Just finished watching it. This one is a must watch for Thalaivar fans. KSR, Suresh Krissna and SPM share a lot of interesting information about thalaivar. Few tidbits:

* Shankar was initially apprehensive about doing a film with Rajini and it was KSR who convinced him by saying, 'avar thangam'. Later during the shoot of the BOSS when KSR met Shankar, this is what the latter said abour Rajini - 'romba thangamaa irukkaarunga ivaru'

* KSR had the oppurtunity to spend a few days with thalaivar in Bangalore. They were freely roaming in the streets of Bangalore interacting with the public. Thalaivar in disguise of course.

* Suresh Krishna was working under KB sir on 'Ek Duje Keliye' when he met Rajini for the first time. The first thing Rajini said to him was - "Kamal oru periya talent, make sure his talent reaches everywhere. Padam hit aaganum".

* During Veera Rajini will be seen with a thundu in his mouth in many scenes because he could not hide his laughter when Senthil was performing / saying dialogues. Mannan, unnaviratham scene is a classic example.

* The most important of all, "naan eppO varuvEn epdi varuvEn" dialogue from Muthu was written by KSR and Rajini refused to mouth that initially. KSR wanted Rajini to take the plunge and thats why he wrote such lines in that film. Vairamuthu had earlier confirmed that 'endha katchi namma katchi' was not liked by Rajini but they forced him to include that. So the statement, Rajini exploiting his fans by showing *politics* interest is FALSE. :clap: :thumbsup:

KSR: 16V, Batsha, Padayappa (It was thalaivar who wanted to give equal importance to Neelambari)
SPM: Murattukkalai, 6 to 60, Sri Raghavendra
SKris: Annamalai, Batsha, Baba.

On Baba, SK said Rajini sir's script was phenomenal except the climax and the politics bits.

ரஜினியும் திரையிசையும் - Rajini Birthday Special 5
2010-Dec-14

ரஜினியின் திரைவாழ்க்கை வெற்றியில் பிரதான பங்குவகிக்கும் முக்கிய காரணிகளில் திரையிசைப் பாடல்களும் ஒன்று. இன்றைய தேதியில் ரஜினி படத்திற்கு எந்த மாதிரிப் பாடல்களை போட்டாலும் அவை ஹிட்டாகிவிடும், இது இன்றைய ரஜினியின் 'மாஸ்' பவர், ஆனால் அன்றைய ரஜினியின் வெற்றிக்கு முத்தான திரையிசைப் பாடல்கள் மிக முக்கியமான பங்களிப்பை செய்தன என்பது யாருமே மறுக்க முடியாதது. அந்தவகையில் ரஜினியின் திரையிசைப் பாடல்களுக்கு இசையமைத்தவர்கள், பின்னணி பாடியவர்கள், பாடல்களை எழுதியவர்கள் என மூன்று பிரிவினருமே மறக்க கூடாதவர்கள். இவர்கள் பற்றிய பார்வையே இந்தப்பதிவு.

எம்.எஸ்.விஸ்வநாதன்

ரஜினியின் முதல் திரைப்படமான 'அபூர்வராகங்கள்' திரைப்படத்திற்கு இசையமைத்திருந்த எம்.எஸ்.வி அவர்கள் ரஜினியின் முதல் வாயசைவிற்கு இசையும் குரலும் கொடுத்தவர். மூன்று முடிச்சு திரைப்படத்தில் "மண வினைகள் யாருடனோ!! மாயவனின் விதிவலைகள்" பாடல்தான் ரஜினி வாயசைத்த முதல் திரையிசைப்பாடல். அதன்பின்னர் சில பாடல்களை ரஜினிக்காக எம்.எஸ்.வி பாடியிருந்தாலும் "சம்போ சிவ சம்போ "பாடல் மிகவும் பிரபலமானவை. அபூர்வ ராகங்கள், மூன்று முடிச்சு திரைப்படங்கள் தவிர அவர்கள், நினைத்தாலே இனிக்கும், பில்லா, பொல்லாதவன், தீ, தில்லு முல்லு, ராணுவ வீரன், போக்கிரிராஜா போன்ற திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்த எம்.எஸ்.வி இறுதியாக இசையமைத்த ரஜினி படம் 'சிவப்பு சூரியன்'. ஆரம்ப காலங்களில் தனக்கு குரல் கொடுக்க முன்னணி 'பின்னணி பாடகர்கள்' தயங்கியபோது எந்தவித தயக்கமுமிலாமல் குரல் கொடுத்தவர் எம்.எஸ்.வி என்று ரஜினி அண்மையில் கூறியிருந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இளையராஜா

எத்தனை!!! எத்தனை!!! காலத்தால் அழிக்கமுடியாத அருமையான பாடல்களை ரஜினி படங்களுக்கு இளையராஜா இசையமைத்திருப்பார்!!! அப்படி ரஜினி படங்களுக்கு இளையராஜா இசையமைத்த அத்தனை பாடல்களையும் விரிவாக எழுதுவதென்றால் ஒரு தனிப்பதிவே போதாது!! முடிந்தவரை சுருக்கமாக பார்த்தால்; இளையராஜா இசையமைத்த ரஜினியின் முதல்த் திரைப்படமான 'கவிக்குயில்' திரைப்படத்தை தொடர்ந்து புவனா ஒரு கேள்விக்குறி, 16 வயதினிலே, பைரவி, இளமை ஊஞ்சல் ஆடுகிறது, முள்ளும் மலரும், பிரியா, தர்ம யுத்தம், 6 - 60 வரை போன்ற பல திரைப்படங்களுக்கும் 70 களில் இளையராஜா இசையமைத்துள்ளார். இவற்றில் பைரவி திரைப்படத்தில் "நண்டூருது நரியூருது" பாடலையும் 1980 இல் வெளிவந்த அன்னை ஓர் ஆலயம் திரைப்படத்தில் "அம்மா நீ சுமந்த பிள்ளை" பாடலையும் ரஜினிக்காக டி.எம்.சௌந்தர்ராஜன் அவர்களின் குரலில் ஒலிக்கச் செய்தது சிறப்பித்திருப்பார்.

80 களில் ரஜினியின் திரைப்படங்களில் 80 வீதமான திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்த இளையராஜாவின் இசையில் வெளிவந்த பாடல்களில் 90 வீதமானவை சூப்பர் ஹிட்டான பாடல்களே. அவற்றில் ஜானி, புதுக்கவிதை, தம்பிக்கு எந்த ஊரு, நல்லவனுக்கு நல்லவன், படிக்காதவன், குரு சிஷ்யன், வேலைக்காரன், ராஜாதிராஜா, தர்மத்தின் தலைவன் போன்ற திரைப்படங்கள் மிக முக்கியமானவை. ரஜினி நடித்த ஒரே ஆங்கிலத் திரைப்படமான BloodStone திரைப்படத்துக்கு இசையமைத்த இளையராஜா அவர்கள ரஜினி தனது திரைவாழ்வில் பாடிய ஒரே பாடலான "அடிக்குது குளிரு" பாடலை மன்னன் திரைப்படத்தில் பாடவைத்திருப்பார்.

90 களின் முற்பாதியில் பணக்காரன், அதிசயப்பிறவி, தளபதி, மன்னன், பாண்டியன், உழைப்பாளி, எஜமான், வள்ளி போன்ற திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசயமைத்த் இளையராஜா ரஜினிக்கு இறுதியாக இசையமைத்த திரைப்படம் வீரா. ரஜினிக்காக இளையராஜா பாடிய முதல்ப்பாடல் பணக்காரனில் "உள்ளுக்குள்ள சக்கரவர்த்தி" பாடல் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான்

முத்து, படையப்பா, பாபா, சிவாஜி, எந்திரன் என ரஜினியின் ஐந்து திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்த ரஹ்மான் ரஜினிக்கு ஆறாவதாக இசையமைக்கும் திரைப்பப்படம் அடுத்ததாக ரியல்பாதி, அனிமேஷன் பாதியாக ரஜினி கலக்கவிருக்கும் ஹரா திரைப்படம் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. 1995 இல் இருந்து இன்றுவரை ரஜினி நடித்துள்ள 12 திரைப்படங்களில் (ஹராவுடன் சேர்த்து) 6 திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்தவர் ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் என்பது விஷேடம். முத்து திரைப்படத்தில் ரஜினி வாயசைக்காவிட்டாலும் பின்னணியில் "விடுகதையா இந்த வாழ்க்கை" என ஹரிகரனின் குரலில் ரஜினி படமொன்றில் முதல்முறையாக பாடலொன்றை ஒலிக்கச் செய்தவர் ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

சந்திரபோஸ்

ரஜினியின் திரைப்படங்களில் மாங்குடி மைனர் திரைப்படத்தை முதல்முதலாக இசையமைத்திருந்த சந்திரபோஸ் தொடர்ந்து விடுதலை, மனிதன், ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜா திரைப்படங்களுக்கும் இசையமைத்திருந்தார். விடுதலை திரைப்படத்தில் "ஊருக்குள்ள நம்மை பற்றி கேட்டுப்பாருங்க" பாடல் மிகவும் பிரபல்யமானது. தொடர்ந்து மனிதன் , ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜா திரைப்படங்களில் அனைத்து பாடல்களுமே சூப்பர் டூப்பர் ஹிட்டாயின. 'மனிதனில்' ரஜினிக்காக எஸ்.பி.பி, ஜேசுதாஸ், மலேசியா வாசுதேவன் மூவரையும் பின்னணி குரல் கொடுக்கவைத்த சந்திரபோஸ் 'ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜா'வில் எஸ்.பி.பி, ஜேசுதாஸ், மனோ மூவரையும் பின்னணி குரல் கொடுக்க வைத்திருப்பார், ஒரு திரைப்படத்தில் ரஜினிக்கு மூன்று பேர் பின்னணி குரல் கொடுத்தது சந்திரபோசின் இசையில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க விடயம்.

ரஜினி சந்திரபோஸ் கூட்டணியல் உருவாகிய மனித, ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜா திரைப்படங்கள்தான் இளையராஜாவின் பிரிவுக்கு பின்னர் நல்ல வாய்ப்புக்காக ஏங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த வைரமுத்துவுக்கு சிறந்த வாய்ப்பாக அமைந்தது . இரண்டு திரைப்படங்களிலும் அனைத்து பாடல்களையும் வைரமுத்துவே எழுதியிருப்பார், எல்லாமே சூப்பர்ஹிட்ட்னாலும் ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜாவில் "சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரு யாரின்னு கேட்டால்" பாடல் ரசிகர்களின் மிகப்பெரும் அபிமானம் பெற்ற பாடலாக அமைந்தது.

தேவா

அண்ணாமலையில் இருந்து ரஜினி படங்கள் ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன்னர் 'SUPER STAR RAJINI' என வரும் டைட்டிலுக்கு இசையமைத்து திரையரங்கையே அதிரவைத்தவர் தேவா. 'சிவாஜி' திரைப்படத்தில் அந்த இசை மாற்றப்பட்டாலும் தேவாவின் இசையில் (காப்பியாக இருந்தாலும்) இருந்த 'கிக்' இப்போ இல்லை என்பதே உண்மை. அண்ணாமலை, பாட்ஷா என ரஜினியின் இரண்டு மெகாஹிட் திரைப்படங்களிலும் அனைத்துப் பாடல்களையும் பட்டிதொட்டியெங்கும் பிரபலாமகுமாறு இசையமைத்த தேவா இறுதியாக ரஜினிக்கு இசையமைத்த அருணாச்சலம் திரைப்படத்தில் ரஜினியின் வாயசைவில் முதல்முதலில் ஹரிகரனை "நகுமோ நகுமோ" என பின்னணி பாடவைத்திருப்பார். பாட்ஷாவின் மிகப்பெரும் வெற்றியில் தேவாவின் இசையும் முக்கிய காரணங்களில் ஒன்றென்பதை மறுக்க முடியாது.

இவர்களைத்தவிர ஐந்தி திரைப்படங்களுக்கு மேல் இசையமைத்த ஷங்கர்கணேஷ் மற்றும் எஸ்.பி.பி, விஜய பாஸ்கர், 'கொடிபறக்குது' புகழ் ஹம்சலேகா, வித்யாசாகர் போன்றோரும் ரஜினி திரைப்படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்த இசையமைப்பாளர்களில் முக்கியமானவர்கள்.

எஸ்.பி.பாலசுப்ரமணியம்

தமிழ் சினிமாவின் அதிக பாடல்களை பாடிய இந்த ஜாம்பவான்தான் ரஜினிக்கும் அதிகமான பாடல்களை பாடியவர் என்பது சிறப்பம்சம். ஆரம்பகாலம் முதல் இன்றுவரை தொடர்ந்து ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடல்களை பாடிவரும் இந்த 'முன்னணி' பாடகர் பாடிய பாடல்கள் என்றுமே காலத்தால் அழியாதவை. ரஜினிக்கு 100% ஒரு குரலென்றால் அது எஸ்.பி.பி அவர்களுடைய குரல்தான். அனைத்து வகையான பாடல்களையும் ரஜினிக்காக எஸ்.பி.பி பாடினாலும் ஆரம்பபாடல்கள் (opening song) மிகவும் பிரபலமானவை. "வந்தேண்டா பால்க்காரன்", "அதுதாண்டா இதுதாண்டா", "ஆட்டோக்காரன் ஆட்டோக்காரன்", "ஒருவன் ஒருவன் முதலாளி", "என்பேரு படையப்பா ", "தேவுடா தேவுடா", "பல்லேலக்கா பல்லேலக்கா", "புதிய மனிதா" என ரஜினிக்கு எஸ்.பி.பி 'ஆரம்பபாடல்' பாடிய அனைத்து திரைப்படங்களுமே சூப்பர் ஹிட்டான திரைப்படங்கள் என்பது விஷேடம்.

"ராமன் ஆண்டாலும்", "ராஜாவுக்கு ராஜா நான்டா", "வாழுமட்டும் நன்மைக்காக", "மை நேம் இஸ் பில்லா", "நான் பொல்லாதவன்", ""ராக்கம்மா கையை தட்டு" போன்ற பாடல்களை பாடும்போது கம்பீரமாக ஒலிக்கும் எஸ்.பி.பியின் குரல்; "காதலின் தீபம் ஒன்று", "ராத்திரியில் பூத்திருக்கும்", "சுந்தரி கண்ணால் என்ன சேதி", "வா வா இதயமே", "ஒரு ஜீவன்தான்" என காதல்ப்பாட்டு பாடும்போது கொஞ்சலாகவும்; "ராஜா சின்ன ரோஜாவோடு" , "தோட்டத்தில பாத்திகட்டி" என பாடும்போது குழந்தைத்தனமாகவும் ரஜினியே பாடுவதுபோல இருக்கும், இதுதான் எஸ்.பி.பி & ரஜினி கூட்டணியின் பலம்.

கே.ஜே .ஜேசுதாஸ்

எஸ்.பி.பி அளவிற்கு பாடவில்லை என்றாலும் அதிகமான பாடல்களை ரஜினிக்காக பாடிய பாடகர்களில் இவரும் ஒருவர். பிரியா திரைப்படத்தில் அனைத்து பாடல்களையும் ஜேசுதாஸ் அவர்கள்தான் பாடியிருப்பார்கள், அனைத்துமே சூப்பர் டூப்பர் ஹிட்டான பாடல்கள். அதேபோல 'நல்லவனுக்கு நல்லவன்' திரைப்படத்தில் "உன்னைத்தானே தஞ்சமென்று", "சிட்டுக்கும் செல்ல சிட்டுக்கும்" என மென்மையாக பாடிய ஜேசுதாஸ் "வச்சிக்கவா உண்ண மட்டும்" பாடலில் மிரட்டியிருப்பார். புதுக்கவிதையில் "வெள்ளைப் புறா ஒன்று" எனவும் அண்ணாமலையில் "ஒரு வெண்புறா" எனவும் இதயத்தை வருடும் பாடல்களை ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடிய ஜேசுதாஸ் தர்மதுரை திரைப்படத்தில் "மாசி மாசம் ஆளான பொண்ணு" பாடலில் மோகத்தையும் "அண்ண என்ன தம்பி என்ன" பாடலில் கோபத்தையும் அன்புள்ள ரஜினிகாந்த் திரைப்படத்தில் "முத்துமணி சுடரே வா" பாடலில் பாசத்தையும் பொளிந்திருப்பார். மன்னன் திரைப்படத்தில் பாடிய "அம்மா என்றழைக்காத உயிரில்லையே" பாடலால் அனைத்து இதயங்களையும் கவர்ந்தவர் ஜேசுதாஸ்.

மலேசியா வாசுதேவன்

எஸ்.பி.பிக்கு அப்புறம் ரஜினிக்கு பொருத்தமான குரலென்று மலேசியா வாசுதேவன் அவர்களின் குரலை சொல்லலாம். " பொதுவாக என் மனசு தங்கம்" எனும் பாடல்மூலம் ரஜினிக்கு மிகப்பெரும் வரவேற்ப்பை ஏற்ப்படுத்திக் கொடுத்த மலேசியா வாசுதேவன் ரஜினிக்காக அதிகமான பாடல்களை பாடியவர்களில் முக்கியமான ஒரூவர். "சுப்பண்ணா சொன்னார் அண்ணா", "நான் போக்கிரிக்கு போக்கிரி ராஜா", "ஆசை நூறு வகை", "மனிதன் மனிதன்", "வெத்தலையை போட்டேண்டி", என்னோட ராசி நல்ல ராசி", "என் தாயின் மீது ஆணை" என வேகமான பாடல்களை ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடிய மலேசியா வாசுதேவன் அவர்கள் "வா வா வசந்தமே", "ஒத்துகிட்டு ஊத்துதடி", "ஆகாய கங்கை", "ஒரு தங்க ரதத்தில்" போன்ற மென்மையான பாடல்களையும் பாடியுள்ளார்.

மனோ

'வேலைக்காரன்' திரைப்படத்தில் "வேலை இல்லாதவன்தான்" பாடலை முதல் முதலாக ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடிய மனோ இளையராஜாவின் தயாரிப்பான 'ராஜாதிராஜா' திரைப்படத்தில் இளையராஜாவின் இசையில் "மீனம்மா மீனம்மா", "எங்கிட்ட மோதாதே", "மலையாளக் கரையோரம்" என முத்தான மூன்று பாடல்களை பாடியுள்ளார். அவைதவிர "பாண்டியனின் ராட்சியத்தில்", "உழைப்பாளி இல்லாத", "நூறு வருஷம்", "ஜிங்கிடி கின்கிடி உனக்கு", "மலைக்கோவில் வாசலில்", "உலகத்துக்காக பிறந்தவன்" போன்ற சூப்பர் ஹிட்டான பாடல்களையும் ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடியுள்ளார். படையப்பாவில் ரஹ்மானின் இசையில் "ஓஹோஹோகோ கிக்கு ஏறுதே" பாடல் பெரும் வரவேற்ப்பை பெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இவர்களைத்தவிர ஜெயச்சந்திரன், அருண்மொழி, ஹரிகரன், ஷங்கர் மகாதேவன், கார்த்திக் என அதிகமான பின்னணிப் பாடகர்கள் ரஜினிக்காக பின்னணி பாடியுள்ளனர். ரஜினியின் திரைப்படங்களில் பணியாற்றிய மேலே பெயர்குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள இசையமைப்பாளர்களுக்கும், பின்னணிப் பாடகர்களுக்கும்; பெயர் குறிப்பிடாத இசையமைப்பாளர்களுக்கும், பின்னணிப் பாடகர்களுக்கும் ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் சார்பில் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள்.

இசையமைப்பாளர்களுக்கும், பாடகர்களுக்கும் நன்றி சொல்லிவிட்டு திரையிசையில் முக்கிய இடத்தை வகிக்கும் பாடலாசிரியர்களுக்கு நன்றி சொல்லாமல் விடுவது முறையல்ல. எந்தெந்த பாடலை யார்யார் பாடினார்கள்? என்கிற சரியான தகவல்கள் தெரியாததனால் அவர்களைபற்றி விபரமாக குறிப்பிட்டு எழுதவில்லை. இருந்தாலும் ரஜினிக்காக அதிகமான திரைப்பட பாடல்களை எழுதிய வைரமுத்து அவர்களுக்கும் "அம்மா என்றழைக்காத உயிரில்லையே" என்று உருகிய வாலி அவர்களுக்கும், ஆரம்பகாலங்களில் ரஜினிக்கு பாட்டெழுதிய 'கவியரசர்' கண்ணதாசன் அவர்களுக்கும்; மற்றும் பெயர் குறிப்பிடாத அனைத்து பாடலாசிரியர்களுக்கும் ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் சார்பில் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள்.

On Baba, SK said Rajini sir's script was phenomenal except the climax and the politics bits. Won't call it phenomenal. Politics bit could have been avoided, but think, in real life, who else are natural bad guys? And I thought the climax was good. Atypical. Anti-climax.

சந்திரமுகியின் இரண்டாம் பாகம் நாகவள்ளி எனும் பெயரில் தெலுங்கில் வெளியாகியுள்ளது. இந்தப் படத்தி்ல ரஜினி வரும் ஒரு காட்சியில் திரையரங்குகள் அதிர்கின்றன, ரசிகர்களின் விண்ணைப் பிளக்கும் கரகோஷம் மற்றும் விசில் சத்தத்தில்.

கன்னடத்தில் வெளியாகி பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்ற ஆப்தமித்ரா, தமிழில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி நடிக்க சந்திரமுகியாக வெளியாகி, 804 நாட்கள் வரை ஓடி சரித்திரம் படைத்தது.

இந்தப் படத்தின் இரண்டாம் பாகம் சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு கன்னடத்தில் ஆப்தரக்ஷகா என்ற பெயரில் வெளியாகி பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்றது. அந்தப் படத்தை மீண்டும் ரஜினியை வைத்து சந்திரமுகி - இரண்டாம் பாகம் என உருவாக்க விரும்பினார் வாசு. ஆனால் முதலில் பார்க்கலாம் என்று கூறிய ரஜினி, பின்னர் அஜீத்தை நடிக்கச் சொல்லி சிபாரிசு செய்தார்.

ஆனால் அந்த திட்டம் வெற்றி பெறாத நிலையில், வெங்கடேஷை வைத்து தெலுங்கில் இயக்குமாறு பரிந்துரை செய்தார் ரஜினி. கூடவே, அந்தப் படத்தில் ஒரு காட்சியில் நடித்தும் கொடுத்தார் ரஜினி. ஆனால் இந்த விஷயம் முதலில் ரகசியமாக வைக்கப்பட்டது.

1981. தமிழ் சினிமாவின் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாராக ரஜினியின் கொடி உயரே உயரே பறந்துகொண்டிருந்த நேரம்… காதலில் விழுந்தார்!

பிப்ரவரி 25-ந்தேதி மாலை 4 மணிக்கு, நிருபர்களை திடீரென்று ரஜினி அழைத்தார்.

ரஜினி அழைப்பாயிற்றே… சில நிமிடங்களுக்கெல்லாம் அத்தனை நிருபர்களும் ரஜினி வீட்டில்.

அந்த பிரஸ் மீட் நிருபரிகளுக்கு மறக்க முடியாதது. ரஜினி இப்படிப் பேசினார்:

“லதாவை நான் காதலிக்கிறேன். கடவுள் அருளால் அவருக்கும் எனக்கும் திருமணம் நடைபெறுகிறது. இது எப்படி என்பது பற்றி, என் அன்பு ரசிகர்களுக்கு சொல்ல கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்.

வாழ்க்கையின் இன்ப – துன்பங்களை உணர்ந்தவன் மட்டுமல்ல; அனுபவித்து அறிந்தவன் நான். முதுகில் தழும்பேற மூட்டை சுமந்து, மில்லி அடித்து, வாழ்க்கையின் மேடு – பள்ளங்கள் அனைத்தையும் உணர்ந்து இந்த நிலைக்கு வந்திருக்கிறேன்.

என் வாழ்க்கையில் பெரும் திருப்பம் நிகழ்ந்தது, பிரபல நடிகை சௌகார் ஜானகியின் வீட்டில்தான்.

7 மாதங்களுக்கு முன் அங்கு, பாலசந்தர் சாரின் “தில்லு முல்லு” படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு நடந்தது. அதில் நான் நடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

பகல் ஒரு மணி இருக்கும். எத்திராஜ் கல்லூரி மாணவிகள் சிலர் வந்தனர். அவர்களில், என் முன்னால் வந்து, தன்னை அறிமுகம் செய்து கொண்டவர் லதா.

“மிஸ்டர் ரஜினி! நான் கல்லூரி மாணவி. எங்கள் கல்லூரியின் சிறப்பு இதழுக்கு, உங்களை பேட்டி காண வந்திருக்கிறேன். சம்மதமா?” என்று கேட்டார். நான் சம்மதித்தேன்.

பேட்டி தொடர்ந்தது. சுவையான, அறிவுபூர்வமான கேள்விகள் பலவற்றை லதா கேட்க கேட்க, நானும் என் பாணியில் பதில் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

லதா திடீரென்று “மிஸ்டர் ரஜினிகாந்த்! உங்கள் திருமணம் எப்போது?” என்று கேட்டார்.

“குடும்பப் பாங்கான பெண் எப்போது கிடைக்கிறாளோ, அப்போதுதான் திருமணம்” என்று பதிலளித்தேன், லதா மீது கண்களைப் பதித்தபடி.

“இப்படிச் சொன்னால் எப்படி! விளக்கமாகச் சொல்லுங்கள்!” என்றார், லதா.

“உதாரணத்துக்கு ஒன்று சொல்கிறேன். உங்களை மாதிரி ஒரு பெண் கிடைத்தால் நான் கல்யாணம் செய்து கொள்வேன்” என்றேன்.

நாணத்தால் லதாவின் முகம் சிவந்து விட்டது.

என் வாழ்க்கையில் ஒளிவு – மறைவு இல்லை. உண்மை பேசி வாழ விரும்புகிறேன். என் மனமார, எவருக்கும் துரோகம் செய்யமாட்டேன்.

அதனால்தான் மனம் திறந்து, “என்னைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள விருப்பமா?” என்று லதாவிடம் கேட்டேன். தொடர்ந்து, இதுபற்றி ஒய்.ஜி.மகேந்திரனிடம் பேசினேன்

லதாவிடமும், லதாவின் பெற்றோரிடமும் மகேந்திரன் பேசினார். அவர்களின் சம்மதம் கிடைத்தது.

அதன் பிறகு நானும் லதா வீட்டுக்கு சென்று அவர் பெற்றோர்களிடம் பேசினேன். ‘திருமணத்துக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை எல்லாம் நானே செய்கிறேன். அதுவரை வெளியே யாருக்கும் தெரிய வேண்டாம்’ என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டேன்.

நான் பெங்களூர் சென்று என் அண்ணனிடம் லதா பற்றி கூறினேன். முதலில் அவர் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தார்.

“என்னப்பா… அந்தப் பெண் நம்ம சாதி இல்லேன்னு சொல்றே. மராத்தியில் கிடைக்காத பெண்ணா உனக்கு மதராஸிலே கிடைக்கப்போகுது?” என்று கேட்டார்.

“நான் நல்லா இருக்கணும்னு நீங்க விரும்பினா, லதாவை மணந்து கொள்ள எனக்கு அனுமதி கொடுங்க”ன்னு சொல்லிவிட்டு வந்தேன்.

பிறகு என் அண்ணன், சென்னைக்கு வந்தார். லதாவைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு, சம்மதம் தெரிவித்தார்.

லதா மட்டும், “உங்களை மணந்து கொள்ளமாட்டேன்” என்று கூறியிருந்தால், என் மனம் தாங்கியிருக்காது. ஏனென்றால் ஒரு பொருளின் மீது ஆசை கொண்டால் அதை அடைந்தே தீரவேண்டும் என்ற வெறி கொண்டவன் நான். சம்யுக்தையை பிருதிவிராஜன் தூக்கிச்சென்றது போன்ற நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கும். அதற்கு அவசியம் இல்லாமல் போய்விட்டது.

திருமணத்துக்காக 7 மாதம் காத்திருந்தேன். அதற்குக் காரணம் உண்டு. எனது மனைவியின் குணநலன்கள் எப்படி? என் குணத்தையும், மனதையும் அறிந்து நடந்து கொள்வாளா? அவளது நடை, உடை, பாவனை எப்படி என்பதை எல்லாம் அறிந்து கொள்ள விரும்பினேன். அதற்குத்தான் 7 மாதம் பிடித்தது.

என் மனைவி லதாவுக்கு சங்கீத ஞானம் உண்டு. நன்றாகப் பாடுவாள். அவள் விரும்பினால் சினிமாவில் பின்னணி பாடலாம். நடிக்க விரும்பினால் கூட நடிக்கலாம். நான் தடை சொல்லமாட்டேன்.

என்னோடு ஜோடியாக நடிக்க விரும்பினால்கூட, நான் நடிக்கத் தயார்!

பெண்கள் என்பவர்கள், வீட்டில் கணவன் காலடியில் நெளியும் புழுவோ, பூச்சியோ அல்ல. பெண்களுக்கு சுதந்திரம் தேவை. அந்த சுதந்திரம் லதாவுக்கு முழுமையாக உண்டு…”, என்றார் ரஜினி.

திருமணத்துக்கு யாரையும் அழைக்கமாட்டேன்…

திருமணத்துக்கு யாரையெல்லாம் அழைத்தீர்கள்? என்று கேட்டபோது, “யாரையும் அழைக்கவில்லை” என்றார்.

தொடர்ந்து, “எனது திருமணத்துக்கு அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சிடப்படவில்லை. என்னோடு நெருங்கிப் பழகிய, என் முன்னேற்றத்துக்கு காரணமாக இருந்தவர்களைக் கூட, “வாருங்கள்! என் திருமண கோலத்தைக் கண்ணாரக் கண்டு ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள்” என்று அழைக்கவில்லை.

இதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன? அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சடித்து, குடும்பத்தினர், உறவினர்கள், நண்பர்கள் ஆகியோருக்கு வீடு வீடாகச் சென்று கொடுப்பது, தபால், தந்தி, ரேடியோ வசதிகள் இல்லாத அந்தக் காலத்துக்கு வேண்டுமானால் பொருத்தமாக இருந்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால், இந்தக் காலத்தில் அது எதற்கு? என்னைப் போன்ற ஒரு நடிகனுக்குத் திருமணம் என்றால், அடுத்த நிமிடமே மக்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தும் விதமாக நவீன வசதிகள் இருக்கின்றன. அதனால் அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சடிக்கவில்லை.

என் திருமணத்துக்கு உடன் பிறந்தவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு எவரையும் அழைக்கவில்லை. வயது முதிர்ந்த என் தந்தையிடம் கூட, மானசீகமாகத்தான் வாழ்த்து பெற்று இருக்கிறேன்.

நான் பெங்களூரில் கண்டக்டராகப் பணியாற்றினேனே… அப்போது என்னுடன் பழகி, என்னுடன் உண்டு உறங்கிய சில பஸ் கண்டக்டர்கள், டிரைவர் நண்பர்களை மட்டுமே திருப்பதிக்கு அழைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

தெய்வத்தின் சந்நிதானத்தில் என் திருமணம் நடைபெறுகிறது. வெறும் மஞ்சள் கயிற்றில் கோர்த்த தாலியைத்தான் நான் லதா கழுத்தில் கட்டப்போகிறேன்.

தாலி கட்டுவது என்பது வெறும் சடங்கு. ஆனால், தெய்வத்தை சாட்சியாக வைத்துக் கொண்டு, மனச்சாட்சிக்கு பயந்து, ஒருத்தி கழுத்தில் கயிற்றைக் கட்டுவதே உண்மையான திருமணம். திருமணத்தையொட்டி, சென்னையில் உள்ள சில அனாதை விடுதிகளில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு சீருடையுடன் உணவும் வழங்க ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறேன்,” என்றார்.

“தேன் நிலவுக்கு எங்கே போகப் போகிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டதற்கு,

“தேன் நிலவாவது, சர்க்கரை நிலவாவது? விஸ்கி அடித்தால், தினமும் தேன் நிலவுதான்! கள்ளம், கபடம் இல்லாமல், ஒருவர் மனதை ஒருவர் புரிந்து கொண்டு வாழும் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் தேன் நிலவு நாட்களே!

எனினும் இனி நான் டிரிங்க் செய்வதை குறைத்துக் கொண்டு விடுவேன். உடல் நலமே முக்கியம். சுவர் இருந்தால்தானே சித்திரம் தீட்ட முடியும்! இதை கவனிக்கும் பொறுப்பு, இனி என்னை விட என் லதாவுக்கு அதிகம் உண்டு…,” என்றார் தனக்கே உரிய பாணியில்.

வந்தால் உதைப்பேன்…

இவ்வளவும் சொன்னவர், எந்த நிருபரும் திருமணத்துக்கு வரக் கூடாது என்று ஒரு குண்டைப் போட்டார்.

இதனால் பரபரப்படைந்த நிருபர்கள், வரவேண்டாம் என்று சொல்வதற்காகவா எங்களை அழைத்தீர்கள் என்றனர் சற்று உரிமையுடன்.

அப்போது, லதாவுடன் கழுத்தில் மாலையுடன் இருக்கும் புகைப்படத்தை நிருபர்களிடம் ரஜினி கொடுத்தார்.

“திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு இந்தப் படத்தை போட்டுக் கொள்ளுங்கள். வரவேற்பு நிகழ்ச்சியை பின்னர் சென்னையில் நடத்தப் போகிறேன். தேதி முடிவாகவில்லை. முடிவானபிறகு, என்னை ஆளாக்கிய கலை உலக, பத்திரிகை உலக நண்பர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நேரில் அழைப்பேன். திருப்பதி கோவிலில் மாலை மாற்றி தாலி கட்ட விசேஷ அனுமதி பெற்று இருக்கிறேன். அங்கே பத்திரிகையாளர்களும், ரசிகர்களும் வந்து கூட்டம் கூடினால் பிரச்சினை ஏற்படும். எனவே, திருமணத்துக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம்” என்றார், ரஜினி.

“வந்தா…?” என்று ஒரு நிருபர் கேட்க, ரஜினி ‘டென்ஷன்’ ஆகி, “உதைப்பேன்” என்றார்.

திடுக்கிட்டனர் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள்.

உடனே ஒரு நிருபர், “ரஜினி! இந்த மாதிரி வார்த்தைகளை எல்லாம் பயன்படுத்தாதீர்கள். இதை அப்படியே பிரசுரித்தால் நன்றாகவா இருக்கும்?”

என்று, கூறினார்.

அமைதி அடைந்த ரஜினி, “நீங்கள் நேருக்கு நேராக இப்படி கூறியதைப் பாராட்டுகிறேன். அப்படிச் சொன்னதற்கு வருந்துகிறேன்… ஸாரி! ஆனாலும், திருப்பதிக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம். கேமிராவோட யாரையாவது பார்த்துட்டா உதைக்கிறதைத் தவிர வேறு வழி தோணாது!” என்றார், ரஜினி!

26-2-1981 அன்று அதிகாலை 3.30 மணிக்கு திருமலையில் சுப்ரபாதம் முழங்க லதாவுக்கு தாலி கட்டினார் ரஜினி.

திருமணம் முடிந்து, சாமி சந்நிதியை விட்டு ரஜினியும், லதாவும் வெளிவந்தபோது, சில பத்திரிகையாளர்களும், போட்டோகிராபர்களும் எப்படியோ அங்கு வந்து போட்டோ எடுக்க முயன்றனர். ‘நான் அவ்வளவு சொல்லியும் கேட்காமல் இங்கே வந்துட்டாங்களே’ என்று ‘டென்ஷன்’ ஆனார், ரஜினி.

உறவினர்கள் அவரைச் சமாதானப்படுத்தி, வேறு வழியாக அழைத்துச் சென்றுவிட்டனர்.

திருமணம் முடிந்ததும் படப்பிடிப்பு…

திருப்பதியிலிருந்து அருகில் உள்ள திருச்சானூர் சென்று, பத்மாவதியை தரிசனம் செய்துவிட்டு, ரஜினிகாந்தும் மற்றவர்களும் உடனடியாக சென்னைக்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.

அன்று காலை 10 மணிக்கு, ஏவி.எம்.ஸ்டூடியோவில் கே.பாலசந்தரின் “நெற்றிக்கண்” படப்பிடிப்பு நடந்தது. அதில் ரஜினிகாந்த் கலந்து கொண்டார்.

7 மாதங்களுக்கு முன், பாலசந்தரின் “தில்லுமுல்லு” படப்பிடிப்பின்போது அரும்பிய ரஜினி – லதா காதல், அதே பாலசந்தரின் “நெற்றிக்கண்” படப்பிடிப்பின்போது திருமணத்தில் முடிந்தது.

இதற்கிடையே, மனைவி லதாவுடன் ரஜினி பெங்களூருக்கு சென்று, தன் தந்தையிடம் ஆசி பெற்றார்.

வரவேற்புக்கு எல்லோரையும் அழைத்த ரஜினி…

“திருமணத்துக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம். ஆனால், திருமண வரவேற்புக்கு எல்லோரும் வாருங்கள். நானே உங்களுக்கு அழைப்பு கொடுப்பேன்” என்று ஏற்கனவே ரஜினி அறிவித்திருந்தார்.

அதைப்போலவே, திருமணத்துக்கு 2 வாரம் கழித்து (மார்ச் 14-ந்தேதி) சென்னை நுங்கம்பாக்கத்தில் உள்ள தாஜ் கோரமண்டல் ஓட்டலில் வரவேற்பு நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்பாக நடத்தினார். அனைத்துப் பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும் தானே அழைப்பிதழ் கொடுத்து நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வரச் சொன்னார். “சாமி சந்நதானத்தில் நடக்கும் திருமணத்தை விளம்பரப்படுத்த விரும்பவில்லை. ஆனால் நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் சந்தோஷமாக கூடும் நிகழ்ச்சி வரவேற்பு. அனைவரும் வர வேண்டும்” என்றார்.

பிரமுகர்களும், திரை உலகத்தினரும் பெருந்திரளாக வந்து மணமக்களை வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.

நல்ல மருமகள்…

திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு, ஒரு முறை ரஜினியின் தந்தையிடம், “உங்கள் மருமகள் லதாவைப்பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார் ஒரு நிருபர்.

அதற்கு அவர், “ரொம்ப நல்லப் பொண்ணு. என்னை அன்பாக கவனித்துக் கொண்டாள்” என்று அவர் பதிலளித்தார்.

திருமணத்தின்போது லதா, சென்னை எத்திராஜ் கல்லூரியில் “பி.ஏ” இறுதியாண்டு படித்துக்கொண்டு இருந்தார். திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகும் 2 மாதம் தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரிக்குச் சென்று படித்து, பரீட்சை எழுதி, “பி.ஏ” பட்டம் பெற்றார்.

திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு…

திருமணத்துக்குப்பின், ரஜினிகாந்த் வாழ்க்கையில் ஏராளமான மாற்றங்கள். இதை அவரை பலமுறை குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

முன்பெல்லாம், இரவு நெடுநேரம் கழித்து வீடு திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருந்த ரஜினி, திருமணத்துக்குப்பின் மாலை 6 மணிக்கு படப்பிடிப்பை முடித்துக்கொண்டு வீடு திரும்பத் தொடங்கிவிட்டார்.

இதுபற்றி கேட்டவர்களிடம், “முன்பு நான் தனி ஆள். இப்போது எனக்காக ஒருத்தி வீட்டில் தனியாகக் காத்திருக்கிறாளே! அவளுக்காக காலாகாலத்தில் வீட்டுக்குப் போகவேண்டாமா!” என்று பதிலளித்தார்.

இனிய சுபாவமும், கருணை உள்ளமும் கொண்டவர், லதா. அவருக்கு ரஜினி வைத்திருக்கும் செல்லப் பெயர் ஜில்லு. அன்புள்ள ரஜினிகாந்த் படத்தில் ஒரு காட்சி ரஜினி வீட்டில் படமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். அந்த்க காட்சியில் லதா வருவார். அப்போதும் அவரை இதே பெயர் சொல்லித்தான் ரஜினி அழைப்பார்.

லதாவின் முயற்சியால் சிகரெட், மது ஆகியவற்றை படிப்படியாக குறைத்துக் கொண்டார் ரஜினி. பேச்சில் பொறுமையும், செயல்களில் நிதானமும் ஏற்பட்டன.

“திருமணத்துக்குப்பின் உங்கள் நடவடிக்கைகள் முற்றிலும் மாறிவிட்டனவே” என்று ஒரு பேட்டியின்போது நிருபர் கேட்டதற்கு, “ஒருவர் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்வதே, மாற்றம் வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்தானே! அந்த மாற்றங்களைத்தான் இப்போது பார்க்கிறீர்கள்! நேரம் வரும்போது, எல்லாம் தானாகவே நடக்கும்” என்றார் ரஜினி.

லண்டனில் உள்ள புகழ்பெற்ற மேடம் டுஸாட்ஸ் (Madame Tussauds) மெழுகுச் சிலை அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் விரைவில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினியின் மெழுகுச் சிலையை நிறுவ முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளதாக செய்திகள் வெளியாகி வருகின்றன.

இந்தியாவிலிருந்து ஏற்கெனவே அமிதாப் பச்சன், ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய் ஆகியோருக்கு லண்டன் மியூசியத்தில் மெழுகுச் சிலை வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே, இந்த மியூசியத்தில் ரஜினியின் மெழுகுச் சிலை இடம்பெற வேண்டும் என்று கோரிக்கை விடப்பட்டது.

குறிப்பாக ரஜினியின் சிவாஜி படம் உலகளவில் பிரபலமடைந்து சக்கைப் போடு போட்டபோது, ‘பெட்டிஷன் ஆன்லைன்’ போன்ற பிரபல இணையதளங்கள் மூலம் ரசிகர்களும் பிரபலங்களும் இந்தக் கோரிக்கையை வைத்தனர்.

முதல்முறையாக இந்தக் கோரிக்கை 2008-ல் வைக்கப்பட்டது. உடனே பல ஆயிரம் ரசிகர்கள் இந்த மனுவை ஆதரித்து மேடம் டுஸாட்ஸுக்கு மின்னஞ்சல்களை அனுப்பினர்.

இப்போது மேலும் சில முன்னணி செய்தி இணையதளங்கள் ரஜினிக்கு மெழுகுச் சிலை வைக்கக் கோரி கட்டுரைகள் வெளியிட்டும், வாசகர் கருத்துக்கணிப்பை நடத்தியும் வருகின்றன.

இணையதளங்கள், மின்னஞ்சல்கள் மூலம் குவியும் கோரிக்கைகளை அடுத்து, இதனைப் பரிசீலித்து ரஜினிக்கு மெழுகுச்சிலை அமைக்க மேடம் டுஸ்ஸாட்ஸ் நிர்வாகம் முடிவெடுத்துள்ளதாகத் தெரிகிறது.

இதுகுறித்து இயக்குநர் கேஎஸ் ரவிக்குமார் கூறுகையில், “ரஜினி சாருக்கு மெழுகுச் சிலை வைப்பதன் மூலம் அந்த மியூசியத்துக்குதான் பெருமை. ரஜினி சார் சிலை அங்கே வைக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு பாருங்கள்… வழக்கமாக வரும் கூட்டத்தை விட இருமடங்கு கூட்டம் வரும். அப்புறம்தான் அவர்களுக்கே தெரியும்… நாம் ரொம்ப லேட் பண்ணிட்டோமே.. உலகளாவிய ஒரு சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் என்றால் ரஜினிதான்” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் எஸ்பி முத்துராமன் கூறுகையில், “ரஜினி சாருக்கு மெழுகுச் சிலை வைப்பதற்கு இது பொருத்தமான நேரம்தான். அவரைப் போன்ற சிறந்த மனிதர் – கலைஞர் எவருமில்லை…” என்றார்.

1981. தமிழ் சினிமாவின் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாராக ரஜினியின் கொடி உயரே உயரே பறந்துகொண்டிருந்த நேரம்… காதலில் விழுந்தார்!

பிப்ரவரி 25-ந்தேதி மாலை 4 மணிக்கு, நிருபர்களை திடீரென்று ரஜினி அழைத்தார்.

ரஜினி அழைப்பாயிற்றே… சில நிமிடங்களுக்கெல்லாம் அத்தனை நிருபர்களும் ரஜினி வீட்டில்.

அந்த பிரஸ் மீட் நிருபரிகளுக்கு மறக்க முடியாதது. ரஜினி இப்படிப் பேசினார்:

“லதாவை நான் காதலிக்கிறேன். கடவுள் அருளால் அவருக்கும் எனக்கும் திருமணம் நடைபெறுகிறது. இது எப்படி என்பது பற்றி, என் அன்பு ரசிகர்களுக்கு சொல்ல கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்.

வாழ்க்கையின் இன்ப – துன்பங்களை உணர்ந்தவன் மட்டுமல்ல; அனுபவித்து அறிந்தவன் நான். முதுகில் தழும்பேற மூட்டை சுமந்து, மில்லி அடித்து, வாழ்க்கையின் மேடு – பள்ளங்கள் அனைத்தையும் உணர்ந்து இந்த நிலைக்கு வந்திருக்கிறேன்.

என் வாழ்க்கையில் பெரும் திருப்பம் நிகழ்ந்தது, பிரபல நடிகை சௌகார் ஜானகியின் வீட்டில்தான்.

7 மாதங்களுக்கு முன் அங்கு, பாலசந்தர் சாரின் “தில்லு முல்லு” படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு நடந்தது. அதில் நான் நடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

பகல் ஒரு மணி இருக்கும். எத்திராஜ் கல்லூரி மாணவிகள் சிலர் வந்தனர். அவர்களில், என் முன்னால் வந்து, தன்னை அறிமுகம் செய்து கொண்டவர் லதா.

“மிஸ்டர் ரஜினி! நான் கல்லூரி மாணவி. எங்கள் கல்லூரியின் சிறப்பு இதழுக்கு, உங்களை பேட்டி காண வந்திருக்கிறேன். சம்மதமா?” என்று கேட்டார். நான் சம்மதித்தேன்.

பேட்டி தொடர்ந்தது. சுவையான, அறிவுபூர்வமான கேள்விகள் பலவற்றை லதா கேட்க கேட்க, நானும் என் பாணியில் பதில் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

லதா திடீரென்று “மிஸ்டர் ரஜினிகாந்த்! உங்கள் திருமணம் எப்போது?” என்று கேட்டார்.

“குடும்பப் பாங்கான பெண் எப்போது கிடைக்கிறாளோ, அப்போதுதான் திருமணம்” என்று பதிலளித்தேன், லதா மீது கண்களைப் பதித்தபடி.

“இப்படிச் சொன்னால் எப்படி! விளக்கமாகச் சொல்லுங்கள்!” என்றார், லதா.

“உதாரணத்துக்கு ஒன்று சொல்கிறேன். உங்களை மாதிரி ஒரு பெண் கிடைத்தால் நான் கல்யாணம் செய்து கொள்வேன்” என்றேன்.

நாணத்தால் லதாவின் முகம் சிவந்து விட்டது.

என் வாழ்க்கையில் ஒளிவு – மறைவு இல்லை. உண்மை பேசி வாழ விரும்புகிறேன். என் மனமார, எவருக்கும் துரோகம் செய்யமாட்டேன்.

அதனால்தான் மனம் திறந்து, “என்னைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள விருப்பமா?” என்று லதாவிடம் கேட்டேன். தொடர்ந்து, இதுபற்றி ஒய்.ஜி.மகேந்திரனிடம் பேசினேன்

லதாவிடமும், லதாவின் பெற்றோரிடமும் மகேந்திரன் பேசினார். அவர்களின் சம்மதம் கிடைத்தது.

அதன் பிறகு நானும் லதா வீட்டுக்கு சென்று அவர் பெற்றோர்களிடம் பேசினேன். ‘திருமணத்துக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை எல்லாம் நானே செய்கிறேன். அதுவரை வெளியே யாருக்கும் தெரிய வேண்டாம்’ என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டேன்.

நான் பெங்களூர் சென்று என் அண்ணனிடம் லதா பற்றி கூறினேன். முதலில் அவர் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தார்.

“என்னப்பா… அந்தப் பெண் நம்ம சாதி இல்லேன்னு சொல்றே. மராத்தியில் கிடைக்காத பெண்ணா உனக்கு மதராஸிலே கிடைக்கப்போகுது?” என்று கேட்டார்.

“நான் நல்லா இருக்கணும்னு நீங்க விரும்பினா, லதாவை மணந்து கொள்ள எனக்கு அனுமதி கொடுங்க”ன்னு சொல்லிவிட்டு வந்தேன்.

பிறகு என் அண்ணன், சென்னைக்கு வந்தார். லதாவைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு, சம்மதம் தெரிவித்தார்.

லதா மட்டும், “உங்களை மணந்து கொள்ளமாட்டேன்” என்று கூறியிருந்தால், என் மனம் தாங்கியிருக்காது. ஏனென்றால் ஒரு பொருளின் மீது ஆசை கொண்டால் அதை அடைந்தே தீரவேண்டும் என்ற வெறி கொண்டவன் நான். சம்யுக்தையை பிருதிவிராஜன் தூக்கிச்சென்றது போன்ற நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கும். அதற்கு அவசியம் இல்லாமல் போய்விட்டது.

திருமணத்துக்காக 7 மாதம் காத்திருந்தேன். அதற்குக் காரணம் உண்டு. எனது மனைவியின் குணநலன்கள் எப்படி? என் குணத்தையும், மனதையும் அறிந்து நடந்து கொள்வாளா? அவளது நடை, உடை, பாவனை எப்படி என்பதை எல்லாம் அறிந்து கொள்ள விரும்பினேன். அதற்குத்தான் 7 மாதம் பிடித்தது.

என் மனைவி லதாவுக்கு சங்கீத ஞானம் உண்டு. நன்றாகப் பாடுவாள். அவள் விரும்பினால் சினிமாவில் பின்னணி பாடலாம். நடிக்க விரும்பினால் கூட நடிக்கலாம். நான் தடை சொல்லமாட்டேன்.

என்னோடு ஜோடியாக நடிக்க விரும்பினால்கூட, நான் நடிக்கத் தயார்!

பெண்கள் என்பவர்கள், வீட்டில் கணவன் காலடியில் நெளியும் புழுவோ, பூச்சியோ அல்ல. பெண்களுக்கு சுதந்திரம் தேவை. அந்த சுதந்திரம் லதாவுக்கு முழுமையாக உண்டு…”, என்றார் ரஜினி.

திருமணத்துக்கு யாரையும் அழைக்கமாட்டேன்…

திருமணத்துக்கு யாரையெல்லாம் அழைத்தீர்கள்? என்று கேட்டபோது, “யாரையும் அழைக்கவில்லை” என்றார்.

தொடர்ந்து, “எனது திருமணத்துக்கு அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சிடப்படவில்லை. என்னோடு நெருங்கிப் பழகிய, என் முன்னேற்றத்துக்கு காரணமாக இருந்தவர்களைக் கூட, “வாருங்கள்! என் திருமண கோலத்தைக் கண்ணாரக் கண்டு ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள்” என்று அழைக்கவில்லை.

இதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன? அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சடித்து, குடும்பத்தினர், உறவினர்கள், நண்பர்கள் ஆகியோருக்கு வீடு வீடாகச் சென்று கொடுப்பது, தபால், தந்தி, ரேடியோ வசதிகள் இல்லாத அந்தக் காலத்துக்கு வேண்டுமானால் பொருத்தமாக இருந்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால், இந்தக் காலத்தில் அது எதற்கு? என்னைப் போன்ற ஒரு நடிகனுக்குத் திருமணம் என்றால், அடுத்த நிமிடமே மக்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தும் விதமாக நவீன வசதிகள் இருக்கின்றன. அதனால் அழைப்பிதழ் அச்சடிக்கவில்லை.

என் திருமணத்துக்கு உடன் பிறந்தவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு எவரையும் அழைக்கவில்லை. வயது முதிர்ந்த என் தந்தையிடம் கூட, மானசீகமாகத்தான் வாழ்த்து பெற்று இருக்கிறேன்.

நான் பெங்களூரில் கண்டக்டராகப் பணியாற்றினேனே… அப்போது என்னுடன் பழகி, என்னுடன் உண்டு உறங்கிய சில பஸ் கண்டக்டர்கள், டிரைவர் நண்பர்களை மட்டுமே திருப்பதிக்கு அழைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

தெய்வத்தின் சந்நிதானத்தில் என் திருமணம் நடைபெறுகிறது. வெறும் மஞ்சள் கயிற்றில் கோர்த்த தாலியைத்தான் நான் லதா கழுத்தில் கட்டப்போகிறேன்.

தாலி கட்டுவது என்பது வெறும் சடங்கு. ஆனால், தெய்வத்தை சாட்சியாக வைத்துக் கொண்டு, மனச்சாட்சிக்கு பயந்து, ஒருத்தி கழுத்தில் கயிற்றைக் கட்டுவதே உண்மையான திருமணம். திருமணத்தையொட்டி, சென்னையில் உள்ள சில அனாதை விடுதிகளில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு சீருடையுடன் உணவும் வழங்க ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறேன்,” என்றார்.

“தேன் நிலவுக்கு எங்கே போகப் போகிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டதற்கு,

“தேன் நிலவாவது, சர்க்கரை நிலவாவது? விஸ்கி அடித்தால், தினமும் தேன் நிலவுதான்! கள்ளம், கபடம் இல்லாமல், ஒருவர் மனதை ஒருவர் புரிந்து கொண்டு வாழும் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் தேன் நிலவு நாட்களே!

எனினும் இனி நான் டிரிங்க் செய்வதை குறைத்துக் கொண்டு விடுவேன். உடல் நலமே முக்கியம். சுவர் இருந்தால்தானே சித்திரம் தீட்ட முடியும்! இதை கவனிக்கும் பொறுப்பு, இனி என்னை விட என் லதாவுக்கு அதிகம் உண்டு…,” என்றார் தனக்கே உரிய பாணியில்.

வந்தால் உதைப்பேன்…

இவ்வளவும் சொன்னவர், எந்த நிருபரும் திருமணத்துக்கு வரக் கூடாது என்று ஒரு குண்டைப் போட்டார்.

இதனால் பரபரப்படைந்த நிருபர்கள், வரவேண்டாம் என்று சொல்வதற்காகவா எங்களை அழைத்தீர்கள் என்றனர் சற்று உரிமையுடன்.

அப்போது, லதாவுடன் கழுத்தில் மாலையுடன் இருக்கும் புகைப்படத்தை நிருபர்களிடம் ரஜினி கொடுத்தார்.

“திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு இந்தப் படத்தை போட்டுக் கொள்ளுங்கள். வரவேற்பு நிகழ்ச்சியை பின்னர் சென்னையில் நடத்தப் போகிறேன். தேதி முடிவாகவில்லை. முடிவானபிறகு, என்னை ஆளாக்கிய கலை உலக, பத்திரிகை உலக நண்பர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நேரில் அழைப்பேன். திருப்பதி கோவிலில் மாலை மாற்றி தாலி கட்ட விசேஷ அனுமதி பெற்று இருக்கிறேன். அங்கே பத்திரிகையாளர்களும், ரசிகர்களும் வந்து கூட்டம் கூடினால் பிரச்சினை ஏற்படும். எனவே, திருமணத்துக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம்” என்றார், ரஜினி.

“வந்தா…?” என்று ஒரு நிருபர் கேட்க, ரஜினி ‘டென்ஷன்’ ஆகி, “உதைப்பேன்” என்றார்.

திடுக்கிட்டனர் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள்.

உடனே ஒரு நிருபர், “ரஜினி! இந்த மாதிரி வார்த்தைகளை எல்லாம் பயன்படுத்தாதீர்கள். இதை அப்படியே பிரசுரித்தால் நன்றாகவா இருக்கும்?”

என்று, கூறினார்.

அமைதி அடைந்த ரஜினி, “நீங்கள் நேருக்கு நேராக இப்படி கூறியதைப் பாராட்டுகிறேன். அப்படிச் சொன்னதற்கு வருந்துகிறேன்… ஸாரி! ஆனாலும், திருப்பதிக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம். கேமிராவோட யாரையாவது பார்த்துட்டா உதைக்கிறதைத் தவிர வேறு வழி தோணாது!” என்றார், ரஜினி!

26-2-1981 அன்று அதிகாலை 3.30 மணிக்கு திருமலையில் சுப்ரபாதம் முழங்க லதாவுக்கு தாலி கட்டினார் ரஜினி.

திருமணம் முடிந்து, சாமி சந்நிதியை விட்டு ரஜினியும், லதாவும் வெளிவந்தபோது, சில பத்திரிகையாளர்களும், போட்டோகிராபர்களும் எப்படியோ அங்கு வந்து போட்டோ எடுக்க முயன்றனர். ‘நான் அவ்வளவு சொல்லியும் கேட்காமல் இங்கே வந்துட்டாங்களே’ என்று ‘டென்ஷன்’ ஆனார், ரஜினி.

உறவினர்கள் அவரைச் சமாதானப்படுத்தி, வேறு வழியாக அழைத்துச் சென்றுவிட்டனர்.

திருமணம் முடிந்ததும் படப்பிடிப்பு…

திருப்பதியிலிருந்து அருகில் உள்ள திருச்சானூர் சென்று, பத்மாவதியை தரிசனம் செய்துவிட்டு, ரஜினிகாந்தும் மற்றவர்களும் உடனடியாக சென்னைக்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.

அன்று காலை 10 மணிக்கு, ஏவி.எம்.ஸ்டூடியோவில் கே.பாலசந்தரின் “நெற்றிக்கண்” படப்பிடிப்பு நடந்தது. அதில் ரஜினிகாந்த் கலந்து கொண்டார்.

7 மாதங்களுக்கு முன், பாலசந்தரின் “தில்லுமுல்லு” படப்பிடிப்பின்போது அரும்பிய ரஜினி – லதா காதல், அதே பாலசந்தரின் “நெற்றிக்கண்” படப்பிடிப்பின்போது திருமணத்தில் முடிந்தது.

இதற்கிடையே, மனைவி லதாவுடன் ரஜினி பெங்களூருக்கு சென்று, தன் தந்தையிடம் ஆசி பெற்றார்.

வரவேற்புக்கு எல்லோரையும் அழைத்த ரஜினி…

“திருமணத்துக்கு யாரும் வரவேண்டாம். ஆனால், திருமண வரவேற்புக்கு எல்லோரும் வாருங்கள். நானே உங்களுக்கு அழைப்பு கொடுப்பேன்” என்று ஏற்கனவே ரஜினி அறிவித்திருந்தார்.

அதைப்போலவே, திருமணத்துக்கு 2 வாரம் கழித்து (மார்ச் 14-ந்தேதி) சென்னை நுங்கம்பாக்கத்தில் உள்ள தாஜ் கோரமண்டல் ஓட்டலில் வரவேற்பு நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்பாக நடத்தினார். அனைத்துப் பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும் தானே அழைப்பிதழ் கொடுத்து நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வரச் சொன்னார். “சாமி சந்நதானத்தில் நடக்கும் திருமணத்தை விளம்பரப்படுத்த விரும்பவில்லை. ஆனால் நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் சந்தோஷமாக கூடும் நிகழ்ச்சி வரவேற்பு. அனைவரும் வர வேண்டும்” என்றார்.

பிரமுகர்களும், திரை உலகத்தினரும் பெருந்திரளாக வந்து மணமக்களை வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.

நல்ல மருமகள்…

திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு, ஒரு முறை ரஜினியின் தந்தையிடம், “உங்கள் மருமகள் லதாவைப்பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார் ஒரு நிருபர்.

அதற்கு அவர், “ரொம்ப நல்லப் பொண்ணு. என்னை அன்பாக கவனித்துக் கொண்டாள்” என்று அவர் பதிலளித்தார்.

திருமணத்தின்போது லதா, சென்னை எத்திராஜ் கல்லூரியில் “பி.ஏ” இறுதியாண்டு படித்துக்கொண்டு இருந்தார். திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகும் 2 மாதம் தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரிக்குச் சென்று படித்து, பரீட்சை எழுதி, “பி.ஏ” பட்டம் பெற்றார்.

திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு…

திருமணத்துக்குப்பின், ரஜினிகாந்த் வாழ்க்கையில் ஏராளமான மாற்றங்கள். இதை அவரை பலமுறை குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

முன்பெல்லாம், இரவு நெடுநேரம் கழித்து வீடு திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருந்த ரஜினி, திருமணத்துக்குப்பின் மாலை 6 மணிக்கு படப்பிடிப்பை முடித்துக்கொண்டு வீடு திரும்பத் தொடங்கிவிட்டார்.

இதுபற்றி கேட்டவர்களிடம், “முன்பு நான் தனி ஆள். இப்போது எனக்காக ஒருத்தி வீட்டில் தனியாகக் காத்திருக்கிறாளே! அவளுக்காக காலாகாலத்தில் வீட்டுக்குப் போகவேண்டாமா!” என்று பதிலளித்தார்.

இனிய சுபாவமும், கருணை உள்ளமும் கொண்டவர், லதா. அவருக்கு ரஜினி வைத்திருக்கும் செல்லப் பெயர் ஜில்லு. அன்புள்ள ரஜினிகாந்த் படத்தில் ஒரு காட்சி ரஜினி வீட்டில் படமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். அந்த்க காட்சியில் லதா வருவார். அப்போதும் அவரை இதே பெயர் சொல்லித்தான் ரஜினி அழைப்பார்.

லதாவின் முயற்சியால் சிகரெட், மது ஆகியவற்றை படிப்படியாக குறைத்துக் கொண்டார் ரஜினி. பேச்சில் பொறுமையும், செயல்களில் நிதானமும் ஏற்பட்டன.

“திருமணத்துக்குப்பின் உங்கள் நடவடிக்கைகள் முற்றிலும் மாறிவிட்டனவே” என்று ஒரு பேட்டியின்போது நிருபர் கேட்டதற்கு, “ஒருவர் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்வதே, மாற்றம் வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்தானே! அந்த மாற்றங்களைத்தான் இப்போது பார்க்கிறீர்கள்! நேரம் வரும்போது, எல்லாம் தானாகவே நடக்கும்” என்றார் ரஜினி.

It was embarassing to see Raja playing to the gallery of vijay fans by mentioning vijay with Rajini as though Vijay is the new version of Rajini. For a dont care master like Raja, it was a shocking speech+1. Why was Rajini kept mentioned in an event meant for directors? Somewhat I felt even Rajini was not comfortable with that.

Yesterday Rajnikant was shot at. The funeral of the bullet will take place this evening! Did you know that Rajnikant once kicked a football? Today it’s known as Pluto! Rajnikant once ordered a plate of idli at McDonald’s… and got it! Rajni and his jokes may be flying high but gauging the man himself from my personal experience and now from your interview, he still seems pretty grounded to reality.
It is so typical of him to pose candidly for the camera in his normal avatar, totally unaffected by the adulation and hype around him.
I have had the good fortune of working with him as a producer when I made Uttar Dakshin way back in the late 80s. He seemed a tad out-of-place in his Bollywood surroundings, preferring to sit it out in the evenings with his wife in an unobtrusive corner of the hotel’s coffee shop. He was already a big star down South, but he never let anyone feel uncomfortable about his godly status.
I have so many pleasant memories of this superstar. On one occasion, I had to give him an instalment of `1,00,000 and another actor `25,000. But my production guy goofed up – he gave Rajni the latter amount and saw him off at the airport. I was aghast and took the next flight to Chennai and handed over the remaining amount to his wife. Both husband and wife were touched by my gesture and said that there was no need for me to have taken the trouble, the amount could have been settled later. But the point is, when Rajni Sir saw he had received a smaller amount, he didn’t question my production man or call me. He was too much of a gentleman to pick up the phone and ask me why I had paid him less.
And how can I forget his hotel bills? For most producers, actors’ hotel bills are a nightmare but right through Rajnikant’s stay in Mumbai, I only had to shell out for his hotel rent and one coffee, one idli per day. He paid for everything else from his pocket.
I guess the saying, good things happen to good people, really holds true here. I wish him all the best and hope the next time he kicks a football, the ball begins to rotate as a planet around Star Rajni!

தன்னை அடிக்க வரும் கரங்களுக்கும் பூமாலை சூட்டும் மனிதன் ரஜினி…’ இது சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினியைப் பற்றி இயக்குநர் பாரதிராஜா முன்பொருமுறை சொன்னது.

இதை ஒரு முறை இரு முறை அல்ல… பல முறை நிரூபித்துவிட்டார் ரஜினி.

சமீபத்தில் ரஜினியை விமர்சிப்போர் பட்டியலில் இணைந்தவர் இயக்குநர் மிஷ்கின். ஒரு மேடையில், மூன்றாம் தர எழுத்தாளர் ஒருவர் முன்னிலையில் ரஜினியின் எந்திரன் பற்றி அவதூறாகப் பேசியவர்தான் இந்த மிஷ்கின்.

ஆனால் அதையெல்லாம் மனதில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும் ரகமா ரஜினி… ‘திரையுலகின் முதல்வர்’ என்ற முறையில் விமர்சகர்கள், எதிர்ப்பாளர்கள், வசவாளர்கள் எல்லோரையுமே அரவணைத்துச் செல்வது அவர் வழக்கம். அந்த வகையில் படைப்பாளிகள் அனைவரின் அழைப்புக்குமே மரியாதை தருகிறார்… போய்ப் பார்த்து நல்ல விஷயங்களை மட்டும் பாராட்டுகிறார். சிலரிடம் உரிமையாக திருத்தங்களையும் சொல்கிறார்.

அந்த வகையில் ரஜினி சமீபத்தில் பார்த்துப் பாராட்டியுள்ள படம் மிஷ்கின் இயக்கத்தில், சேரன் நடித்துள்ள ‘யுத்தம் செய்’. அடுத்தடுத்த தோல்விகளைச் சந்தித்துள்ள இந்த இருவருக்குமே ‘யுத்தம் செய்’ மிக முக்கியமான படம்.

படம் முடிந்து வெளியீட்டுக்குத் தயாராக உள்ள நிலையில், அதன் சிறப்பு காட்சியை ரஜினிக்காக ஏற்பாடு செய்து, பார்க்க அழைத்தனர்.

ரஜினியும் நேற்று மாலை யுத்தம் செய் படம் பார்க்க வந்தார். அவரை சேரனும் மிஷ்கினும் வரவேற்று அழைத்துச் சென்றனர்.

படம் முடிந்ததும், இருவரையும் பாராட்டிய ரஜினி, யுத்தம் செய் படத்தின் காட்சி அமைப்பும் வர்ணனையும் வித்தியாசமாக இருந்ததாகக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

இந்தப் படத்தில் சேரன் சிபிஐ அதிகாரியாக நடித்துள்ளார். அவரையும் தனியாகப் பாராட்டினார் (இதே சேரனை அவரது ‘பொற்காலம்’ படத்துக்காக, அம்பாஸடர் பல்லவா ஹோட்டலில் நடந்த தனது பட விழா ஒன்றில் 5 பவுன் தங்கச் சங்கிலி அணிவித்து பாராட்டி மகிழ்ந்தவர் தலைவர்! ஆனால் இதே சேரன் ரஜினியை கடுமையாக தூற்றிப் பேசவும் செய்தார்!)

ஒய் ஜி மகேந்திரன் இந்தப் படத்தில் முக்கிய பாத்திரத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார். அவரும் இந்தக் காட்சிக்கு வந்திருந்தார். அவரிடம், “வர வர ரொம்ப டிஃபரெண்டான கேரக்டர்ல கலக்க ஆரம்பிச்சிட்டீங்க” என்று கமெண்ட் அடித்தார் ரஜினி.

ரோபோவுக்குப் பிறகு ரஜினியை வைத்து ஒரு நேரடி இந்திப் படம் இயக்க ஆர்வமாக உள்ளதாக பிரபல இயக்குநர் ரோஹித் ஷெட்டி கூறியுள்ளார். இவரது சமீபத்திய படம் கோல்மால் 3 பெரிய அளவு வெற்றி பெற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இப்போது தனது அடுத்த படத்துக்காக ரஜினியை அணுகியுள்ளதாக என்டிடிவி செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. இப்போதைக்கு ரஜினிக்கு நெருக்கமானவர்களிடம் தனது திட்டம் குறித்துப் பேசியுள்ளார் ரோஹித்.

இந்த அழைப்பை ரஜினி ஒப்புக் கொள்வாரா நிராகரிப்பாரா என்பது தெரியவில்லை.

Was at Rotary conference today where (pattimanra pechalar) Raja was one of the guest speakers.

He shared this information which happened during Sivaji shoot..

His first dialogue was " yaar niinga? enna venum?" ( When Rajini ande Vivek visits his house)

That was his first day in front of cine cameras and he took 8 takes till afternoon and sothappified properly.

Lunch was Biriyani and he didnt feel like eating and came to Shankar and said.. please leave me.. I'll go back..

Sultan has been again renamed as 'Ranaa', with SS doing dual role, one as the animated sultan and the other one being real. KS Ravikumar is the director, Rathnavelu is the cameraman and ARR is the composer. Vijayalakshmi pairs the animated Rajni and Trisha pairs the real Rajni.

After making her debut with SRK and working with all the top actors in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone is headed to conquer the South. She has now been offered a film opposite none other than superstar Rajnikanth.

Deepika had a meeting with the makers of this film last week and she loved the script. Deepika, who happens to be a huge fan of Rajnikanth's, finds herself in a big dilemma though: her date diaries are saturated.

She is now trying to figure out how to commit to this film. Apparently, the actress is extremely keen on working with him, despite her choc-a-bloc schedule.

Our source said, "Deepika has been offered the film and a meeting with its producers also went off well. The film has Rajnikanth in a double role. The makers felt that Deepika was perfect for the lead role and that she would fit the character very well.

Unfortunately, the producers of the film want to take it on floors this year and Deepika has her hands full with Aarakshan, Desi Boys and a new film with Saif Ali khan to be directed by Homi Adajania apart from a few other projects.

Now she is trying hard to adjust her dates so she doesn't miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with Rajnikanth."

When contacted, Deepika Padukone said, "I am really honoured to be approached to act with Rajnikanth."

The actress's spokesperson however was quick to add, "We have been approached but it is too early to talk about it. We need to work on dates as many films are in combination with a lot of senior actors. It is not an easy decision. Of course we would like to be part of Rajnikanth's film. It is a huge honour."

Of course, refusing Rajnikanth has its own consequences. Just kidding, Deepika!

Just when news about Endhiran is subsiding, brand Rajini is making news again: Not for his next (animated) movie Hara but for his next project with director KS Ravikumar. The news is official now that Rajini and KS Ravikumar have agreed to work on a project together which has been titled "Rana". The USP of the movie is that Rajinikanth will be acting in three roles in the movie. The last time we saw Rajinikanth in three roles was in Moondru Mugam.

Rana will be co-produced by Eros International and Ocher studios. The multi-lingual, which will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, will have music by AR Rahman who also scored music for Rajinikanht's last movie Endhiran. Editing will be done by Anthony and Ratnavelu, of Endhiran fame, will be the cinematographer. Art direction will be taken care by Rajeevan while The technical & special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios. The shooting is expected to commence in March this year and the film is expected to be released in 2012.

There is some more action on the Super Star front. Just a few days after his 'Rana' was announced we have started hearing about his next film.

According to our sources, Rajini will join hands with Shankar again after completing ‘Rana’. Interestingly the current projects of the actor and the director are starting almost at the same time. If Shankar has just begun his 3-Idiots, the super star film would start rolling from March.

The Rajini-Shankar combination film will be produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and the official announcement is expected soon after the state assembly election gets over in May.

Meanwhile the Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone is keeping her diary free for ‘Rana’. She is even said to have opted out of a film with Akshay Kumar to accommodate 'Rana' it comes to her finally.

அரசியலில் ஈடுபடுவதற்கு முன் நம்முடைய பொருளாதார வசதி, குடும்பச் சூழ்நிலை முதலியவற்றை ஒருநிலைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு “இனி இங்கே வேலை கிடையாது. எனவே அரசியலுக்குப் போவோம்” என்ற எண்ணமில்லாமல், உண்மையிலேயே மக்களுக்குச் சேவை செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிற குறிக்கோளுடன் அந்தச் சாக்கடையை சுத்தம் பண்ண நாம் போகவேண்டும். இல்லேன்னா சாக்கடைப் பக்கமே போகக் கூடாது.

பாலசந்தர்: என்றாவது ஒரு நாம் அரசியலில் ஈடுபடலாம் என்கிற எண்ணம் உனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறது. பெங்களூரில் நீ பேசியதைக் கேட்டபின்பு, நீயும் அரசியலில் ஈடுபடவேண்டும் என்பதுதான் என் விருப்பம் கூட. உடனடியாக இல்லாவிட்டாலும், அமிதாப்பைப் போல சில ஆண்டுகம் கழித்து அரசியலுக்கு வரலாம். உன்னுடைய அபிப்பிராயம் என்ன?

During that period, he played a breezy innings in indhi - andhA kanoon (1983) was possibly his first and a big success. This was sattam oru iruttarai's remake.

Then gangvaa was a big success too IIRC, in 1984 (malayur mambattiyAn remake).

So, in a way, he was well-known in indhi at that time.

இதுபற்றி நஸ்ருதீன் கூறும்போது, ரஜினி, சில் க்ஸ்மிதா நடித்த படங்களின் சி.டி.யை இயக்குனர் எனக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தார். ரஜினி நடித்த எந்திரன் படத்தையும் பார்க்க உள்ளேன். அதன் பிறகு ரஜினி போல் நடிப்பேன் என்றார்.

AK is not his only hit... there were solo hits/average grossers like John Jani Janardhan (moondru mugam), apart from many multi-starrers including Hum that did extremely well. Phool Bane Angaray was a superhit and Tyagi (Dharmadurai) was a hit in the Hindi heartland.
the humble-pie bit on Geraftaar is off the mark because it was planned as a KH film and AB and RK were roped in to play cameos later. in the process, the AB role was extended for obvious reasons and by the time it released it became an AB film with two southern superstars playing along. it's still an extended guest appearance for AB though he brought in the initial (he did that for Andhaa Kanoon too). and he is still the best part of what's essentially a campy potboiler.

AL. Vijay saar ellaam edukkuraar, adhu hit-um aayidudhu, critical acclaim-um kidaikkudhu. Rajini's script and KSR's captainship however mokkai they are will be at least a thousand times better than what AL Vijay came up with.

He was completely overwhelmed and was not comfortable at all. And I was right about the politics question and the answer (it was no comments this time). PC said he had a great chance in 1996. And loved Ajay D / Vidya B / Trisha / Katrina's comments. Trisha particularly was good. Trishakku oru chance kuduthurunga thalaivaa. Was a little disappointed that he said robot is his best so far, it used to be muLLum malarum. But I think he was simply playing it to the gallery.
