Actually, idhu inge vara koodadhu but vera enga podaradhunu theriyala. Since I watched this scene as part of a comedy program, using 'teknik fault' technique, I'll post this here:

Caught a comedy scene on SUN TV from Ullam Kollai Pogudhe, the one in the hospital following the lightning strike on Vivek and an associate. Vivek tries to raise some laughs channelling Guna in the round-and-round walk speaking fast. While it turned out to be extremely unfunny, I noticed that the background score was channeling "Partha Vizhi", which is a predictable way of handling that scene. But what gladdened me was that unlike Chennai-28, where the original Bg score was literally played, here Karthik Raja was actually playing a delightful variation, with just a hint towards Paartha Vizhi, thus bringing out that "yes, this is like Guna but this is not Guna". Subtle work - and as it happens with subtle work, gone unnoticed. That boy has talent!

Gounds is unique ofcourse. You can still call him anti-thangavelu in one sense that it was thangavelu's policy to not make fun of the infirmities of others etc. No wonder I caught prabhu ram ridiculing thangavelu as unfunny, which indeed he was for me too, somewhere in the hub.
VK Ramasamy, while being extremely unfunny, deserves a small pin kurippu as a pre-koundamani subscriber to this school - the man famously dubbed Senthil as "arisi moottaikku andraayar potta maadhiri irukke".

Whenever I see Santhanam's scenes, I get remainded of Hubbers view...... he is unfit to be called as a comedian.. but for me, he gives good :rotfl: / :lol: than some of the present day comedy scenes.

He may lack the variation & notable body language compared to others.. but the dialogues given to him & the way he delivers with lazyness is enough for me to laugh.

Couple of scenes I enjoyed in Polladhavan:

Dhanush: innaikku climate nalla irukkulla :)
Santhanam: (thuni kaaya potuttu) aamama.. veyyil sureernu adikkudhu :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Also, as I say always, I feel he follows Gounder's style.. atleast in the way he tries to delivers his dialouge.

Sathyan is a far better comedian than so and so. He rocked in Mayavi. Excellent timings and his facial expressions are quite funny.

Comedy is the most vulnerable to be used again. Just like how we used to imitate EKSI from Chandramukhi before other comedians started to do that.

In Vivek's case, this comedy can be enjoyed unless he has outrightly copied the whole comedy scene or if it is not in good taste.
