Prabhu,

KSR's first movie Puriyadha Pudhir itself was only in 1990. Chinna Gounder was released for Pongal 1992. Cheran Pandiyan not sure whether it was in 1991 or 92. May be 91.

Oh !

Okay but I think CP was surely earlier than CG.

I remember because we bought a VCR in 1991 and that time we used to get 'Dubai' prints of new tamil movies. CG was among the first to watched - the first being for auspicious reasons thiruvuLayadal :-) . Whereas CP was surely pre-VCR.

As Bala(CR) often used to point out in his blog, he knows many from the lower strata, who could observe and appreciate nuances in Kamal films that many of the privileged sections cant.
Ahaa, idha gavanikkala... appadiya sonnen...

I thought he was kinda good in that movie with Revathi...CJ was the hero  aana chinna payan madhiri nadiparu. He commits suicide in the end I think.

But more than anything, I really wished the late Raghuvaran had a better career when he was alive. I thought he was brilliant in Anjali  The scene where he tells the daughter about Anjali paapa was too :cry2:

He was also the only villain who hardly fight...he doesn't need to anyway. His charismatic appearance and dialogue delivery was more than enough to portray the villainous roles. And the character roles he did in his later years was awesome. Movies like Aaha, Roja Kootham and the-not-so recent YNM are the proof of how an actor can be subtle and yet create a great impact on the viewers.

Wished his life didn't turned out to be so tragic. May he rest in peace :notworthy:

He's still acting as a hero...well, at least in Malayalam movies. In any case why are only the heroes being talked about? There are way too many heroines who should have had a better career in the film world too.
