish pitch and is likely to complete in ten days after which the film will be ready for release in Telugu Desam. The success of Chennai 600 028 is surely an indicator of the fact that a film need not have a big star cast to record success but if the story is narrated in an appropriate style, its success is certain.[/tscii:c691f1f523]

ofcourse yaaro spb sodhapals.looked like some 80's song picturisation.think they deliberately did that to get 80's feel .even yuvan has said this in an interview.but still as u said the picturisation in all the songs could have been much better
 IMHO, SPB is the one who makes Yaaro sound cool. Not sure about the picturisation since i haven't seen the movie yet

'Chennai 600028' sails to victory
Venkatprabhu is in seventh heaven as if he has won the World Cup itself. He is a man of several facets including actor and singer, but what is shining foremost now is his talent as director. His critics as well as fans are raving over his 'Chennai 600028' and that has given him the happiness similar to having scored a century!
Ajith saw 'Chenani 600028' twice and even called up Venkatprabhu to express his appreciation. There is talk that Ajith could act next under Venkatprabhu's direction.
After Vishal saw the film, he straightaway asked Venkatprabhu to prepare a story for him.
Just having street matches as the story background, he has delivered an entertaining film. The Andhra fans also liked the film so much, it is being dubbed in Telugu as 'Hyderabad Kalli.'
'Unnai Saranadaindhen' and 'Mazhai' produced by SPB Saran had flopped so he is happy with the success of 'Chennai 600028.'
It is strange that when the real cricket match crashed into defeat, the screen match is cruising to a victory!

[tscii:1dfd3430e5]Selvaraghavan & Trisha – two to tango
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
May 11, 2007
Selvaraghavan's Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule, made on a budget of Rs. 10 crores, is doing well in Andhra Pradesh. There is a talk in the tinsel town that the movie could gross up to Rs. 30 crores.
With the movie being a mega grosser, in terms of money, it could also pave way for Trisha to strengthen her hold in the Telugu industry, with brighter than before prospects to move back to number one slot.
Moving on to Selvaraghavan, insiders say that this movie has earned him laurels. Readers may be aware that the director’s earlier Tamil venture, Pudupettai was written off though it was technically appreciated. Looks like Selvaraghavan churned out Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule just to square off the failure. Sources say that Selvaraghavan, who married recently, was back into action without taking time off for his personal life. His hard work seems to have borne him the desired results. Announcement on this project is expected to be released soon after his arrival from the hill station wrapping up his discussions.

The top five Telugu albums are:
1. "Dubai Seenu" - "Seenu seenu" and "Once upon" stand out among the fast-paced numbers of the album.
2. "Rajubhai" - Tamil composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has caught the pulse of Telugu music-lovers and has delivered another peppy album. Two tracks, "Korameenu" and "Chalta chalta", are a rage.
3. "Aata" - Composer Devisri Prasad could have produced something better. Individual chartbusters like "Aata aata" and "Yela yela" won't suffice to give the album an overall market impact.
4. "Aduvari Matalaku Arthale Verule" - The film's success has enhanced the sales of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja's album. "Allantha doorana" and "O baby" are topping countdown shows.
5. "Sivaji" - With the film's release date confirmed, the album by composer A.R. Rahman is looking up again. "Style" and "Vaaji vaaji" are catchy.

Sathyaraj-Radhika in an MGR song
- 18.05.2007
MGR and Sivaji fans have been protesting for ages against stars dancing to re-mix tunes of their idols' songs and spoiling their beauty. But who is listening?
Yet another MGR song is being done for 'Kannamoochi Enada' by re-mix king Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Priya of 'Kanda Naal Mudhal' fame is directing 'Kannamoochi Enada.' It is being produced by Radhika's company Radaan. There are 2 pairs in the film. One is Sathyaraj-Radhika and the other is Prithviraj-Sandhya.
In 'Periya Idathu Penn,' MGR and Saroja Devi dance to "anru vandhadhum idhe nila."
The re-mix version by Yuvan has Sathyaraj and Radhika dancing to it. The end of the song has both couples joining together. Cinematography is by Preethi.

Mohan Babu is a happy man. He has enough reasons to smile as his son Vishnu’s Dhee is turning out to be a hit. Now his second son Manoj's latest film Raju Bhai is also getting ready to hit the screens.
The audio of Raju Bhai is planned to be released in a grand manner. Supreme Music is going to market the album. The film is directed by Surya Kiron (of Satyam fame), and is a remake of Tamil hit Chittiram Pesudhadi
Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is one of the highlights in the movie and the film was slated for release on May 4, the birthday of Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao (Mohan Babu's screen guru). But now the rumour is that due to postproduction delays, the date is likely to be pushed to May 13th. [/tscii:f1cb848270]

'Rajubhai' audio a big hit
IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, May 02, 2007]
The audio of 'Raju Bhai' directed by Surya Kiron and produced by Mohanbabu on the banner of Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures with Manojkumar and Sheela in the lead, was launched through Supreme Music recently.
Yuvan Shankar Raja scored melodious tunes to all the songs and the audio was proved a big hit.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohanbabu says, 'Raju Bhai audio was released into the market recently and is getting a positive response. All the songs were proved successful. There are six songs in the film and Yuvan Shankar Raja gave different tunes to each of the song. We planned it in a different way. I am receiving phone calls from the audiences and fans that the audio was a big hit. I too listened to the songs and confidently say that the audio was a super hit. The song meant for Sunil was extraordinary. I strongly believe that the audiences who made the audio a big hit, would also make the film a huge success. After completing all the formalities, we are planning to release the film on May 11. Surya Kiron would earn a good name and earn a place among the top directors. The success credit of the film would go to the director.'

There are two songs from Kadhal Kondein, no problem here. But 'nee kosam pilla' is 'unakkaaga ellam unakkaaga' from Chanrababu song, sommunu's starting line sounds very close to 'naan autokaaran' and also 'korameenu' which is nothing but vaala meenukkum. :(

S'porean's film is big hit in India
A BIG gamble by Singaporean producer
JK Saravana has paid off.
His first Tamil film has topped the box office in Tamil Nadu.
Chennai 600028, a film about a street cricket team, has also been dubbed a 'surprise Tamil hit' by the Indo-Asian News Service (Ians).
Saravana's company, Tantra Films, co-produced the film with Chennai-based Capital Film Works, a movie company owned by actor-singer SP Balasubramaniam.
The New Paper spoke to Saravana, 26, who is currently in the Tamil Nadu capital basking in his success.
He said: 'We were all shocked. We knew the movie would be a hit, but we were not expecting to hit No1.'
The film, made on a $1.2m budget, opened last month in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore and features a cast of 13 unknown actors. The total box-office profit is not available yet.
The film's title refers to the postcode of a lower middle-class neighbourhood in Chennai called Rajaannamalaipuram, or RA Puram to locals.
Obviously, having the backing of Tamil cinema heavyweights helped Saravana greatly.
His co-producer was SP Charan, son of SP Balasubramaniam, and his director was Venkat Prabhu, son of veteran composer-director Gangai Amaran.
The film's score was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raaja, whose father, Ilayaraja, is one of Tamil cinema's most prolific composers.
Ilayaraja has just finished composing the soundtrack for Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan's upcoming film Cheeni Kum (Less Sugar).
Said Saravana, who cut his teeth making local Tamil programmes for Vasantham Central:
'We all had something to prove.
'For me, it making my first big movie as a Singapore producer. Prabhu wanted to prove that he could make it as a director and Charan wanted to prove to his family that he is not a failure.'
Charan's last two films did modest business in the Kollywood market.
But it wasn't all smooth-sailing for
Chennai 600028.
Ians reported that distributors and theatre owners were initially not interested in the film because it lacked star power.
Saravana admitted they had trouble persuading them to buy the film.
'What we did was we showed the film to the distributors before we launched it.
'While they thought it was good, they said they weren't sure if the general audience would like it,' he said.
In the end, he and his team released the film independently in Chennai.
'If it had failed, we would have been crying. Now we are laughing and theatre owners across South India are asking for more prints,' he said.
They released 46 prints in India last month. This was increased to 59 prints after the opening weekend.
Saravana said that another 10 prints will be released in a week.
NEW FACES
Director Prabhu, 31, told The New Paper that whether the film did well or not, he still considers casting a group of newcomers as a good move.
'The script needed new faces. If I had cast a star, the people would have seen the star and not the characters or the story,' he said.
As a result of Channai 600028's success, some of Kollywood's top producers have asked him to work on a few projects.
But Prabhu would not reveal what they were at the moment as nothing was confirmed yet.
As for Saravana, he is working on his next commercial project in Chennai due to start filming in September.
He is also planning his dream project, a film about the Singapore-Indian diaspora.
'I am looking out for new Singapore talent for this project.
'So if there are any actors, directors or scriptwriters who want to get involved, I want them to call me,' he said.

Its understandable that mass like Remixes because they become hits instantly since everyone's familiar with the tune.
But only people like us are concerned about his career and growth, which get spoiled by remixes. We expect albums like "Poovellam kettu paar, Deepavali and those from Selvaragavan's movies".
Hope you can convey the msg to him :?

sorry misinterpretation....
yes premgi said that remix is directors idea, not yuvan's idea..... We all very well know that man...... y u1 didnt remix for selvaraghavan, ameer ?? .... SO we know that it's not u1's idea....only directors idea...
But point is u1 must reject those director's remix ideas..... namma alu ninaicha, easya reject pannalam....
premgi directa pidikkumnu sollalai...but he said that they are doing remixes for bass lovers......finally he asked which is the best remix of u1??....( nanga remix pandrathula, thappum onnum illainnuthane artham??).....
Anyway u1 is popular only because of his original songs :D ....even some of his remixes went unnoticed...( his remix percentage is below 5%. that is different story....)
Guys, discard those remixes....enjoy his beautiful melodies, blistering hip-hop/RAP, blasting kuttu songs, unbelievable R&R and many more genres...... :D

He is not that big to reject director's requests...not all are as powerful as IR to hold their own views..yuvan although very popular is a director's musician rather than a standalone MD. Again its easy to say why dunt u reject but rejecting remixes might be commercially bad for him as directors nowadays go for the commercial trend rather than the musically "good" trend.
As i said directors ask for the remixes but not all..only some...again you misunderstood there....yuvan is not really a remix lover...he might have done it at first but after his theepidikka and namma kaatuley becoming commercial hits they might have wanted him to continue that...since ameer and selva dunt make movies requiring remix situations they dunt request yuvan to do so....and maybe since they know more of music rather than being commercial they know how to make use of yuvan..even then he is still a director's MD. :D

I happened to be related to the cinematographer of Kannamoochi Yenada and she (yes, its a she!) is back after a long schedule...told me that the first 4 lines' tune is same as 'Andru vandhadhum' but the rest is different it seems....she didn't even want to term it as a remix.
I'm guessing it could be like that Jeyam Ravi song where Yuvan used bits from Adiye manam nillunna....may be!

is "namma kaatula" a remix of something???
deepavali had nice soothing songs.... is one of the best albums yuvan recently made according to me.but no commercial songs or remix..the album failed commecially. so my point is its is not even the director but its the audience wanting him to do remixes.wee yuvan fans obviously against remixes and want more creativity from u1 but there r people who r just not music lovers .they just enjoy any songs if it has a old song remixed in fast beats.
also in theatres suddenly when a old song comes that too a famous song like "aasai nooru vagai" or "aasaia kaathula thoodhuvittu" the audience gets enthralled, atmosphere changes.suddely the whole crowd comes alive. they just enjoy the song. this makes the director to go for remixes . but its we yuvan fans who r concerned cos we want him to be unique and expand his creativity.so what we have to do id like vasanth said enjoy his original songs and ignore if its a remix

in the interludes, there is one humming and music bit ( MSV's
naanga pudhusa kattikitta song's humming and musical bit)...
I wont consider the theepidikka or namma kattula as remix.... definitely the main tune is yuvan's tune... in the interlude they are adding some old flavour thats all...
deepavali had nice soothing songs.... is one of the best albums yuvan recently made according to me.but no commercial songs or remix..the album failed commecially.
I wont accept... deepavali is a big musical HIT. check any fm channels or sun music or any TV channels...it has reach. the songs lifted the movie....yaa, Deepavali is u1's best album in recent times... (All the songs are rocking...check the interludes of "thoduven" song)

Ajith fans should be in for a feast this month end as his mega film 'Kireedom' is expected to be released then. This film has emphasis on the story after which Ajith's 'Billa' will be released.
Director Vishnuvardhan is shooting for the film at a brisk pace in Malaysia. Ajith has Namitha and Nayantara as heroines in 'Billa.'
The song"My name is Billa" from the original Rajini film has been re-mixed for this new version. Vishnuvardhan is confident that this will also be a super hit like the original number was many years ago.
Since the song"My name is Billa" is apt for Ajith, they have also done a re-mix of the song"vethalayai pottendi..."
Vishnuvardhan is convinced this action film with Ajith will go down well

Good. If they will continue their dirty politics in TV programmes, sure it will help to other channels and will step down for SUN TV from No.1 Place  (already they are losing new tamil films to Kalaignar TV

I don't think that will happen, they are the market leaders. They will be, it will take herculian task to beat them on the air. Yeah, only for film related programs they play dirty but the other channel ;) is so bad compared to Sun TV if you consider other programs. Not only Sun TV, other channels are also losing new films to Kalaignar TV, so they must not be sad :)

Yuvan`s `Isai Iravu`
By Moviebuzz | Wednesday, 13 June , 2007, 11:36
Vasanth takes on `Sivaji` with a grand audio launch of his ambitious film `Sathum Podaathay` !
Director Vasanth's ambitious film Sathum Podaathay is one of the hottest films in Tamil, getting ready for release by July end. The "romantic thriller" as Vasanth would like to call it has some outstanding songs just like all his previous films. Yuvan Shankar Raja has churned out five lilting numbers that will sweep you off your feet!
And now, Vasanth plans to have a big audio launch on Thursday evening, on the eve of the release of the most anticipated film of the year Sivaji. The function Yuvan’s Isai Iravu will be a grand event at the Kamaraj Arangam at 6.30 pm which will be attended by the bigwigs of Tamil film industry and film stars.
Padmasree K.Balachandar who is Vasanth’s guru will release the audio which will be received by Ramanarayan, President, Tamil film producer’s council. Each song from the album will be released by young music directors like Devi Sri Prasad, Srikanth Deva, D.Imman, Vijay Antony and G.V.Prakash.

Yuvan's music album
- 14.06.2007
In India, music is usually connected with film music and the mindset does not go beyond that. Tamilnadu especially is the worst in this aspect. Music albums are not yet that popular. Our film musicians have also not evinced much interest in producing albums outside of films.
Yuvan shankar raja
AR Rehman is an exception. After 'Vande Mataram,' Sony Company produced his 'Pray for me Brother.' For lilting music and beautiful visuals in vertical cinemascope, the videos have to be seen.
Now Sony BMG has signed on Yuvan Shankar Raja for a music album along with singers Hariharan, KK and Kailash Kher.
Yuvan has always wanted to release a music album. He has already been to Bangkok and composed a few tunes. Since Sony has signed on Yuvan, the album will definitely be released soon.

14th June 2007, 03:35 PM
I happened to read Sony's country manager's interview on some magazine about their investment in India's entertainment industry. He mentioned that they were working with young talents of India and there are opportunities for them to work with talents from other countries. Yuvan may be working with some international artists for this album. If it is indeed true, he would achieve success more than anybody else from India.

Sathumpodaathay: Yuvan breaks the silence barrier
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, June 14, 2007]
Director Vasanth's Sathumpodaathay is almost complete.
A thrilled Vasanth says, “Yuvan has come up with catchy numbers. Especially a song set to tunes by Yuvan inspired by western music and rendered by Sudha Raghunathan is a major highlight of the movie”.
Vasanth says, “It is a love story sans romance. All the three lead characters have come up with a riveting performance. Hopefully Sathumpodaathay would make right noise at the box office”.
The audio of the movie would be released in Chennai at a gala function on Thursday evening. The movie stars Prithviraj, Padmapriya and Nithin Sathya in lead roles. Music is by Yuvanshankar Raja.
Just log on to http://www.raaga.com/channels/tamil/movie/T0001192.html for an exclusive preview of the songs.[/tscii:41107e92af]

Yes, Karthik, the SM song sounds not that great in the album. Listening on Raaga.com may deceive us, I will get album soon and see how it sounds on CD.
I read your comments, I think you are bit harsh on your review this time. Yuvan's style is completely different now from his PKP days, so expecting the same kind of tracks is not wise :) I am sure the visuals will be stunning and will enhance these tracks on screen.

The songs bear the unmistakable stamp of Yuvan all through.
"Azhagu kutti" though being noisy at places, is a wonderful tune and highly addictive. It is difficult to shrug off the song that keeps replaying in mind unknowingly.
Yes. Mr.Judge "Pesugiren" is a beautiful song with great interludes. I liked it instantly when it was performed live.
Part of "Oh indha kaadhal" resemble "Time"'s "Muthu nilave" song.
But for that, its a catchy and peppy number.
To be honest, Sudha ragunathan song is a slight disappointment. Could have refined it better. The opening "Krishna krishna" chant and the music is amazing though.
Shreya song grows on after repeated listenings.
Overall a decent album from Yuvan...

Here is my review of satham podathey:
At the initial point of hearing in the function and in my home it was a disappointment for me.maybe because i had very much expectation on vasanth - yuvan combo . moreover pkp was a romantic movie while sp is a thriller.but after reptd hearings it grew on me.
azhagu kutty _ very good song with good lyrics.thou not good on initial hearings very good after reptd hearings.
inth kadhal _ this song rocks.has an yuvan stamp on it.
pesukiren _ very good voice, nice interludes make this song intersting.
other two songs r ok. since these two songs have same concept they could used some other situation.

[tscii:c487cc4bd1] Kannamoochi Yenada waits for Yuvan
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
June 21, 2007
Priya V proved her mettle as a director with clear and linear narration in her debut film Kanda Naal Mudal. Movie goers appreciated her effort and liked the film a lot. Subsequently she commenced her next project Kannamoochi Yenada with Sandhya and Prithviraj. Music for the film is being scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film, we hear is almost near completion except for two songs.
Kollywood sources allege that before completing the songs for the film, Yuvan has moved on to the creation of his new dream album. This has naturally stalled the film’s progress. Therefore the film unit is eagerly awaiting Yuvan’s return to complete those numbers to enable them to wrap up the film.[/tscii:c487cc4bd1]

[tscii:d8fe922dea]`Sathum Podaathay` to be dubbed!
By Moviebuzz | Friday, 22 June , 2007, 10:28
Vasanth’s romantic thriller Sathum Podaathay has the rare distinction of being the first Tamil film which will be dubbed into Malayalam! `Divya Pictures` the regular distributors of Tamil films in Kerala has snapped the dubbing rights of the film, which has Pritviraj and Padmapriya both leading actors in Malayalam.
The film carries good pre-release reports as an aesthetically made thriller with outstanding songs and takings which is sure to appeal to the connoisseurs of good cinema in Kerala. Both Pritviraj and Padmapriya is said to have come out with excellent performance and the dubbed version will have a simultaneous release with the Tamil original.
After a much talked about audio release, Vasanth has taken a break and is now holidaying in Singapore. He will be back next week and the songs will be picturised in Chennai and exotic foreign locales. [/tscii:d8fe922dea]

"Satham podaathey" has a dark feel , being faithful to a thriller script.
"Azhagu kutti" starts off simplistically and in a predictable way but turns out interesting, a mixture of classcal Sumanesaranjani with cinema music kind. Iam happy it ia a different and not the routine candyfloss song for a kid. The best of the album is "Shreya's "endha kudhiraiyil varuvano" . I loved the way she improvises every time she sings "idharku thaane ithanai naaLa aasai patten prananadha" line. The beats and the tune actually make the song sound quite mysterious.
"Kadhal periyadha" is a disappointment. Tune is pedestrian like ARR's "ennuyire"[ Movie Uyire] types or Yuvan's "thottu thottu" [ Movie : Kadal Kondein] . Nothing new except for some cool sax , instrumental bits here and there
"Oh indha kadhal" sounds like some KarthikRaja number which Iam not able to pinpoint right now. Nevertheless, a pleasant pop song
"pesugiren pesugiren" is breezy and
softrockish with fantastic interludes. Am reminded of "ninaithu ninaithu parthen" . It took me few listenings to digest the voice of "viva girls" for this melody..

The best of the album is "Shreya's "endha kudhiraiyil varuvano" . I loved the way she improvises every time she sings "idharku thaane ithanai naaLa aasai patten prananadha" line. The beats and the tune actually make the song sound quite mysterious.
Yeah, this song rocks too. I loved her singing esp.
'vayathum manathum poraaduthu
valiyum kooda thenaanathu'
The clap kinda beat is nicely added to the rhythm section. Overall this song beats the Sutha Ragunathan's song.
