Anyway, super audienceku en thanks.

It went this way :

Just before the day of the shoot channel had informed each contestant should bring 50 supporters. Roshan's dad was desparate. Eppovume he had not more than 3 during the shoot. So I spoke to my friends in Chennai and with the help of one aachi, could manage some 15 people. Thats OK, they have full day free time.

My next call was to TM and MS. Though I was feeling guilty of asking them to go as Roshan's supporters during a working day, I still requested and both of them immediately obliged without any hesitation and with whole heart :bow:

Thank you Madhu and TM. You people being there was infact a strength to me too apart from Roshan and family.

But as usual the gumbal from Shravan's and NS's family occupied the vantage positions and refused to move inspite of channel telling them to leave the place atleast while other contestants are singing.

So our dear friends and supporters of Roshan had to take seat in another location which is not well lit and the camera is not focussed properly. All were asked to come in black as that was the colour given by the channel for Roshan's supporters, and due to this also one of our main supperter was not easily seen.

The channel could have taken more care and interest to project the supporters of every kid. Or our friends could have made a drama / dance to attract the camera towards them. This is always welcome by the channel.

I really feel sad that our friends were not seen in the telecast, inspite of their full support the whole day. Sorry madhu and TM, and thank you once again for taking your day off to attend the show. Madhu attended with her parents and thanks to them too.

Anyway, in the next opportunity, I would love all hubbers to be in the shoot and extend our support to the contestants and also enjoy the music and the dramas staged there. Oru hub meet potudalam. Pictures post panradhukku bathila episode link potudalaam........... :ty: :ty: :ty:

The judges are now saying that SN and NS should take quality songs. Idha munneye solli irundha nalla irukkum. Earlier they were dancing along with them and brought them until the semi finals covering their mistakes. The kids are not to be blamed as they were carried away by the sugar coated comments and never bothered to try tough or classic songs.

Dont worry Jyo, you will have Srikanth in the finals shouting and acting to win the title. He will definitely come out victorious in the wild card. If they have another lady Srikanth then again its a competition between the direct finalists only.

Dont be shocked if he wins the title. Adhu mudiyalaina second place kuduthuduvanga again at the cost of another good singer.

Hope you witnessed the episode y/day. The classical round with Nithyashree VS Roshan and Western round of NS Vs shravan.

Sowkyama kanne by NS and Vedham Anuvilum oru nadham by Roshan along with Dr.Nithyashree Mahadevan....

NS gave a nice performance, whatever she could, as this is not her fort.

Roshan was at his best y/day with such a difficult song, and aalaps that come as a female part was also rendered by him so beautifully... (Came to know Nithyasree madam asked him to sing that portion too)

It was a pity that judges did not give any credit on his rendition of the aalap.

Hi, second day of semi final.

Roshan konjam emathittan. He did a great mistake of carrying the lyrics in hand, which no other contestant has done in any of the rounds. This shows lack of concentration and practice. We cannot support his saying voice strain, throat problem, late night practice or any such things as others also undergo these things and the stress is not only for him.

Melody is his fort and adhula sariya perform pannadhadhu is not acceptable. The feel in the song was greatly missing, which is the main focus in the song. (I told this too many times to him and at one point I felt why am I telling this so many times ??? :hammer: to me and roshan.)

Pon ondru kanden by Shravan was a simple song and rendered neatly.

In the classical round, Alka was shattered. May be her overconfidence of all these days worked against her and though her 7 swarangals sounded nice, there were lot of problems in shruthi, rendition and mainly the lyrics. But still judges gave a very good score. (ofcourse the song is a very tough one and Nithyashree's help in change of raga with the swarams was a good idea).

Minsara poove of shravan was good....good rendition but edho onnu missing (andha songoda charm was missing ????) The end when shravan, nithyashree and another voice giving the jathi ellam serndhu padina piece was not appealing at all. It was very noisy and did not blend well. Its my humble opinion only.

It is true and it should not be taken as a mistake. But the problem is the concentration surely gets affected when you start looking at the lyrics and I think it was quit visible in Roshan's singing last night (I have not seen it yet). And specially for Roshan since he is not conversant with the language and lyrics are in English the focus goes more towards the paper. It should surely be avoided for his own sake

But stage performances are getting too much of appreciation and this season has seen too many dances and dramas on stage - which surely are reducing the quality of the show. In any case I am not for these dances and I am really happy that Roshan has not wasted his efforts in resorting to such antics.

idhula divya unni, geethu mohandas or Boban or some such actors/actresses come as guest judge, their judgement is solely based on "your expression when you sang that was not right". Eh? ippO enna adoor gopalakrishnan padathukku auditionA pandrAnga?

குரலுக்கான தேடல் நிகழ்ச்சியில் பாடும் திறன் தாண்டிய சில விடயங்களுக்கு நடுவர்கள் முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பதாக குறை பட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறோம் .பாடும் திறன் போட்டியில் பாடும் திறன் மட்டுமே கணக்கில் எடுத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்கிறோம் ..இதில் எனக்கு 100% உடன்பாடு உண்டு.

Joe, I agree with this. I'd never consider "humility", "politeness" etc as requirements.
However, the difference is that while our biases and external reasons go only to the extent of rants in forums, a judge using an external reason directly affects the participant. And they are actually saying that to the participants that "you didnt dance well" etc which puts the wrong thought in the participants' mind and suppose he goes on to focus on these non-essentials, and ends up neglecting his singing skills, what then?
I dont get to see much of the tamil singing competitions however viewing on youtube, I found this curious case - Raginisri. I absolutely dont know much about this but there is one Raginisri in Jaya TV in SPB's program and one in Vijay TV Super Singer. Are these two the same?

If so, explain me this. The one in Jaya TV seems a conservative, diffident, traditional one focussing more on the singing part, and the one in Vijay TV seems more focussed on costume, styling and excesses like that. While I'd be the last to comment on someone's lifestyle choices evolving over a period of time, and I am absolutely fine with the traditional half-saree giving way to a much mroe cosmopolitan costume, my point is this - SPB runs a programme which focusses only on the singing and it seems like this contestant focussed on that while in his programme whereas when she moved to Vijay TV, the focus shifted to frills. Is it because that is how the Vijay TV programme is run with more focus on frills?

Ofcourse, the theory falls flat if the two Raginisris are two different individuals

(Note that I am not commenting on the singing quality - per se, there is not much difference in what it was in SPB's programme to the Vijay TV programme)

They are quite capable of balancing both and that's the reason why the show has more reach compared to all other musical contests that are shown on Thamizh channels. Raaginisri was the winner in SPB's show (that's what someone mentioned here during ASS - Senior) but she could not reach even the top 5 in ASS. Vijay TV basically used her for entertainment and TRP purposes. Kadaisila finals'ku vantha 3 pErum - appadiyE asaiyaama oru idathula ninnu paaduRavanga.

These guys have to watch vanampadi(spb program) - HHe takes atmost attempt to make them feel easy and dont hurt them to any extent.Very easy atmosphere and he also gives his suggestion and eliminates people from the competition.

I had the same feeling when I learnt about this rapid fire round. In semi 1 - they eliminated the one who scored the least and there was only 1 point difference between her and the one before the last. Inga 8 points difference but rapid fire round :x

Alka, Shravan and Roshan should have been declared as finalists together !!!!

I feel they should have had the rapid fire between Nithyasree and Srinisha as both were semi-finalists, and having them up to this level, they should have competed against each other. This would have given another chance to Srinisha also. The winner of this tie breaker can enter the Wild card directly - nu solli irukkalaam.

But anyway, I am glad this contest is coming to an end. The next two weeks will have all the eliminated contestants fight for a place in the actual wild card round and to enter the finals.....

Fans can see the Master actor Srikanth in action and also winning !!!!!

Agreed ! Just finished watching the videos and felt sorry for both the kids. And both of them should take a bow for the way they conducted themselves on stage - also the parents. The comments from both dads before they started vote counting were simple and nice - with NS's dad saying the best would win and Roshan's dad saying it was a new experience and he liked the whole excercise. NS was really sweet and so was Roshan when he said that he is confident that she would make it through wild card.

Eventhough I knew the result already - when I was watching the videos it was really overwhelming to see Roshan walking towards his seat allocated to the finalists with the boquet. Happy moment :D

Regarding the performances - both did well but Roshan was as usual ahead in all 3 songs - specially with Sundhari KaNNaal oru sEdhi.

Yes I have to agree that she is better than Alka too. Alka has some very strong limitations which have got camouflaged by some wise moves by the judges and Vijay TV team. It got highlighted a bit during the semi finals. Let us see how it goes. And I certainly have problems with Alka's voice as I feel she lacks originality. She kinda mimics the original singer. I have heard that she is been singing in a troop since the age of 3. People who sing for light music troops always have this problem of mimicking the original singer and not having their own voice. Original voice is very important if any one wants to hold a name in the field of music. Alka surely lacks that.

Need to say that Srihari and Vishnu Charan also did really well - but Vishun literally rocked with Kaadhalikka NEramillai. Srinivas just spoke my mind in his comments. Vishnu was brilliant. Glad that they chose both Priyanka and Vishnu for the next round. Bad luck for Srihari. Though he performed well, Vishnu certainly had an edge over him.

Prasanna Sundhar was pathetic with Minsara PoovE and Sharath was horrible with Sangeedha Jaadhi mullai. Sahana too took something very heavy and she could not manage it properly. All this kids have thought that singing semi classical based songs would be the best way to get selected but it all back fired badly. Priyanka and Vishnu sang non classical based songs which suited their voice and that helped them present the song well. As Srini said, there is no hard and fast rule that you need to choose classical songs to prove yourself. That's really true. Quality song is important but quality does not mean classical alone.

I am talking about Monday and Tuesday episodes only. Srihari and others were asked to perform another round (Wednesday and Thursday) and one would get selected from that. He was good in the first round but Vishnu Charan surely did better with kaadhalikka nEramillai. I really enjoyed his rendition - so casual, so confident and the modulations were perfect. And as Srini very rightly said he was the best among all with regard to Thamizh diction. I always felt that his elimination in the initial rounds was a bit pre matured. He was surely better than Prasanna Sundhar, Sharath and Bala Sarangan.

The whole performance is a treat and I particularly liked the part from 3:12 to 3:32 - which starts with maamiyaar kodumai illai . The great thing about the rendition is the modulation. He did so well like a mature singer.

Another abominable one is the malayalee singer Chithra. Beying a judge, she outrightly supports Alka Ajith, another malayalee girl. When this Alka performed very badly the other day, this biased judge Chithra came to her rescue and gave 10 marks so that she could able to enter the finals. What a shame :shock: :cry:

I attended the shoot of the finals yesterday and I will post my views later once the grand finale is done. Since it was the finals many celebrities attended the shoot including hte ones from the previous seasons. I spoke to Vijay Narayanan and he told me that he is now in ARR's chorus group and was part of the semmozhi song. Video'la kooda irukkathaa sonaar. He has sung an English song for a thamizh movie (pattapatti or something like that). He was nice and simple and very cool. I spoke to Prasanna too.

I personally feel that Roshan was not promoted properly comparing to the rest. Even Mano who talks and exclaims much for Srikanth's absurd performances, was giving very few appreciations for the Roshan's genuine show. Celebrities who came for the show are supposed to promote their favorite contestants.Divyadharsini and Priyadharsini for Roshan did not speak much either.

Adding to this at the end of his performance, his dad,mom,hubber Roshan and another person came to the stage for canvassing.Understandably Roshan's dad did not speak much as he is a malayalee, our hubber Roshan and another person spoke something, but that was edited. :evil:

Without much talent Srikanth has already ate Priyanka's position, took 1 L from Roshan and now giving tough competition to the deserved title winner. Our spectators gets easily impressed! :sigh2:

Nithyasree, Srikanth and Roshan sang Rajaji's "Kurai Ondrum Illai", one of the greatest songs ever, sung by M.S Amma. Srikanth's singing was horrendous - poor kid, its as much an embarrassment and injustice for him as it is for the other contestants and viewers. The irony was that he was selected as the wild card winner.
