View Full Version : Yester Years Comedians - the lesser famous ones..

PARAMASHIVAN
3rd February 2010, 05:50 PM
During the Eighties till mid 90's anNan Gounder dominated the screen along with Senthil.. but there were few other comedians around who were not as famous as anNan Gounds.

Who did you like most out of these comedians?

PARAMASHIVAN

I voted for moorthy, he had two famous dialogues

1) adEngappa - he always says this

2) Moothevi - again a regular word from him

3) pap pap Paapa - :rotfl:

I can imitate the following star very well

Shivaji, MGR, Rajni, Vijaya Kanth, Gounder, Karthick and moorthy. But some how I am addicted to moorthy's two punch dialogues

1) adEEngappa

2) pap pap prrrraappaaa :rotfl3:

I voted for Vennira Adai Moorthy..... :D

first of all he is not from mid 80s. He is surviving from 1965 onwards (45 years) with a standard market, till now busy in field.

Next one I like in the list is S.Ve.Sekhar. He is well known for 'Timing Comedy', same like our Kamal.

I surprise to see Janakaraj got 2 votes  . I never accept Janagaraj and Chinni Jayanth as comediens.

It will be better to add Y.Gee.Mahendran also in the list.

I know that, but he was at his peak only in 80'sI don't think he had any "peak" moments. Always been there, after the main comedians who enjoyed their cycle. From Nagesh's time, to Suruli, then Annan, to whoever is dominating now, VAM had the same market, as Mr_Karthik put it. But I notice that the younger generation seemed to be much fonder of him. He's always the "get the job done" guy.

Watched Mundru Theivanggal (1971) last night, with heavyweights* around, he managed to hold on his own. Wife burst out laughing at the first sight of him. Voted for him. :D

Of the list, All the three - SV sekhar, VAM & Janakaraj are all good. Very little to chosse between three. As a tie breaker, voted for Janakaraj earlier because I have seen many of his movies comapred to the other two.

SV Sekhar is awesome. I like him more him drama's than movies. S vee is a pretty good entertainer, I say! :notworthy:
VAM is funny too. Double meaning dialaaks notwithstanding he is a very unique and hilarious.
Always found SS Sandhiran to be marana mokkai. :fatigue: I think he would topple YGM as the "mokkai-est" kaamedian, I say.

Yeah, SVS is definitely better than Vivek, simply because he does not do mimicry. He has his own understated style. More cut out for stage, than film...if not he could have been as "successful" as Pandyarajan, if you know what I mean. :P

I wanted to vote for S.Ve. Sekar for the man he is in his writing skills and his presentation skills, I think VAM would just top up Sekar's comical sense with his dialogue delivery.

Not sure whether anyone has seen Sekar's interview with Yugi in Naiyaandi Darbaar (no youtube links yet :( ) Sekar was just awesome through the interview..
