The Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) award Tamil goes to Prathiban for the film AAYIRATHIL ORUVAN

Though I didn't find anything remarkable in his acting, he deserves  for his looks, the gait and especially தமிழ் உச்சரிப்பு. Moreover, it wasn't a crowd pleasing role.

Interesting to know 77-89 awards. Obviously, Raja didn't get all of them. But I am sure each year would have had 3-4 films worthy of, some of them like 80 and 82 would have had 8-10 worthy. Now beat that!

Only from 92, they are giving awards for MDs. Rahman was the first Tamil MD to receive a filmfare.

eejit? Then, that explains it. Honestly, the kind of quality-and-quantity that Raja maintained - even if you apply the strictest of the strict standards, 1978-87, post which you can atleast claim that the Ramarajan type sound dominated, and can be considered not as loftily away from the rest of the field as the previous period was - is unparalleled.

Plum, can you break down that statement to at least four sentences. AppOthan enna mathiri semi-literates-ku puriyin. Can't make head or tails.

What? nIngaLE ipdi sollalAma? unga blog postlAm padichchu nAnga purinjukkaradhillai? That too, weird fairy tales, with no reference to go by?

This is the message:
1978-87, Raja had atleast 4-5 albums every year of highest quality worthy of the filmfare, if not teh national, award. You could apply any parameter - inherent quality, aesthetic appeal, mass success, reach - and still, you'd have 4-5 inseparable ones every year. And since Filmfare doesnt always require all of these parameters, if you diluted the requirement to just 1-2 of the above parameters, he'd have atleast 8-12 contenders from every year.

Post-87, there'd still be contenders but probably the strictest all-time standards applied would reduce the number of contenders.

All the same, 1976-92 Filmfares, if given, would have been a thArumARu list for IR.

Oh yes RR, although Malayalam and Kannada werent exactly dominated. Telugu, though, is another story. 85-91 would have been a clean sweep, even more so than in Tamil.
