Tamannah is a hot property in Telugu now.

Soon after signing two films - Allu Arjun's Badrinath and Naga Chaitanya - Sukumar film, both are under progress, she has grabbed a biggie. She will be doing the female lead opposite NTR.

It would be her first film with NTR. Buzz is that she has been signed by director Surender Reddy for his new film with hero NTR. The movie will go to the sets shortly. More details are awaited.

Tamanna's craze in Tamil Nadu is only increasing day by day. So much so that there are around ten fan clubs of Tamanna in various parts of Tamil Nadu.

Now the Tirchy based Tamanna fan club members made a request for her. They want to donate blood on her birthday on December 21st and requested her to attend this program.

They are also planning to donate clothes and food to poor people on that particular day and they want Tamanna to distribute them.

Seeing their love for her, Tamanna told them that she would sponsor for the education of five poor students in their area and requested them to identify such persons!

Jeeva and Karthika are playing the lead roles. After the shock flop of Josh movie in Telugu, Karthika is confined to Tamil and Malayalam films.

Now latest reports have emerged that Tamanna and Shriya Saran are all set to act in crucial roles in the movie and they are going to do it for free!

Apparently the director of movie, KV Anand, felt that Karthika does not have the star power to attract audience and roped in these two beauties too for playing small bits.

Since this director is very close with Tamanna and Shriya, they agreed to do it for free.

Director Hari's films have a Minimum Guarantee at the box-office. His films are based on family feuds, blood and revenge sagas with lots of ladies sentiments and set in southern Tamilnadu like Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts.

Hari is one director who takes special care in the way he has projected his heroines. His films with action, family sentiments, comedy track, violence and a heroine who always wears pavadai- dhavani. She will have flowers on her hair, vibhuthi on her forehead, hair tightly combed backwards and above all she will be the epitome of goodness.

Hari heroines are not mere show pieces in films with a larger-than-life hero. They will have a meaty role with lots of comedy and romance in it. In his films there will never be two girls competing for the hero or any crude dialogues with double meaning. Tamannaah is riding high on a wave of hits, and working on back-to-back projects in Tamil and Telugu. She speaks about what it takes to succeed at the box office. Her Exclusive Interview to you via Tamannaah fans Club.

This Mumbai girl’s lingo now includes Tamil words. “I keep saying ayyo and chumma even when I am in Mumbai. Though chumma has a different meaning there, I can’t stop using it,” laughs Tamannaah.

The feisty star is enjoying a high point in her career.

Her recent Tamil hits have been breezy entertainers. Currently, she is busy with back-to-back projects in Tamil and Telugu. “What a shame, I am yet to watch Robot,” she says. She’s also busy working out, and ensures she eats a balanced diet comprising five meals a day to keep fit and energetic.

“It feels good,” she says about the line-up of projects. In Telugu, she pairs up with Allu Arjun for the big-budget Badrinath. There’s also a feel-good love story with Naga Chaitanya, directed by Sukumar, and a film with junior NTR, to be directed by Surender Reddy.

In Tamil, she has Siruthai, a re-make of Ravi Teja’s film Vikramarkudu with Karthi, directed by Telugu filmmaker Shiva. Also, director Hari’s film with Dhanush.

She says the commercial success of her movies brings out the best in her. “It has made me responsible about choosing the right films.”

Her honest performances have helped her find a niche in the southern film industry. “I am 19 films old. Now I want to do roles that are different and those I would enjoy performing.”

Language is no barrier. After the success of Happy Days that marked this charming actor’s entry into Telugu films, Tamannaah did a spate of Tamil films such as Ayan, Kandaen Kaadhalai and Paiyya. Now, she is back to doing more Telugu movies.

“I don’t want boredom to set in. In commercial cinema, roles for heroines are limited to being simple or glamorous. I don’t want to fall into an image trap. I would love to do realistic films that are entertaining. There is an audience for films such as Enthiran that are made on a grand scale as also for realistic films such as those of Sasikumar and Radha Mohan,” she says.

A director’s actor, Tamannaah portrays her characters the way they have been conceived and visualised by the directors. “I love being part of the movie-making process. There is magic. There is an element of mystery and unpredictability. As an actor, I play my part with conviction, but the results are not in my hands. Be it success or failure, I don’t succumb to pressure.”

On sharing the screen with senior actors such as Vijay and Surya, Tamannaah says, “Besides understanding their individual styles, I have learnt a lot.”

Her journey so far… “I have enjoyed every moment. Since I started young, it was easy to adapt. To become a better actor, one needs to look inwards and understand oneself better. Then, you can create magic on screen.”

What’s on her mind now? “A well-deserved vacation.”

The prestigious Vijaya productions which made many superhit films in Telugu in the 1960s and 1970s has been revived once again and now is being managed by Venkatarama Reddy who is a descendant of the producer/director BN Reddy.

Now he is producing “Vengai” in Tamil which has Tamannaah and Dhanush in the lead roles.

Speaking to the media, he could not help praising Tamannaah and said that she can be safely called as the ‘new age Savitri’!

“She is really wonderful. just like Savitri, Tamannaah is also expert to carry out an entire scene without any dialogues and with only facial expressions” he said!

He also said that he is also looking forward to producing more films in Telugu and Tamil.

iruthai, Karthi Sivakumar’s forthcoming film, has done away with the shootings and the film is getting ready for Pongal. It is reportedly an action extravaganza for this harvest festival.

Produced by Studio Green the Tamil version, directed by Siva, will have Karthi and Tamannah replacing Ravi Teja and Anushka respectively from their Telugu flick Vikramarkudu.

Karthi is playing a double role for the first time. Moreover in one of the song sequences, Karthi appears in nine avatars which surely will amaze his fans.

2011 is a good year for Tamannaah too. She has 4 high-profile projects already in hand and is waiting to enthrall onscreen in Tollywood and as well as Tamil. While she has almost completed shooting for Siruthai with Karthi, currently she is continuing work in Vengai opposite Dhanush. The beauty spoke to us as she revealed why she chose to act opposite Karthi in yet another movie. Here is an excerpt.

So how did this project take shape, tell us about your role in the movie Tamannaah?

“Director Siva had seen me in Kandaen Kadhalai and he liked what I’d done in that film and offered me the lead in his film. I saw the original version before agreeing to do this project and started shooting for Siruthai when Paiyaa hit the screens.I play an easy-to-impress girl, who believes in everything. She’s innocent and at times, gullible. She falls in love with a pickpocket, played by Karthi”

This is your second collaboration with Karthi have you been worried lately with the media hinting link ups with Karthi?

“I find link-up rumors stupid. I have clarified it a zillion times! I felt comfortable shooting with Karthi because we’ve already done a film together. We used to be either shooting or promoting Paiyaa and this increased our comfort level. We understood our mutual pluses and minuses and worked accordingly. It helped us improvise our scenes and we didn’t feel awkward while doing mush scenes.”

It’s nice to hear that. So shooting for the song at Phuket must have been fun isn’t it?

“Producer Gnanavel is a cool man and he didn’t hesitate to spend for the film. And Siva is such a sweet director. I didn’t feel like I was on a movie set. The weather conditions in Phuket were unpredictable and it was difficult to shoot there. But Siva didn’t panic. Usually, filming abroad is tiring, but my Phuket schedule was anything but strenuous!” she smiles.

You play a courageous village girl in this film. After Kalloori, this is the second time you have opted to sport a simple look. Oh yes we forget to tell you we know about your attire pavada chattai, you really look beautiful in that dress.

Your birthday around the corner and you seem to be busy with shooting schedules you must be missing the fun?

“Well not at all, I’m shooting for Hari’s Venghai in Karaikudi on my birthday.

My mom is always with me and my dad and brother will fly down to wherever I’m shooting on that day. But honestly, I feel happy if I work on my birthday and believe I will then be working for the rest of the year,” she signs off.

What she did - She tried her best to save both Sura and Thillalangadi from being duds. However, Tamannaah stays put at the top due to the blockbuster Paiyya. She has managed to hold on to her number one position due to sheer tenacity, a dash of luck and star power. Even though her box office clout maybe a little suspect right now, her screen presence and professionalism puts her ahead of her rivals.

Future projects - All top actors and banners are after her dates. She has Siruthai ready for release in January 2011 and Hari's Vengai as a summer release.

Tamannaah is celebrating her 21st birthday today.

Looks like everyone wants a slice of Tamannaah these days. She has done a lot for a girl in her early twenties having garnered fame in both Tamil and Telugu.

She's been living out of her suitcases for the last two years. Travelling to Hyderabad, Europe, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Madurai.

Her choc-a-bloc schedule could give the prime minister a complex. And when she gets that one day off, it's an unending stream of story sessions, ad shoots and ribbon cuttings.

Is it a punishing life style? She quickly says: "Actually, I am enjoying every bit of it. Today, in spite of being my birthday, I am on the sets of Hari sir's Vengai with Dhanush. My parents and brother have flown down with me last night to Karaikudi. Yesterday I prayed with them at Tirupati temple"

It was a sort of thanksgiving for the actress who confesses that this Tirupati trip was long overdue .

She adds: "Trust me, I didn't have time to take a day's off to visit Tirupati. Now I am relieved and happy that I got a fantastic darshan".

So what is your birthday gift? She smiles: "I will have to disappoint you on this, as it's not a jewellery set or car that my parents brought me, but them being with me is my biggest birthday gift".

Well, there's no stopping the shiny, happy young girl.

Tamannah, who is eagerly awaiting the release of Siruthai and busy shooting for Vengai, took time off to visit Tirupati on her birthday today (December 21st, 2010). Soon after the darshan early in the morning, the actress rushed back to Karaikudi to be there at the Vengai shooting spot :thumbsup: .

The birthday girl will be spending her special day on the sets and later in the day with her entire family stationed in Karaikudi. Tamannah has had a busy year and is looking forward for another work-filled year. She has two Tamil films in the pipeline – Siruthai and Vengai and three Telugu films in her kitty now.

Tamanna who is currently shooting alongside Dhanush in Hari directed Venghai in Karikudi is going to celebrate her birthday on the set of the Vengahi.

Not only that, Director Hari and actor Dhanush had planned a surprise party for our Tammu.
Unaware of Dhanush and Hari’s plans for her special day had an early morning darshan at the Tirupati temple on Monday.

Year 2010 at the box office had seen few hits and misses for Tamanna and that includes, Sura Thillalangadi, Paiya.

Though she had 3 releases in Tamil in 2010, 2011 will see just two release as per her projects so far. Tamanna has Siruthai with Karthi with she is is paired up again after the hit Paiyya. For the second time again Tamanna is pairing up with Dhanush after the super hit Padikadavan and this time for Director Hari's Venghai.

Tamanna notifies that since she has signed on 3 films in Telugu she hasn't signed on any 9n Tamil as she cant manage dates. Tamanna clarifies the media that, “I’m very busy doing three films in Telugu opposite NTR, Allu Arjun and Nag Chaithanya. After I complete work on those films by June 2011, I will be in a position to give dates for new Tamil films. Let me make it clear I am listening to new scripts and will definitely sign more Tamil films next year.”

மணிரத்னம், ஷங்கர், கௌதம்மேனன், சசிகுமார், ராதாமோகன் போன்ற இயக்குநர்களோட படங்கள்ல நடிக்கணும்னு ஆசைகள் நிறைய இருக்கு. இன்னும் ஐந்து வருஷம் கழிச்சு பார்க்குறப்ப நல்ல கேரக்டர்கள் பண்ணியிருக்கோம்னு மனசு சந்தோஷப்படணும்.

Actress Dipa Shah, who is debuting in Mysskin’s Yudham Sei opposite Cheran, is a perfectionist. Though not a Tamilian, she has intense passion to learn the language and during the shoot of the film, she asked the directors and assistant directors for the meaning of each dialogue and how to deliver it with mannerisms.

She would try them out after that and only then get ready to shoot. Sources close to the film’s unit say that the actress knows eight languages and hence picks up fast and has already got a hang of the Tamil language.
