தமிழ், தெலுங்கில் பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்ற ரமணா படத்தின் இந்தி ரீமேக்கில் நடிக்கிறார் ஷாரூக்கான். இந்தப் படத்தில் அவருக்கு ஜோடியாக நடிக்க முதலில் ஐஸ்வர்யா ராயிடம் பேசப்பட்டது. ஆனால் இப்போது அவர் நடிப்பாரா என்பது உறுதிப்படுத்தப்படவில்லை.

ஊழல் பேர்வழிகளை ஒழித்துக்கட்டி, லஞ்சம் கொடுப்பதும் வாங்குவதும் தவறு என்ற நிலையை நாட்டில் உருவாக்கும் ஒரு பேராசிரியர் வேடத்தில் கலக்கியிருந்தார் விஜயகாந்த்.

அந்தப் படம் தெலுங்கிலும் ரீமேக் செய்யப்பட்டு பெரும் வெற்றியைக் குவித்தது.

இப்போது ரமணா இந்திக்குப் போய்விட்டது. பிரபல இயக்குநர் சஞ்சய் லீலா பன்சாலி இதன் உரிமையைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். தமிழில் இயக்கிய ஏஆர் முருகதாஸ் இயக்க, ஷாரூக்கான் நாயகனாக நடிக்கிறார்.

With the lines between cultural differences among Bollywood and regional movies fast disappearing, Bollywood movies are increasingly beginning to replicate regional language movies. Here are some of the aspiring official remakes of Tamil movies.

K V Anand’s highly successful Ko is being remade into Hindi. The rights were bought at a huge rate recently and the movie, titled Satyagrah, is directed by the renowned director Prakash Jha, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead.

The commercial success Siruthai, which was in turn a Telugu remake of Vikramarkudu, is being made in Hindi. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

There are strong vibes from Bollywood to adapt Kanchana into Hindi. It’s also being said that one of the Khans – SRK or Salman – will don the lead role.

இப்போது எந்தப் படத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசினாலு*ம், அந்தப் படமா...? அது ஹாலிவுட் படத்தோட காப்பியாச்சே என்று கூறுவது சகஜமாகிவிட்டது. வரப் போகிற படத்தின் புகைப்படத்தை வைத்து, மச்சான் இது தான்சானியா படத்தோட காப்பியில்ல என்று டீக்கடையில் பேசிக் கொள்வதைப் பார்த்தால் கிலியாகிறது. தியேட்டரில் படம் பார்க்க வருவதில் பாதி பே*ர், எந்தப் படத்தோட காப்பி இது என்று பார்க்க வருவதாகதான் தோன்றுகிறது. சந்தேகமாக இருப்பவர்கள் இணையத்தில் எழுதுகிறவர்களின் பிளாக்குகளை பார்த்துக் கொள்ளவும்.

இணைய எழுத்தாளர்களின் இந்த உண்மை விளம்பி செயல்பாடு சிலரை கடுமையாக பாதித்திருக்கிறது. மணிரத்னத்தின் நாயகன் காட்பாதரின் காப்**பி, ஆய்தஎழுத்து அமெரோஸ் பெரோஸின் காப்பி என்று கண்டமேனிக்கு எழுதினால் யாருக்கு கோபம் வராது? சுஹாசினி இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களை திட்டி தீர்த்திருக்கிறார். எத்தனை டிவிடிகளைப் பார்த்து தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருப்பார்கள்.

இதில் வேடிக்கை என்னவென்றால் இந்த காப்பி கண்டுபிடிப்பு இப்போது ஒரு நோயாகிவிட்டது. பேரரசின் தருமபுரியில் கூட உலக சினிமாவின் சாயல் தென்படுகிறதா என்று லென்ஸ் வைத்து பார்க்கிறார்கள். சமீபத்தில் வந்த கோ படத்தில் அரசியல்வாதியாக வரும் அஜ்மல் ஜீவாவை ஏமாற்றிவிடுவார். கமலின் சத்யா படத்திலும்கூட அரசியல்வாதி கிட்டி கமலை ஏமாற்றுவார். உடனே சத்யாதாண்டா கோ என்று அடித்துவிட்டார்கள். எந்தப் படமாக இருந்தாலும் தங்களுடைய விமர்சன கோணிப் பையில் அடைத்துவிட வேண்டும். அப்படி ஒரு வெறி.

இந்த கோணிப்பை இப்போது அடுத்தக்கட்டத்தை எட்டியிருக்கிறது. அதாவது காப்பி அடித்து படமெடுக்கலாமா? அப்படி எடுத்தால் அது தவறா? இல்லை, காப்பி அடித்துவிட்டு அது பற்றி சொல்லாமல் கம்மென்றிருந்துவிடுவது தவறா? நந்தலாலா, தெய்வத்திருமகள் விஷயத்தில் இதுதான் நடந்தது. நந்தலாலா கிகுஜிரோவின் காப்*பி, தெய்வத்திருமகள் ஐயம் சாமின் காப்*பி. இதை எடுத்தவர்கள் அதுபற்றி மூச்சே விடவில்லை. இது தேசத்துரோகம் என்று ஒரு கோஷ்டி. இதிலென்ன துரோகம்... உலக சினிமா பார்க்காதவங்க எத்தனை பேர் இருக்காங்க, அவங்களுக்கு இது யூஸ் ஆகுமே என்று இன்னொரு கோஷ்டி. காப்பி தப்பில்லை, ஆனா எந்தப் படத்தோட காப்பிங்கிறதை நேர்மையா சொல்லிடணும் என்ற நேர்மை விளம்பிகள் இன்னொரு பக்கம்.

இந்த கோஷ்டி சண்டையிலிருந்து ஒன்று மட்டும் புரிகிறது. எந்தப் படம் அல்லது எந்தக் காட்சி எந்தப் படத்திலிருந்து சுடப்பட்டது என்பதை அறிய அனைவரும் ஆவலாக இருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த ஆவலை பூர்த்தி செய்யதான் இந்த காப்பி கல்சர். ( உஷ்...ஒருவழியா தலைப்புக்குவிளக்கம் கொடுத்தாச்சி).

முதலில் விஜய் படத்திலிருந்து தொடங்கலாம்.

விஜய்க்கு ஸ்டெடியான மார்க்கெட்டை உருவாக்கித் தந்த முதல் படம் பூவே உனக்காக. இந்தப் படத்தின் முக்கியமான நகைச்சுவை காட்சி மலையாளப் படமொன்றிலிருந்து உருவப்பட்டது. முதலில் மலையாளப் படத்தைப் பார்ப்போம்.

துளசிதாஸ் இயக்கத்தில் 1994 ல் வெளிவந்த படம் மலப்புறம் ஹாஜி மகனாய ஜோஷி. இந்தப் படத்தில் முகே*ஷ், சித்திக் இருவரும் நண்பர்கள். முகேஷ் இந்து, சித்திக் முஸ்ஸிம். சித்திக்கின் தந்தைக்கு, தனது மகன் தனது நண்பனின் பள்ளியில் வாத்தியாராக வேண்டும் என்று ஆசை. அந்த பள்ளி அவர்கள் ஊரிலிருந்து நெடுந்தொலைவில் உள்ளது. சித்திக்கிற்கோ வெளிநாட்டுக்கு போக வேண்டும் என்று ஆசை. தந்தைக்கும் மகனுக்குமான இந்த கருத்து வேறுபாடு முற்றும் போது சித்திக் செய்யும் ஒரு கோல்மால்தான் கதை.

சித்திக்கின் தந்தையின் நண்பர் சித்திக்கை சின்ன வயதில் பார்த்திருக்கிறார், வளர்ந்த பிறகு பார்த்ததில்லை. அதனால் தனக்குப் பதில் முகேஷை அந்த வேலைக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டு அவர் வெளிநாடு செல்ல மும்பைக்கு செல்வார். இப்போது முகேஷ் சித்திக்கின் பெயரில் வாத்தியாராக வேலை பார்ப்பார். அதாவது முஸ்லிமாக. இந்நிலையில் முகேஷின் ஊரிலுள்ள பெண் ஒருத்தி அவர் தற்போது வேலைப் பார்க்கும் ஊருக்கு திருமணமாகி வருவாள். அவளை திருமணம் செய்திருப்பது ஒரு ராணுவ வீரன். தவிர்க்க முடியாத ஒரு சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் முகேஷ் தன்னைப் பற்றிய உண்மையை அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் கூறுவார். இதனை தொலைவிலிருந்து அப்பெண்ணின் கணவன் பார்ப்பான். அதே நேரம் முகேஷுடன் வேலை பார்க்கும் முஸ்லிமான ஜெகதி இந்த ரகசியத்தை ஒட்டுக் கேட்பார். முகேஷ் ஜெகதியின் பரம விரோதி. முகேஷைப் பற்றிய உண்மையை அப்பள்ளியின் தாளாளர் ஹாஜியாரிடம் சொல்ல ஜெகதி ஓடுவார். அவரைத் தடுக்க பின்னாலேயே ஓடுவார் முகேஷ். அதேநேர*ம், தனது மனைவிக்கு**ம், முகேஷுக்கும் தொடர்பு இருப்பதாக கருதும் அப்பெண்ணின் கணவன் துப்பாக்கியுடன் முகேஷை சுட பின்னாலேயே ஓடுவான். இந்த ரேஸில் அவன் சுடும் குண்டு ஜெகதியின் தொண்டையில் செருகிக் கொள்ளும்.

இப்போது ஜெகதியால் பேச முடியாது. மருத்துவமனையில் பேப்பரில் விஷயத்தை எழுதி நர்ஸிடம் கொடுக்க முயலும் போது முகேஷு*ம், சித்திக்கும் அதனை பிடுங்**கி, நர்ஸை பற்றி தவறாக எழுதியிருப்பதாகப் போட்டுக் கொடுப்பார்கள்.

இந்தக் காட்சியை விக்ரமன் அப்படியே சுட்டு பூவே உனக்காக படத்தில் வைத்திருப்பார். விஜய் அந்த வீட்டின் வாரிசு அல்ல என்பதையு**ம், அவர் அங்கு வந்ததற்கான காரணத்தையும் சங்கீதாவிடம் சொல்வதை ஒருவன் மறைந்திருந்து கேட்பான். அதை சொல்ல அவன் ஓடும் போது கத்தி எறிந்து விளையாடுகிறவனின் கத்தி அவன் தொண்டையில் செருகிக் கொள்ளும். அவனால் பேச முடியாமல் போகும். ச*ரி, விக்ரமனும் துளசிதாஸைப் போல் யோசித்திருப்பார் என்ற நினைத்தா*ல், மருத்துவமனை லட்டர் காட்சியும் அடுத்து அப்படியே வரு*ம்*, ஈயடிச்சான் காப்பி. மலப்புறம் ஹாஜி மகனாய ஜோஷி 1994 ல் வெளியானது. பூவே உனக்காக 1996.

The remake of South blockbuster Vettai is in jeopardy. While UTV was seriously motivated to go ahead with their venture, after co-producer Karan Johar quit the production, we've learnt that lead actor Shahid Kapoor may follow suit.
According to a source close to the film, Shahid isn't too impressed with the script. In fact, the actor was a little taken aback with the mismatch between the original Vettai and the script for its Hindi remake. He discussed it with Karan Johar as well. "The final narration did not go down too well with Shahid. He won't do the film, if he is not happy with it," said the source.
Meanwhile, to convince Shahid about the film, director Linguswamy, who having directed the original is also in charge of the Hindi remake, will be flying down to Mumbai on Thursday.
Earlier, Sonakshi Sinha had refused to be a part of the same Hindi remake. According to sources close to the production house, Sonakshi wasn't too happy when she found out that she was being considered for the second female lead.
According to rumours, for the female lead in the Hindi remake Ileana D'Cruz is being considered by the makers. However, that will only be finalised after Shahid gives his nod of approval. Shahid and UTV remained unavailable for comment.

இவர்கள் எப்போது காதலிப்பதை வெளிப்படையாகச் சொல்லப் போகிறார்கள்? நாயகனுக்கும் நம்மைப் போலவே தவிப்பு. ஆனால் அவள் நான் திருமணம் செய்துக் கொள்ளப் போகிறவன் என்று ஒருவனை நாயகனுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்துகிறாள். அவள் அவர்களை தனியாகவிட்டு வெளியே சென்றதும் நமது நாயகன் நாயகியின் குணங்களைப் பட்டியலிட்டு அவள் செய்யும் ஒவ்வொரு விஷயத்திற்கும் என்ன அர்த்தம் என்று அவனிடம் கூறுகிறான். அவளைப் பற்றிய முழுமையான அறிதலாக அது இருக்கிறது. இதனை சொல்லிவிட்டு ஹீரோ கிளம்பிவிடுகிறான். நாயகி வருகிறாள். அவளிடம் நாயகன் சொன்னதை அந்த நபர் விளக்குகிறான். அப்போதுதான் நாயகிக்கு அவன் எவ்வளவு தூரம் அவளது சுயத்தை தொடர்ந்து வந்திருக்கிறான் என்பது புரிகிறது. அழுகையுடன் அவனைத் தேடிச் செல்கிறாள்.

இந்தக் கதையில் நாயகி ஏன் மது அருந்தி கலாட்டா செய்தாள் என்பதற்கு இயக்குனர் ஒரு கதை வைத்திருக்கிறார். அது நமக்குத் தேவையில்லை. மேலே உள்ள கதையை மட்டும் இப்போது நாம் தமிழுக்கு ஏற்ப மாற்றலாம்.

“முதலாவதாக நாயகன், நாயகியின் குணம். நாயகி டாமினேட்டிங் பெர்சனாலிட்டி. நாயகன் அப்பாவி.”

“செமயா இருக்கும் சார்.”

“புரியாம பேசறீங்களே சார். நம்ம ஹீரோ *ஜீவா மாதிரி ஒரு ஆக்சன் ஹீரோ. எப்பிடி அம்மாஞ்சியா காமிக்கிறது?”

“அதுவும் சரிதான். பெம்பளைங்களே ஒத்துக்க மாட்டாங்க. இப்படி பண்ணுனா என்ன சார், ஹீரோவை டாமினேட்டிங் பர்சனாலிட்டியா மாத்தி ஹீரோயினை டம்மியாக்கிட்டா?”


“அதுல என்ன பாஸ் சுவாரஸிமிருக்கு. நூத்துக்கு தொண்ணூறு படம் அப்படிதானே வருது.”

“பேசாம ஹீரோவையும் சண்டைக்கோழி ஆக்கிருவோம். ஹீரோயினும் லந்து பார்ட்டி, ஹீரோவும் லந்து பார்ட்டி...”

“ஆனாலும் ஒண்ணு இடிக்குதே சார்.”

“எப்பிடி? அதுதான் மத்த எல்லாத்தையும் மாத்திட்டமே. இதுக்கு பேருதான் தோல் இருக்க பழம் திங்கிறது.”

இப்போது எந்தப் படத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசினாலு*ம், அந்தப் படமா...? அது ஹாலிவுட் படத்தோட காப்பியாச்சே என்று கூறுவது சகஜமாகிவிட்டது. வரப் போகிற படத்தின் புகைப்படத்தை வைத்து, மச்சான் இது தான்சானியா படத்தோட காப்பியில்ல என்று டீக்கடையில் பேசிக் கொள்வதைப் பார்த்தால் கிலியாகிறது. தியேட்டரில் படம் பார்க்க வருவதில் பாதி பே*ர், எந்தப் படத்தோட காப்பி இது என்று பார்க்க வருவதாகதான் தோன்றுகிறது. சந்தேகமாக இருப்பவர்கள் இணையத்தில் எழுதுகிறவர்களின் பிளாக்குகளை பார்த்துக் கொள்ளவும்.

இணைய எழுத்தாளர்களின் இந்த உண்மை விளம்பி செயல்பாடு சிலரை கடுமையாக பாதித்திருக்கிறது. மணிரத்னத்தின் நாயகன் காட்பாதரின் காப்**பி, ஆய்தஎழுத்து அமெரோஸ் பெரோஸின் காப்பி என்று கண்டமேனிக்கு எழுதினால் யாருக்கு கோபம் வராது? சுஹாசினி இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களை திட்டி தீர்த்திருக்கிறார். எத்தனை டிவிடிகளைப் பார்த்து தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருப்பார்கள்.

இதில் வேடிக்கை என்னவென்றால் இந்த காப்பி கண்டுபிடிப்பு இப்போது ஒரு நோயாகிவிட்டது. பேரரசின் தருமபுரியில் கூட உலக சினிமாவின் சாயல் தென்படுகிறதா என்று லென்ஸ் வைத்து பார்க்கிறார்கள். சமீபத்தில் வந்த கோ படத்தில் அரசியல்வாதியாக வரும் அஜ்மல் ஜீவாவை ஏமாற்றிவிடுவார். கமலின் சத்யா படத்திலும்கூட அரசியல்வாதி கிட்டி கமலை ஏமாற்றுவார். உடனே சத்யாதாண்டா கோ என்று அடித்துவிட்டார்கள். எந்தப் படமாக இருந்தாலும் தங்களுடைய விமர்சன கோணிப் பையில் அடைத்துவிட வேண்டும். அப்படி ஒரு வெறி.

இந்த கோணிப்பை இப்போது அடுத்தக்கட்டத்தை எட்டியிருக்கிறது. அதாவது காப்பி அடித்து படமெடுக்கலாமா? அப்படி எடுத்தால் அது தவறா? இல்லை, காப்பி அடித்துவிட்டு அது பற்றி சொல்லாமல் கம்மென்றிருந்துவிடுவது தவறா? நந்தலாலா, தெய்வத்திருமகள் விஷயத்தில் இதுதான் நடந்தது. நந்தலாலா கிகுஜிரோவின் காப்*பி, தெய்வத்திருமகள் ஐயம் சாமின் காப்*பி. இதை எடுத்தவர்கள் அதுபற்றி மூச்சே விடவில்லை. இது தேசத்துரோகம் என்று ஒரு கோஷ்டி. இதிலென்ன துரோகம்... உலக சினிமா பார்க்காதவங்க எத்தனை பேர் இருக்காங்க, அவங்களுக்கு இது யூஸ் ஆகுமே என்று இன்னொரு கோஷ்டி. காப்பி தப்பில்லை, ஆனா எந்தப் படத்தோட காப்பிங்கிறதை நேர்மையா சொல்லிடணும் என்ற நேர்மை விளம்பிகள் இன்னொரு பக்கம்.

இந்த கோஷ்டி சண்டையிலிருந்து ஒன்று மட்டும் புரிகிறது. எந்தப் படம் அல்லது எந்தக் காட்சி எந்தப் படத்திலிருந்து சுடப்பட்டது என்பதை அறிய அனைவரும் ஆவலாக இருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த ஆவலை பூர்த்தி செய்யதான் இந்த காப்பி கல்சர். ( உஷ்...ஒருவழியா தலைப்புக்குவிளக்கம் கொடுத்தாச்சி).

முதலில் விஜய் படத்திலிருந்து தொடங்கலாம்.

விஜய்க்கு ஸ்டெடியான மார்க்கெட்டை உருவாக்கித் தந்த முதல் படம் பூவே உனக்காக. இந்தப் படத்தின் முக்கியமான நகைச்சுவை காட்சி மலையாளப் படமொன்றிலிருந்து உருவப்பட்டது. முதலில் மலையாளப் படத்தைப் பார்ப்போம்.

Vicky Donor to be remade in Tamil

Following the surprise success of the recent Bollywood comedy 'Vicky Donor', directed by Shoojit Sircar (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Shoojit-Sircar), we hear that the production team behind this year's quirky rom-com 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi' (KSY) are planning a remake of the film in Tamil and Telugu.

When we contacted Sashikanth, he confirmed that he and Siddharth (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Siddharth) are in talks with the production house behind 'Vicky Donor' but added that the deal is yet to be firmed up. "We watched the film on the day of its release and since the content was something new, which is what we have always wanted to present to our audience, we got in touch with the Bollywood studio. We have asked for the Tamil-Telugu remake rights as we intend to do the movie as a bilingual."

Sashikanth (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Sashikanth) informs that the producers too have reciprocated favourably. "It is actually a two-way thing between us as we are already negotiating with them for the Hindi remake of KSY," he adds hopefully.

The producer says that Siddharth will be playing the lead in the remake versions though the rest of the cast and crew will be finalized once the deal comes through.

Quiz him if the script will be changed to suit the sensitivity of the south audiences given the slightly controversial nature of the film's subject (which deals with sticky issues like sperm donation and infertility), and he says, "Our studio has always been extremely concerned about the kind of content that our films have and we will ensure that the remakes will respect the quirky sensibility of our earlier productions."

Nikita Thukural of Kurumbu fame is likely to don as the sex siren Silk Smitha in the Tamil remake of Dirty Picture.
Vidya Balan's role in the Dirty Picture was much acclaimed and gave her many awards and credits for her performance. With the movie being remade in Tamil the makers were trying to rope in Nayantara who is now making a comeback after her break up with Prabhu Deva.
But, sources reveal that Nayantara quoted a whopping sum for her role in the movie and this has made the producers to step back. The amount seems to be the highest ever for a South Indian actress.
With the deal being unfavourable the makers are now on a hunt for the leading lady in Silk Smitha's role. It is widely believed that Nikita Thukural is being considered for the role. However, let's wait untill things get finalized.

Sunny Leone says no to Prem Adda team (Kannada remake of Sasikumar's Subramaniapuram)

Adult film star Sunny Leone has been in the news ever since she evinced her interest to act in Indian films. Recently, the team behind Prem Adda, the Kannada remake of Sasikumar's Subramaniapuram, claimed that Sunny Leone had given her nod to doing a special number in the flick.
But, Sunny, who's shooting for Jism 2 in Sri Lanka, has denied any such development. "For all the rumors, the only two movies I am signed to shoot this year are Jism 2 and Ragini, nothing else. Don't believe what you read," wrote the actress on her micro-blogging site.
She added that she has "no plans for any item numbers as of yet".
When we contacted Mahesh Babu, the director of Prem Adda, he said, "We had spoken to her coordinator, who assured us that Sunny would give us dates after June 25. Her denial is news for me."

The latest buzz about Aamir Khan is that he will be doing a Hindi remake of a Tamil film. Apparently, the Bollywood superstar will be seen in the Hindi remake of Prakash Raj's hit Tamil film, Abhiyum Naanum.
This critically acclaimed 2008 film was produced by Prakash Raj and starred Trisha and Prakash himself in the lead roles. When we contacted Prakash as to whether Aamir Khan would reprise his role in Hindi, the actor-producer said, "yes" but refused to divulge more. The rumour is also that he would be directing the project in Hindi.
The flick is being produced by Boney Kapoor and his official spokesperson said, "We are producing the film but not with Aamir Khan. We haven't done the casting yet."
Abhiyum Naanum showcases the emotional relationship between a father and daughter and was seen as a milestone in Tamil cinema. The Tamil film, was directed by Radha Mohan who has directed six films for Prakash Raj's banner. We just have to wait and watch if Prakash Raj can recreate the magic in Hindi!

Akshay Kumar has recorded his first solo blockbuster now. What seemed like a successful film in the making is now challenging records at the very top. Rowdy Rathore, which is continuing to be a hurricane at theatres and still attracting audience by dozens, has now found a place in Top-5
Bollywood films of all times, what with Shahrukh Khan as well as Hrithik Roshan being edged out.
"Rowdy Rathore has now comfortably surpassed 120 crores in its third weekend itself, hence leaving behind the likes of Ra.One (115 crore), Agneepath (120 crores) and for that matter even Salman Khan's Ready (121 crores)", confirms a trade source.
However, Salman continues to post a challenge for Akshay since his Dabangg and Bodyguard have covered a much greater distance by amassing over 140 crores each.
"It would be quite difficult to cross that milestone though since in coming weeks, Akshay faces challenge from Shahid Kapoor (Teri Meri Kahaani) and The Amazing Spiderman which arrive back to back", an insider adds, "However Rowdy Rathore would now come close to the 135 crore mark, which is a huge achievement considering the fact that Akshay was facing rough weather during last year. Now with both Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore doing so well and Akshay finding a very strong positioning for him (with Aamir Khan ruling from the top, courtesy 3 Idiots at 202 crores), things have heated up all over again."
The coming weeks would decide how the battle intensifies. Suriya, the handsome and the most happening actor in the south has reportedly expressed his interest to play the lead in the remake of yesteryear's film Sakalakala Vallan, donned by Kamal Hassan.

Kollywood is buzzing with the news that Suriya has expressed his desire to remake Sakalakala Vallavan. And the producers have approached AVM Productions for the remake rights of the movie Sakalakala Vallavan, who have produced the film earlier in 1982. But AVM Productions refused to sell the remake rights and instead they have offered to remake it with Suriya.
Makers will soon come out with an official announcement about the cast and crew details and if everything goes fine, Suriya will be seen playing a dual role. Director SP Muthuraman has wielded the megaphone for the original Sakalakala Vallavan that has many chartbusters composed by maestro Ilayaraja.

A few weeks ago, CT broke the story that producer Prasad V Potluri, who had acquired the Tamil remake rights of S S Rajamouli's Telugu hit Maryada Ramanna (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Maryada-Ramanna), had roped in director Kannan (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Kannan) to helm the film in Kollywood (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Kollywood). And now, sources in the know tell us that the makers are in talks with both Santhanam (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Santhanam) and Sivakarthikeyan (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Sivakarthikeyan) for the lead.

A source says, "The film is a comedy thriller, and ace comedian Sunil (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Sunil) had played the lead in the original in Telugu. The Tamil makers felt that someone with perfect comic timing can pull off the role perfectly. They are in talks with both Santhanam and Sivakarthikeyan regarding the dates and remuneration. Santhanam may finally bag the project."

Interestingly, this is not the first time either of them will be playing the lead.

Maryada Ramanna is about two warring families and how the last heir of one of the families ends up in the other's house by chance. The film has been remade earlier in Kannada as Maryade Ramanna and in Bengali as Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re. With as many as 10 remakes in the offing and some already being made, south Indian movies will again provide fodder for Bollywood filmmakers this year. 'Okkadu' and 'Kandireega' are the most recently announced southern remakes in Bollywood. In the last two years, six southern remakes - 'Bodyguard', 'Ready', 'Singham', 'Housefull 2', 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Son of Sardaar' - have raked in over Rs.600 crore at the box-office, fuelling the trend.

IANS lists some upcoming southern remakes in Bollywood:

Thuppakki: The yet-to-be-titled Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. A.R. Murugadoss, who directed the original, is helming the remake as well. The film went on floors recently.
Policegiri: Starring Sanjay Dutt and Prachi Desai, Policegiri is the Hindi remake of Tamil film Saamy. Tamil director K.S. Ravi Kumar has wielded the megaphone for the remake, which also features Prakash Raj.

Rangrezz:
Priyadarshan's Rangrezz is a Hindi remake of Tamil hit film Nadodigal, which has already been remade in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Jackky Bhagnani and Priya Anand feature in the cast.

Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya:
It is the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana starring debutant Girish Kumar and Shruti Haasan. Prabhudeva, who directed the original, is directing the Hindi version as well.

Filmy Picture: This spoof featuring Riteish Deshmukh is the Hindi remake of Tamil comedy Tamizh Padam, which was recently remade in Telugu as Sudigadu. The team is yet to finalise the leading lady.

Kick: After starring in remakes such as Wanted, Bodyguard and Ready, Salman Khan will be seen in Kick, the Hindi remake of a Telugu film of the same name. Sajid Nadiadwala will direct the film, which will also feature Deepika Padukone.

Shortcut Romeo: It is the Hindi remake of Tamil film Thiruttu Payale. Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta feature in the film, which is being directed by Susi Ganeshan, who made the original.

Ramana: After Rowdy Rathore, Akshay Kumar will play the lead in yet-to-be-titled Hindi remake of Tamil film Ramana. The director for the remake is yet to be announced. A.R. Murugadoss helmed the original in Tamil.

Pizza: The Hindi remake rights of Tamil film Pizza were bought by Bejoy Nambiar recently. The cast and crew of the film are yet to be announced. The untitled film will be produced by Bejoy under his home banner Getaway Films.

Susi Ganesh, the director of Shortcut Romeo was honoured by Martin O'Malley, Governor of State of Maryland with a citation for his contribution to Indian cinema. Susi Ganesh and his team were in New York to promote Shortcut Romeo after screening the movie and walking the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival along with actress Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta.

Susi Ganeshan has directed some award winning movies in Tamil such as Virumbukiren, Five Star, Thiruttu Payale and Kanthaswamy. Recalling his 15 years of service and hard work to promote Indian movies especially Tamil and now Hindi, the Governor said, "The State of Maryland is proud to bestow the honour for his contribution to the entertainment industry."

that 187c is just ulundu vadai. even the biggest bolly hits barely go near 200C.
