If big accomplishments and global recognition are to be the criteria, I think these are the ones who deserve to be on any Tamil National song if it were to be made today. I have left out arts (else ARR would be an automatic choice) and politics (Abdul Kalam in as a scientist).

Vishwanathan Anand
Vijay Amritraj
Ramesh Krishnan
V Bhaskaran
Muttiah Muralidharan
K Srikkaanth
Peter Velappan
Abdul Kalam
R. Chidambaram
Chandrasekar
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan
M. S. Swaminathan
Shiv Nadar

இதற்குப்பெரும் காரணம் ஈழத்தமிழர்கள் என்பதில் ஐயமே இல்லை.
