James Bond 007 is one of the most famous Characters in Cinema World. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan etc have acted as James Bond and become very famous. After these Stars, Daniel Craig is presently acting in this character now.

If we like to see unlimited grandeurs, Action sequences, then, we can see it more in James Bond films only. Daniel Craig has acted as James Bond in the films Casino Royale (2006), and Quantum of Solace (2008).

Daniel Craig’s next project is “Bond – 23”. It is to start from November. This film is to be directed by Sam Mendes. This is the 23rd film, which is made in the James Bond series. They have planned to release this film in the year 2012.

JB23 Gossips :

Writer John Logan : “I’m deeply, deeply embedded in the world of 007,” he says. “It’s a little intimidating because when this movie comes out it will be the 50th anniversary of Dr No, so it’s a long and respected franchise.”

Dench (M) : I am going to do the next Bond in November. I don’t know the location yet but hopefully it will be somewhere nice. I can’t tell you much more but I do enjoy playing M as she is such a strong character. I like being bossy and my grandson thinks its cool that I’m in Bond.

(Interesting : Kevin Spacey was offered Bond 23 villain role – regrettably unavailable to star)

Two names, One very important => substituted with "etc" ! Why reject
But there is a probability that "etc" could hold TR & Simbu too. To evaluate !

A2A, Talaivar was approached after Connery left. But Eastwood said it's was not his gig (http://www.imdb.com/news/ni4230370/). Dalton. Well if you are into the books first, you will like him.Not all Fleming lovers, but most fans appreciate his performance that's close to the book. Ithu solli solli retirement level-ukku vanthutten.

Me too for Dalton !

And I cannot recollect in which interview Micheal Cane talks about Clint Eastwood refusing James bond Role. And I have seen the interview of Clint Eastwood (can't remeber which one - I think its just after "Any Which Way You Can" or "Every Which Way but Loose" ...) where he tells that he is NOT "Bond" type with a crooked smile ;)

I wanted to ask : Why is "Casino Royale" by Peter Sellers and "Never say Never again" not considered as "Bond" series. Is it because of different production house or is their any other reason ?

Casino Royale: Fleming sold the rights to the book way back in '53 to someone else, it was made into a TV live play with Barry Nelson as Bond. Later Albert Brocolli and Harry Saltzman bought the rest of Fleming's book. When it took off after '62, interest cropped up to make Casino Royale by the then copyrights holder (Charles Feldman-nu nenekkiren), so they worked on a script, kept working, from serious became a spoof. They even invited Connery to play the Bond when he was in a temporary hiatus after '67 (You Only Live Twice), he was not interested. Then, they went ahead and shot the film with so many scriptwriters getting involved and many directors. It was never in Brocolli and Saltzman's EON production's hand till much later, when it was snapped up and Craig's version was done.

Never Say Never Again, a remake of Thunderball. Back in late 50s Fleming worked with two other guys on a screen treatment called Operations Thunderball, with Bond in it. Plan to shoot it got dropped. Fleming thought, what the hell, and used the treatment to write the novel, Thunderball. One of the co-writers of the treatment is Kevin McClory. He then sued Fleming for using story that he was also involved in. The court case that dragged was cited as one of the factors contributed to Fleming's death. Court said McClory also had the rights and gave him ten years.

They went and filmed the novel, Thunderball, with McClory agreeing to share producer credit. Of course, he was not happy, he kept renewing the rights to Thunderball for the following decades. Connery was interested in mid-70s, it came out in 1983. Under different company. That is why you don't hear Bond theme, or the logos in NSNA.

But now, all the films are under the same company. Still, these two are never accepted as part of the canon.

At 1:03? I like the very subtle synth theme at the end. Hope to see proper gunbarrel scene and theme.

Bardem and Fiennes, konjam hope irukku.

Only Mendes I watched is Road To Perdition, athuvum for Paul Newman. But nambambamAthingga, I was thinking that Bond should actually look like this son of Newman, I was in terrible anti-Brylcream star-Brosnan mood then.

Non-Bond Brosnan is good. Remember The Matador and Tailor of Panama. Very good. Only when he does Bond I get allergic reactions.

innum parkala. Plus he is good in light comedy, his Remington Steele series, the straight man in Mrs. Doubtfire and Laws of Attraction.

By the way, Craig was fantastic in Road To Perdition, hope Mendes brings out more from him here.

Didn't like last one..

Liked the previous one in CR with cards.

Will they.. Or more pertinently, could they surprise us? Will Mendes abandon the overt pop-anime song routine..

CR might have one of the best prologues too, the brutal ordeal of having to feel the life going out with his hands.. only to be reclaimed and then put down again, the double crossing all foreshadowed..
