They used cells to get some light, thats all. Even, I f seen people searching for keys/coins dropped in dark area using handphones wen they don f any torchlights or any kind of other light producing tools. From that angle of view, its possible... :huh:
They didn't come up with some kind of idea & connect the cells with the operation machines to get those machines function, did they??? That would be the most stupid idea in the world. :lol:

Step 1: Click the 'Profile' option on the top of the page - you will be lead 2 ur personal profile setting page.

Step 2: There you can see a section with the name 'Avatar control panel' (all the way down).

Step 3: Select a photo or save it somewer.

Step 4: Make sure the avatar u wish 2 upload is less than 6kb - else it will prompt u an error message stating ur photo size is huge result in failure of upload process.

Step 5: Browse the desired photo using the column - 'Upload Avatar from your machine:'

Well. Westernizations aren’t just bounded with fashion and lifestyles, but it has fervently haunted in tinsel town. Especially, in Kollywood, things have started changing rapidly with themes. The heroes and directors who were successful with Masala movies hopped for different genres. Of course, even the audiences who were more bored with commercial movies have been welcoming the new trendsetting flicks.

Actor Vijay, who vividly believed in success of remake films, came up with a sudden surprise for all his fans. His previous venture ‘Azhagiya Tamizh Magan’ was a spine chilling thriller that made each and every fan of his to get moved to their edge of their seats. Vijay was completely different and it was something different to see him without punch dialogues and heroism glued acts.

Director Bharathan seems to have grabbed the themes from Hollywood flicks like Sandara Bullock’s Premonitions, Final Destination and Tom Cruise starrer Minority Report. Though, ATM wasn’t doing well in box-office, it was a good shooter for the changing genres in Tamil film industry.

Fine! Then came Billa 2007 with the appealing stylish icon Ajith Kumar in lead role. In no way, Director Vishnuvardhan had a trace of original version in his presentation. The duration was reduced and it gave a feel again of watching Al Pacino starrer Recruit, especially with the final scenes. One of the most exciting features in this movie that Vishnuvardhan never brought down a clumsy image of Nayanthara when she walked down in the frame with Bikinis. Instead of glamorous approach, it looked stylish and rocking and I am sure, you’re gonna agree with this.

Let’s start off with 2008, the films made with usual masala stuffs were a great flop and best illustrations would be Bheema and Kaalai. They weren’t aware of the fact that audiences were quite tired of beating the same bush with a puny guy pouncing on 30 men at a time. Hah! This was supposed to happen a long time back.

None of the Pongal releases were a good treat for the masses. Siddique’s Saadhu Miranda was an overture of new genre of thriller. The film makes you laugh and enjoy, right from the beginning till the end and at the same time, you will stick to your seats with nail-baiting aspects of thriller and suspense.

Anjathey has refined the genres of a drama-thriller and Hats off to Mysskin for he makes you feel occupied for a flick of 180mins. He has gamed his intelligence using innovative camera angles and he can be termed as ‘pure adorer of world cinema’.

The hunger for good roles and cinema keeps him going as he celebrates his birthday today (April 17).

This time Chiyaan is in Chennai and is planning a host of activities on his birthday. He is planning to launch his own website, a portal where fans can come and interact with him.

The actor as a prelude to setting up the Vikram Foundation is donating his eyes along with 1001 fans to the Kasi eye bank.

Vikram, at the moment has completed 50 percent of the magnum opus Kanthaswamy, his big Diwali release this year. He has signed up to do the Tamil version of Mani Ratnam’s new film in Hindi with Abhishek and Aiswarya Rai. In principle Vikram has agreed to work with six other directors as and when time permits.

Vikram celebrated his birthday on April 17 and also launched his own website at a special birthday bash arranged in Chennai.

The star-actor who always craves for variety is all set to do Maniratnam’s film. "Yes, it is true that we have discussed a project. It is in the pipeline. At this moment, this is all I can reveal," he said.

Can anyone compare a movie with Brokeback mountain ? If they do compare, does that mean that movie deserves the awards won by BM ? Vikram- Nayan- Ravikumar together?

It’s not official. Vikram’s next film after Kanthaswamy is said to be a quickie with K.S Ravikumar, one of the most successful commercial directors in Kollywood for producer Mohan Natarajan. Ravikumar has a reputation for being fast and churning out hits in record time (before Dasavatharam).

Vikram will complete the talkie portion of his under production Kanthaswamy by middle of July and then move over to this new project, said to be a "fun filled action entertainer". The buzz is that Nayanthara is likely to be the heroine though there is no official confirmation from the actress. But the news is that discussions are on and if she can squeeze in dates for the project, Nayan will be paired with Vikram for the first time.

He has allotted 45 days for the shoot, and Ravikumar is sure to complete the film in a single schedule. Meanwhile Vikram's Mani Ratnam film will start rolling in November. The buzz is that Mani's film with Vikram is a Tamil version of his ambitious "Lajjo", with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor which was scrapped after Aamir and Mani had differences over the script.

A Dream Cast for his next film


After Guru in 2007, Master Craftsman Manirathnam is back with his next venture. As expected it will be a bilingual in Hindi and Tamil. The film yet to be titled will have Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead role in Hindi and for the first time, Vikram will star in Mani's film. The actor who is busy completing his forthcoming biggie 'Kandasamy' will play the lead in the Tamil Version. Understandably Vikram is all excited and upbeat on working with Maniratnam.

Mani' find and favourite Aishwarya Rai plays the female lead in both the versions. Well, Mani's films always have some pack of surprises in terms of casting and this film is no different. Prithviraj is donning the baddie cap in both the versions.

Whats more, its a dream team in the making with Ace Cameraman P C Sreeram and Manirathnam join g hands after a long break. The duo was last seen rocking in Alaipayudey. No prizes for guessing the Man Music for the film. Yes, A R Rahman. Shooting of the film is likely to commence in September this year

Ace director Mani Ratnam will script the biggest ever deal in the history of South Indian Cinema, for a three version film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

According to source Mani Ratnam's production company Madras Talkies is in the final round of negotiation for huge Rs.120 Crore deal with the Anil Ambani run Reliance Entertainment Big Picture, for negative rights of all the three versions. According to close sources from the industry, if this deal happens, it will be the biggest ever for a South Indian Film.

Mani Sir as he is known in Kollywood, has been working on this script ever since the release of his super hit Guru in Jaunary, 2007.

Reportedly the Hindi version will have Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai in the lead and Govinda in a negative role. The Telugu and Tamil versions will have Vikram in the male lead, while Aishwarya will be the common heroine in all three languages.

He is teaming up with the photographer and friend-partner of his earlier ventures (Aalayam), PC Sreeram and his own discovery AR Rahman.


Dream combo actually, Mani-Vikram-ARR-PCSreeram and Prithiviraj as a villain to boot. Hope he doesn't steal Vikram's thunder in the film

It is going to be a tight rope walk for her as she has to juggle her dates with Shankar's Rajinikanth extravaganza 'Robot', during the same period.

And the role being done by Govinda would be essayed by Pritviraj, who actually started his career in Tamil in a villain's role in Kana Kandein. There are rumours that Karthik who last worked with Mani in Agninakshthram, will also be roped in to play an important role. Priya Mani too will be playing a role in the film which will start rolling in Karaikudi from September 10, and will also be shot in the forests of Madhya Pradesh.

Mani's all time favourite and his 'discovery' A.R Rahman will be composing songs for this film which has now become one of the hottest projects in the country. Ace cameraman Manikandan who is now shooting for Priyadarsan's Biloo Barber in Pollachi will be the cameraman.

Mani sir as usual was unavailable for comment and Reliance Entertainment Big Picture spokesman in Chennai too refused to talk about the deal.

Star Dust: Vignettes from the Fringes of the Film Industry, winner of the National Book Award for best film book, is an enjoyable account of people from the fringes of Kollywood. The book (by India Penguin) uses short, vivid sketches to look sympathetically and curiously at those who remain in "the shadows of the arc lights" in Indian cinema. Roopa Swaminathan, the author, profiles extras, fans, dancers, sound recordists, production managers, editors, assistant directors, character actors and item girls. Her style is journalistic more than academic, and her prose is simple but entertaining.

A search for the words `fan-club' typed on Google”, she notes, “comes up with over 61,000 hits. And pretty much all of them have the following two words in them: Tamil Nadu," The first chapter deals with rasigar manrams. She asks why fan clubs are rampant in Chennai but not Mumbai, and provides interesting answers. She notes that everyone in Tamil Nadu makes a clear either-or choice when it comes to heroes: "You either like Sivaji or MGR. Kamal or Rajnikant, Ajit or Vijay... the fact is everyone in Tamil Nadu is a fan."

The book evokes the dreams, hopes and agonies of three die-hard fans — Nacchamathu, a Rajini fan, Thirunavukkarasu, a Vijay fan who has to debate the merits of Vijay with his father who happens to be a fervent Rajini believer, and Parthiban, who starves himself if he fails to remember from which Rajini movie a particular scene on television is from. The chapters that follow on extras and dancers is equally fascinating and revealing. In a seedy apartment in Kodambakkam, the author interviews a trio of giggling, buxom, dark, thick-waisted dancers. And it is just as we had guessed: they have a hard life, perennially living on the edge, emotionally and sexually wasted. Models — college girls trained in contemporary dance - who do it not for the money but for kicks are their biggest threat. The newer choreographers in Bollywood prefer "models" to the traditional dancers. Veteran choreographers in the South — Kala Master and Brinda, however, are fiercely protective of these dancers and "are derisive of the choreographers in Mumbai who dismiss dancers from the south as being dark and fat and unattractive. Both firmly believe that the dancers from Mumbai are no patch on the ones from the south and claim that most of their dancers are trained classical dancers and therefore superior to their counterparts up north."

"Dancers" also looks at the burgeoning soft porn film industry, beginning with Silk Smitha (whose real name we learn was Vijayalaxmi) and her suicide, to Mumtaz and then Shakeela who charges 35,000 for a day's work. In "Technicians", Swaminathan turns her attention to outsiders who became insiders — key people in the industry whose actual work we know little about: superstar Telegu producer A.M. Ratnam, Dharani, the director of "Dhool" and "Gilli" (a polio victim who made it against great odds, it was Dharani as an assistant director in Yajamaan who introduced the familiar Rajini trademark of the swishing angavastram.) sound recordist Anand who uses sync sound, art director Sabu Cyril, production manager Nazeer and dubbing artist Savitha who has dubbed for Jyothika, Sheha, Vasundhara and Meera Jasmine.

"Assistants" looks at those intrepid hopefuls — assistant and associate directors poised in the shadow of the arc light. The last chapter, "The Vikram Story", is a slight departure, stylistically and thematically, from the book's premise: Roopa switches to the first person, shaping the new superstar Vikram's words into autobiography. Kanthasamy only in summer of 2009!

Vikram's super hero film Kanthasamy, produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and directed by Susi Ganesan will now release only in the summer of 2009 (April to June).

Remember that the film was launched with a lot of fanfare including a trailer more than a year back? At that time they said the film will release on April 14, 2008, then it became Diwali, still no sign of the film.

In an interview, Susi Ganesan has said: "Kanthasamy is a superman like story with a logical twist. Fantasy and realism are mixed in the story to make it a commercial entertainer."

The shoot of the film has been going on for a year. Susi Ganesan says the delay was due to the time taken for the shoot of the film and now its post production work as a lot of special effects are involved.

Added Susi Ganesan: " It is definitely going to be 2009's biggest movie. The post production work is going on in full swing. All that remains is a flashback scene and a song that will be shot in Italy."

The audio of the film which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, is being launched in January. Kanthasamy is sure going to be Kollywood's next big thing.

Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is in the "City of Joy" Kolkata, to shoot for his new film Raavana. Scenes involving Vikram and Aiswarya Rai are being shot in the streets of the city where Mani has last shot for his Aayudha Ezhuthu (Yuva). Cameraman Manikandan will also film certain portions on the streets of Kolkatta. The mystery about the shoot is that nobody knows whether it is Hindi or Tamil version that they are shooting as Vikram is villain in the Hindi version and hero in Tamil!
