We have been working on ARULMIGU AANANDAVALLI SAMETHA THIRUNANDEESWARAR TEMPLE, MANAVUR.
The temple dates back to 1200 years. One will surprise to know that when this temple was well maintained, the doors of this temple, when closed/opened, the bell sound will be heard in chidambaram, only after which the Chidambaram temple will be closed when aaru(6)kaalapooja was in vogue at all Sivaalayas.

Since this temple happens to be a replica of all 5 five sabais and situated very adjacent to Thiruvalangadu Shree Vadaaranyeswarar temple has more legacy associated with it. Lord shiva after his celestial dance performance in Thiruvalangadu, which karaikal ammaiyar witnessed, came to Manavur and gave darshan to sage agasthiar with his consort. There is a famous saying "ஆடியது ஆலங்காட்டில், அமர்ந்தது திருவூறலில், மணந்தது மணவூரில்". Which means, Lord shiva danced in Thiruvalangadu, rested in Thiruvooral (now known as Thakkolam) and married Parvathi at Manavur. Our blogspot provided underneath will detail historical and valuable information about this shrine.

Meanwhile we also take this opportunity to cascade the message that even an intention to arrange poojas/renovating of ancient dilapidated Shivalayaas will bring extraordinary benefit to the devotees family. Thirunelveli Sthalapuraanam exclaims that devotees, who provide some small quantity of sand/mud or few bricks towards the cause of Shivaalaya renovation will fetch warm welcome in Kailash, when the soul of the donor reaches the heavenly abode.
