Hello,
the following threads are much discussed in the kavithaikaL section. May I take the liberty in proposing to get these threads to be migrated ?This is not my list.. This special effort was taken by Geno who has sent this as a posting long ago. I might have missed some of the very good threads. Sorry for that. Friends, please give your thread's id asap.
Thanks and regards

Srimangai! :)

Thanx for your efforts! But i guess you haven't seen this thread - in the old hub kavithaigal section :

http://www.forumhub.com/poems/13463.01.08.52.html

Where we have been specifying all the threads that we want to be moved into this new hub! :)
-------------------------------------------------

RR!

Thanx for moving most of the threads that we have asked for there :)

These 4 threads were started by me at the old hub - but were shelved because of the miscreants 'thiruviLaiyAdal'!

Please see if you can restore them :

1) Meen santhai(geno)
http://www.forumhub.com/poems/16491.05.12.37.html

2) inam - by vairamuthu (geno)

4) soothirappatti AdugaLum, ejamAnum(geno)
http://forumhub.com/poems/19117.18.26.58.html

I would go thru the other thread list - and see if there is anything that has been left out and give my feedback :)

RR,

Those 4 threads that were started by me - which have been till now - kept in suspension - becoz of the sabotage of the miscreants.

i now find that during the migration - while cleaning up the "mess" of the miscreants - who had used my handlle "geno" to post some filthy content in many threads where i had commented - even my GENUINE posts with my handle "geno" have been deleted per se.

This pains me no end. :(

I now find that many threads were i had commented or posted, do not have my comments.

"thirumbiya pinnum"
http://forumhub.lunarpages.com/hub/viewtopic.php?t=285

Many of my comments missing from this thread. :(

"njaapaka mazhai"
http://forumhub.lunarpages.com/hub/viewtopic.php?t=277

and many more threads too.

my comments r missing here too. :(

Isnt there a way to re instate my original genuine comments/posts and just deleting the "mess" created by those miscreants??? :(

It makes strange reading the reactions to my comments in these threads from other participants - but not my comments at all!!!

For your info most of my genuine posts would have IPs that begin with "61.x.x.xx" - and i remember seldom the miscreants had any IPs resembling this kind IP of mine.

geno,

all posts that you find in the pages have been transferred. Let me know if anything has been left out. But if it is not in the original pages, then there's no way sorry. I know it's a pain, but it's the price paid for the nasty things done by mmc & gang. I don't remember deleting your posts, it could've been the other moderator.

I'll try to recover your 4 deleted threads, though.

RR,

When i was counting the number of pages in each thread - i was able to read all my GENUINE posts in those threads - that is in the original old hub threads.

But after migration to here , those threads dont have my genuine posts - it seems someone sumarily deleted all posts with the handly "geno" just coz the filthy gang used my handle (albeit with proxy IPs) to post despicable content :(

But as i have said, 99% of my genuine posts had the IP as like "61.x.x.x" which was NOT the case with those sabotage gang's posts. They had been posted from proxy IPs unlike mine.

Cant you please look in this angle please.

My genuine posts WERE there in the old hub threads, but most of them have disappeared after this migration to here. :(

And thanx for considering to restore those 4 of my deleted threads :)

geno,

do you mean you saw those posts till last Friday, and they disappeared after migration? Then, it's definitely possible to get them.

I don't think any posts were deleted during the last week at old forum hub.

RR,

Since those original comments made by geno have been there in those threads in the old hub, I feel something has gone wrong during the migration process. Kindly try to fix it.

Thanks

RR,

In these pages of "thirumbiya pinnum" in old hub - my posts are missing:

1) http://forumhub.com/poems/27666.11577.06.06.57.html

From this page - this 1 post is missing - in the equivalent thread in new hub:

>> From: geno (@ 61.1.202.167) on: Fri Mar 19 16:55:52 EST 2004

2) http://forumhub.com/poems/20856.11577.06.06.57.html

From this page - These 2 posts are missing - in the equivalent thread in new hub:

>> From: geno (@ 61.1.201.224) on: Sat Mar 20 09:45:02 EST 2004

>> From: geno (@ 61.1.202.50) on: Wed Mar 31 16:41:04 EST 2004

================================================== ==============================================

And for 'njaapaka mazhai' my post in that thread's first page is missing - in the new hub.

>> From: geno (@ 61.1.200.7) on: Wed Apr 21 18:54:55 EDT 2004

================================================== =========================

In the "kadavuLum nAnum" thread - in the new hub:

http://forumhub.lunarpages.com/hub/viewtopic.php?t=270&start=0

My first post in that thread on April 5-6 of 2004 - is missing from the first page

In the second page of that thread too 1 post is missing ( posted on april 8,2004 )

http://forumhub.lunarpages.com/hub/viewtopic.php?t=270&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

( i couldn't open the old format of this thread - but i know atleast these 2 posts of mine are missing from this thread)

=============================================

Some posts of mine have been transferred properly in these threads and some others have been missing - so i hope this can be corrected.

Let me check if any other specific posts are missing in other threads..

gosh! the new hub pages take a lot of time to open :( - so i'm not able to do this at one go :(

RR

RR,

I have a few suggestions!

1. Can we access the moved threads' Old format equivalent threads - from the old hub for 1 more week - so that we can just go there and check if there are any posts which have been left out in the new hub's equivalent threads?? (you can disable posting any new responses in those "old format" threads which have been moved here)

2. Please give a "shortcut" to the "Posting in Tamil" topic in the "hub announcements" forum - in this Poems forum - as a separate sticky topic on top.

This will be of immense help for people who despearately need to find out how to read and write posts here in poems forum.

3. Most ppl. find it hard to post in TSCII. can you please think of implementing a wrapper - so that we can directly post using TSCII text?

Unicode works just fine i know! But i find that not many ppl. here - are willing to take it up coz - it means keep switiching back & forth to reading posts made in TSCII & Unicode - by switching the user-encoding options in the browser!!! :D :D

( Thats why i asked abt viewing Unicode & TSCII posts without changing the encoding in my initial response in 'posting in tamil' thread!!

"Red kannadi pOttu koNdu green-il pAkka kekkiringa nu" neenga kindal panninga!! :D :D )

Thanx & regards

still trying.

why do you do that? Just set the browser to default encoding. It shd display both unicode, tscii and any other fonts fine.

3. Most ppl. find it hard to post in TSCII. can you please think of implementing a wrapper - so that we can directly post using TSCII text?

I think I did it. Try typing with eKalappai keyman set to TSC anjal.

But you still need to enclose in [ tscii ] tags for people who have not set browser to user-defined. Also works only with tcs_avarangal for now.

RR!

thats great!

Now i can directly type in the reply box!

But :

* Irrespective of the user-encoding being "auto-select"/"western europen(windows)/"western europen(ISO)/"User-defined" -- the thamizh text looks jumbled IF it is NOT enclosed in the tscii tags.

But its ok, since now i can atleast SEE what is there in the reply box and am happy!!

And thanx for reminding the "auto-select" option! I checkd it and it works fine with both unicode & TSCII text - that is - i can READ both Unicode & TSCII texts - in the "auto select" encoding :)

basically posts a bit big in size had been filtered out. Now posts upto 15K bytes are allowed. See, the new thirumbiya pinnum thread and tell me if it's ok.

I'll be redoing this for existing threads only if people request it. It takes a lot of time. But all threads migrated henceforth wil be fine.

RR,

Thanks for your considering reviving them :)

Its ok! may be i can add those threads afresh.

That new "Meen santhai" thread was not the original one that was "lost" during the June 2004 sabotage. I started a new thread for that particular kavithai - just in the first week of october - and invariably that was attacked too by the "miscreants" just before the migration of tha poems forum. :?

Anyway thanx for reviving this thread. :)

And one more thing - there seems to be a new ID "geno." ( that is geno followed by a dot) which has been registered - and that ID was used to post soome fundamnetalist messages at this thread of mine in the NEW HUB.

http://forumhub.lunarpages.com/hub/viewtopic.php?t=209

I would like you to NOT admit any special characters in the USER_ID - other than the Underscore("_") in the new hub. That woulld prevent the miscreants from creating IDs which conspicuously look like original hubbers ID.

Thans & regards

geno :)
