I recently saw the movie 'Atonement' where the sound of the typewriter is used for BGM in an interesting fashion. I am trying to recall songs/BGM from our own TFM that are just as innovative. I am able to recall
1. the joggers' footsteps in Nenjaththai Killadhae (Paruvamae)
2. the train whistle in Dhalapadhi (Chinna thaayaval prelude)

Any other suggestions?

I was watching a comedy scene last week in sun music. it was involving surili rajan and manorama. whenever surili thinks of his dream wife, there will be an awesome BGM with westernised humming by manorama(?). I was very impressed by that piece and was appreciating the MD - MSV assuming then. But now i came to know this week that MD of that movie is none other than our raaja!
Man...i have no words to praise him...what a creativity and innovation of music in a comedy scene....he is simply great...please do listen to that if anyone has a chance!

In Sigappu Rojakkal, the nephew of the girl (who worked for Kamal earlier) searches and looks out for the guy who was seen with her at the bar, he comes to Kamal's office along with Bhagyaraj and asks his permission to check out the staff. When Bhagyaraj check outs one by one, bass guitar alone was used in the scene. It was excellent.

friends, I happened to watch VETRI VIZHA recently - the titles have a very interesting unsusual IR theme song! a very sober, almost pathos version of the original robust "Marugo" song - and IR has sung it in something that sounds like Konkani since the titles are against the backdrop of Goa!! mesmerising flute piece too!

I think BR should try to remake it with minor changes to suit current realities and featuring some better artists, keeping the music same & this will be received much better...

A neat idea. However, BR should only 'executive produce' it and not direct it. Needs a fresh uncluttered mind to re-imagine this movie.

Excellent tribute to one of the best ever scores in TFM :

Thank you Joe for providing this link (in the NT thread in TF section)!

Very nice selection / descriptions for the BGM pieces by this blogger. The comments below also show how emotionally appealing this movie is (my all-time fav among TF, very original / poetic movie. Balki got a little bit inspired from this movie for his Cheeni kum I think, there are even scenes resembling the "rock-lifting" one)

yes - i was of the opinion that MK had a terrific BGM and i liked the second half of the movie !

It had apt songs and the BGM in the second half is just superbbbb !

Sometime ago , i think venky had posted the BGMs , but then well gate had asked to remove it so that they can be happy of the fact that they will never release the BGM nor will they allow us to enjoy the BGM through our own efforts !
