Kamal Haasan was recently seen at the inauguration of the 19th Kolkata International Film festival where he was noticed interacting with the press. Kamal in the interactive session mentioned that film festivals were his temples of learning.

When the actor was asked if he attended the film festival in Kolkata because the West Bengal government did not ban the release of the magnum opus Vishwaroopam, Kamal replied saying that he is not a political animal.

He said that the state supported him because they felt he was right. Kamal also stated that he had received similar support from the state when there were glitches during the release of Hey Ram.

All nations and individuals suffer the dilemma of choosing between the virtues of valour and that of tolerance. The 21st century world citizen is even more compelled to choose one or the other by peer pressure. My experiment in practical living has educated me to guess that a judicious blend of both is most is the most pragmatic course.

Till civic duties are fully understood and inculcated in us by truly enlightened parenting, righteous wrath and valour will be the most joy producing path. A lifetime of tolerance, if not equally reciprocated by our cohabitants, is a life wasted in compromise of sometimes serfdom.

The modern Indian’s dilemma, even today, is to combat the nation’s emergencies through tolerance or a slightly faster yet violent route of valour. The height of valour is Ahimsa, opines Gandhiji. How many can scale that height? I wonder.

"................What I am saying is, you tell them that you will not sell alcohol to people below a particular age… like that there should be adult entertainment. We must treat adults like adults.

I am not talking only about sex. I am talking about politics. There should be political freedom. The kind of freedom that was available in Periyar’s time is not there for Kamal Hassan. Even if you are bold, you don’t have freedom. Even Veeramani [leader of the Dravidar Kazhagam, founded by Periyar] does not have it.

We have made the borders tighter and tighter and tighter. Because we think everybody has a voice and everyone can raise it for any reason. We are almost gagged. The undercurrent of my film Thenali is about the sufferings of ethnic Tamils in Sri Lanka.

I took it in a subtle manner. Madras Cafe showcased one side of the story. Even if I wish to take a film on the other side of the ethnic issue, I will not be permitted to do so. For that matter, no film on the Sri Lankan issue could be contemplated.

Here there is no freedom of expression. I, as a film artist, have no freedom, which writers such as Jayakanthan and Periyar enjoyed many years ago........"

7-11-2013 அன்று கமல்ஹாஸனுக்குப் பிறந்தநாள். அவர் புதியதாகக் கிழக்குக் கடற்கரைச்சாலையில் குடியேறியிருக்கும் இல்லத்தில் சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளர்களான நண்பர்களுக்காக ஒரு சந்திப்பு நிகழ்ந்தது.நான் சென்னையில் இருந்தேன் என்றாலும் ஒரு தயக்கம். எனக்கு பார்ட்டிகளில் ஈடுபாடில்லை. முக்கியமான காரணம் அவற்றில் எப்படி நடந்துகொள்வது என்று நாட்டுப்புறத்தானாகிய நான் இன்னமும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை என்பதுதான். ஆனால் நண்பர் தனா என்னுடன் அவரும் வருவதாகச் சொல்லி உற்சாகமாகக் கிளம்பியதனால் செல்லலாமென முடிவெடுத்தேன்.

மெட்ராஸ் டாக்கீஸ் அலுவலகக் காரில் இரவு ஒன்பது மணிக்கு கமல் வீட்டுக்குச் சென்றேன். வாசலில் அவரே நின்று அனைவரையும் வரவேற்றுக்கொண்டிருந்தார். கட்டித்தழுவி வரவேற்றார். நான் நினைத்த அளவுக்குப் பெரிய கூட்டம் இல்லை என்றாலும் எங்குபார்த்தாலும் பிரபலங்கள் என்பது ஒரு திகைப்பை உருவாக்கியது.

தமிழ்த்திரையுலகில் எனக்கு முதலில் அறிமுகமான நண்பர் கமல்.2000 வாக்கில் விஷ்ணுபுரம் வாசித்துவிட்டு ஒருநாள் என்னைத் தொலைபேசியில் அழைத்து ‘நான் கமலஹாசன் பேசறேன்’ என்று அறிமுகம்செய்துகொண்டார் ‘உங்க தீவிர வாசகன்…’
எனக்கு அப்போது யாரோ மிமிக்ரிசெய்கிறார்கள் என்ற எண்ணம்தான் இருந்தது. என்ன பேசுவதென்றும் தெரியவில்லை. அவரே அந்நாவலில் வாசித்த பல நுட்பமான இடங்களை விவரித்துப்பேசினார்.

அதன்பின் இத்தனை நாட்களில் என்னுடைய அத்தனை படைப்புகளுக்கும் உடனடி வாசகராக அவரே இருந்திருக்கிறார். கொற்றவை அவரை பெரிதும் கவர்ந்தது. தொடர்ச்சியாகப் பலமுறை கூப்பிட்டு அதைப்பற்றி பேசினார். அதன்பின் இன்றையகாந்தி. கடைசியாக அறம். அவரைக் கவராத படைப்பைப்பற்றி அவர் பெரும்பாலும் வாயைத்திறப்பதில்லை.

அவர் நட்சத்திரம் என்பதனாலேயே நான் அவரைப்பற்றி இன்றுவரை ஒரு வரிகூட எழுதியதில்லை. அவரை நேரில் சந்திப்பதையே கூடுமானவரை தள்ளிப்போட்டு வந்தேன். நேரில் சந்தித்த தருணங்கள் எல்லாமே உற்சாகமானவை. அவர் பேச்சினூடாகவே எனக்குப் பல எழுத்தாளர் பெயர்கள் – உதாரணமாக கர்ட் வேன்கட் -அறிமுகமாயின என்று சொன்னால் அவரைத்தெரிந்தவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட மாட்டார்கள்.

விருந்தில் மதனைப் பார்த்தேன். சற்று உடல்நலம் குன்றியிருந்தவர் சிகிழ்ச்சைக்குப்பின் தேறி நன்றாகவே இருந்தார். செய்தியறிக்கைகள் காலப்போக்கில் இலக்கியமதிப்பு பெறுவதைப்பற்றி உற்சாகமாகப்பேசினார்.

எங்கும் தெரிந்த முகங்கள். ஹிந்து என்.ராம் முதலிய பல செய்தி ஊடக நட்சத்திரங்கள். பிரியதர்சன் முதலிய இயக்குநர்கள். விஜய் முதலிய நடிகர்கள். ஆண்ட்ரியா போன்ற நடிகைகள். அனைவரும் ஏதோ ஒருவகையில் கமலின் நெருக்கமான உள்வட்டத்தினர் என்று தெரிந்தது.

என்னை அறிந்தவர்களிடம் மட்டும் பேசியபடி சுற்றிவந்தேன். கிரேஸி மோகனைச் சந்தித்தேன். ஏற்கனவே இன்றைய காந்தி வாசித்துவிட்டு என்னிடம் தொலைபேசியில் பேசியிருக்கிறார். கு.ஞானசம்பந்தத்தைச் சந்தித்தேன். அப்பால் முக்கியஸ்தர்கள் நடுவே உற்சாகத்தழுவல்கள், அன்புக்கூச்சல்கள், புகைப்பட மின்னல்கள்….

கமல் நடுவே என்னிடம் வந்து நின்று தீவிரமாக உரையாட ஆரம்பித்தார். ஏற்கனவே பேசி நிறுத்திய புள்ளியில் இருந்து பேச ஆரம்பிப்பது அவரது வழக்கம். இலக்கியமும் வரலாறும் சந்திக்கும் இடங்கள் அவருக்கு பிடித்தமானவை. இலக்கியத்திற்கு ஒரு வரலாற்றுக்காரணத்தைச் சொல்வதில் எப்போதுமெ ஒரு நுட்பமான பார்வை அவருக்குண்டு.

வெள்ளையானை கிடைத்தது என்றார். நான் கொண்டு வர மறந்து விட்டிருந்தேன். ‘அதெல்லாம் மை காயறதுக்குள்ள இங்க வந்திரும்’ என்றார். ஐஸ்ஹவுஸின் போராட்டம் பற்றி ஏற்கனவே அவர் வாசித்து அறிந்தவற்றைச் சொல்ல ஆரம்பித்தார். ‘எங்க ஏரியால்ல?’

நெடுநேரம் என்னிடம் மட்டுமே பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்று தோன்றியது. அதிமுக்கியமனிதர்கள் பின்பக்கம் அவருக்காகக் காத்திருந்தனர். அவரது உற்சாகத்தில் விரிசலை உண்டுபண்ணவும் முடியவில்லை. ஒரு தம்பதிகளைச் சந்திக்க அவர் திரும்பியபோது நான் மெல்ல நகர்ந்துவிட்டேன்.

இரா.முருகன் வந்தார். ‘எழுத்துருச் சண்டை போடுங்க போங்க’ என்று கமல் தன்னை அனுப்பியதாகச் சொன்னார். அவரது நாடக அரங்கேற்றம் பற்றியும் அரசூர் நாவல் வரிசையில் மூன்றாவது நாவல் வரப்போவது பற்றியும் பேசிக்கொண்டோம்.

சாப்பாட்டில் என்னென்னவோ இருந்தது. நான் காய்கறிகள், பழங்கள் மட்டுமே சாப்பிடக்கூடியவன். சூப்பில் போடவேண்டிய பச்சைக்காய்கறித்துருவல்கள் மட்டுமே இருந்தன. அவற்றை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன். சாப்ப்பிட்டபின் உள்ளே சென்று வந்திருந்தவர்களின் குடும்பத்துக் குழந்தைகளுடன் கமல் பாடி ஆடி குதூகலித்ததைப் பார்த்தேன். பன்னிரண்டு மணிக்குக் கிளம்பிவிட்டேன்.

அத்தனை வெளிச்சத்திற்குள்ளூம் அவர் வாசிப்பதற்கும் விவாதிப்பதற்கும் இடத்தைக் கண்டுகொள்வது ஆச்சரியம்தான். சென்னையின் உச்சநிலைமனிதர்கள் சூழ்ந்த அந்த இடத்தில் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது ஒரு சக எழுத்தாளரிடம் தெருமுனை டீக்கடையில் நின்று பேசிக்கொள்ளும் உணர்வே இருந்தது.

Unfortunately most people from our industry think they know everything and have nothing more to learn, says Kamal Haasan

The cinema theatre is the most secular place to congregate in. When darkness envelops us it’s the way we react to the emotions played out that unite us and not personal prejudices. ‘Vishwaroopam’ proved that no amount of drama played outside can influence the reactions inside.

To talk about Kamal Haasan’s seemingly inexhaustible repertoire as an actor or his incomparable achievements would be resorting to rhetoric. At the recently held FICCI conclave he flits in and out of rooms, listening attentively to deliberations when not partaking in them. The few free moments are spent reminiscing about the golden period of Kannada cinema with old friends. Catching his eye is difficult, leave alone thinking of a chat.

You’re serious when it comes to the betterment of cinema. What attracted you to FICCI?

I usually associate with something only for the betterment of my production company but this was entirely different. One of the most attractive things was that it was the brainchild of my real life idol, Mahathma Gandhi. It was formed before Independence and has done yeoman service to trade and commerce. It’s the one hundredth year of Indian cinema and FICCI itself is nearly 90-years-old. I always wanted to bring it down South and going by the response and the support of the powers that be, we’re thinking of making Bangalore the permanent venue.

I’ve been here since yesterday and notice that the participation from the industry is minimal.

(Hesitates) Now I don’t want to sound offensive or rude but most people, unfortunately from our industry think they know everything and have nothing to learn. Even if they do come they want to be the cynosure. They should be the first to come, pay and register. Conducting this costs a hell of a lot of money. We’re not here to dispense free ice cream or coffee. Of course, they can turn around and ask how much I’ve put in. Well, I’ve invested my time. I’m a child of cinema and have a lot to learn. We started FICCI Frames in Mumbai and the industry took it upon them not only to participate but also find sponsors.

What do you expect people to take away from here?

Well, we can only provide them the bathtub. They have to find their ‘eureka’ moment. This is a platform, a place to congregate, exchange ideas not only creatively but commercially too. You can update yourself technologically, be it sound or digital photography. You can learn.

You’ve never resisted but always embraced technology. You didn’t even treat TV as an adversary. Was Hollywood a pointer?

Could be. Technology is an aid not an adversary. There’s always resistance to it. When I wanted to shoot with digital camera studios rushed forward and even offered to finance my films if I refrained. It took some time for me to do things of my own free will. Cinema will not be called films for long. It will be referred to as moving images.

‘Vishwaroopam’ made money but left you emotionally scarred.

I was hurt, there’s no doubt but if you remember there were no tears. It was not planned as a sensational news clip or to go viral on Youtube.

The film was released in Bangalore and was running to packed houses peacefully in predominantly Muslim localities.

You see that’s the point. My Muslim brethren were more instigated than affected. We’re brothers separated by Partition. I was one of the first to visibly voice my opposition to the bringing down of the Babri Masjid. My character itself in the film is like a snake in the grass. I have no religion. It was just a successful operation to scuttle my DTH initiative. I was trying to earn legitimately instead of letting pirates make money off my hard work.

You’re not religious but the theatre is your temple.

That’s right. DTH will happen and everything will co-exist. Every house has a kitchen but people do go to restaurants. The same goes for temples too. DTH is the future. Technology is taking giant leaps. The world is shrinking. You’ll be downloading and watching films on your mobile phone, while on the move. Do you remember the size of the recorder you brought when you first interviewed me?

You planned ‘Vishwaroopam’ in two parts.

That’s what impressed Barrie Osborne. He shot three parts of ‘Lord of the Rings’ and released them one after the other. That’s the confidence he had in his product. Even as I was writing ‘Vishwaroopam’ I knew it had to be made in two parts. I know there were rumours that I’d overshot and that’s the reason I decided on a sequel but nothing can be farther than the truth.

In the context of what you underwent were you forced to tone down anything in the sequel?

I did not tone up or tone down anything simply because there was nothing offensive or derogatory in the first part.

I was watching ‘Dashavatharam’ recently and realised the leap technologically in ‘Vishwaroopam’. Has technology taken a sudden leap?

Not really. ‘Dashavatharam’ was not bad but could have been much better. When I’m producing there’s nobody breathing down my neck. I don’t have to peer back every time I need something. The technology was available but there were various constraints and one was time. Here I can convert my dreams into reality at my own pace.

Two of your old hits have recently been digitally re-mastered. There’s a small treasure of Kamal classics like Raja Parvai, Kokila and Thevar Magan that have not been watched by many and are not available even on DVD.

Actually we are bringing out ‘Apoorva Sahodarargal’, ‘Thevar Magan’ and ‘Vishwaroopam’ first because they are my productions. ‘Vishwaroopam’ will also have extras like how we did the VFX.

Whenever Kamal finishes a technically difficult film and collaborates with ‘Crazy’ Mohan people feel it’s a paid holiday for him.

Well, believe me that’s not true. Comedy is serious business and very hard work. Actually my next film has a feel good factor with the right doses of fun.

I'm not sure if you mean Hey Ram script was not released in Tamil first. But I know that it was released in Tamil and I used to have a copy as well.

Little do people know that Rajinikanth, who is referred to as Thalaiva, attributes all his filmi success to Rama Shama Bhama actor Kamal Haasan. Rajini, who recently said Kamal Haasan attained the status of a legend very early in life, also mentioned that he entered the industry looking up to the actor.

Rajinikanth, who is known to be humble despite his super stardom, also mentioned that he would not stir from his place when Kamal was acting. If he was on the sets of Kamal's film, he would sit patiently through the entire shot just to see Kamal act. Rajini also revealed a secret about their friendship. He said it was Kamal who adviced him that they should be friends irrespective of what the fraternity of their fans say. While many legends, who enter the industry as good friends, fall out after they attain success, Rajini and Kamal have probably stayed strong because of Kamal's advice.

Kamal Haasan seems to share a special bond too with Rajinikanth. Both of them are probably the only actors in the country who are very close friends despite their fame. Rajinikanth concluded by saying that they never tried to ruin the other's career, but respected each other's work.

டிரிபிள் எஸ் எண்டர்டெயின்மெண்ட்ஸ் நிறுவனம் சார்பில் ஜே.ஏ.லாரன்ஸ் தயாரிக்கும் புதிய படம் ‘நான்தான் பாலா’. இந்த படத்தில் நாயகனாக புதிய பரிமாணத்தில் காமெடி நடிகர் விவேக் நடிக்கிறார். ‘தேசிய விருது’ இயக்குனர் பாலாவிடம் உதவி இயக்குனராக பணியாற்றிய கண்ணன் இயக்கியுள்ளார். வெங்கட் க்ரிஷி என்பவர் இசையமைக்கிறார். மணவாளன் ஒளிப்பதிவை கவனிக்கிறார்.

இப்படம் குறித்து நடிகர் விவேக் கூறும்போது,

‘நான்தான் பாலா’ படத்தில் முக்கியமான கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்திருக்கிறேன். இது அவார்டுக்காக எடுக்கப்பட்ட படம் கிடையாது. கமர்ஷியல் படம். இந்த படத்தில் சண்டைக்காட்சிகளும் உள்ளன. அவை, வழக்கமான சண்டைக்காட்சிகள் போல் இல்லாமல் வித்தியாசமாக படமாக்கியிருக்கிறார் ஸ்டண்ட் மாஸ்டர் சூப்பர் சுப்பராயன். பாடல்களை நா.முத்துக்குமார், இளையகம்பன் ஆகியோர் எழுதியுள்ளனர். இதற்கெல்லாம் சிகரம் வைத்தாற்போல் கவிஞர் வாலியிடம் கேட்டு ஒரு பாட்டை வாங்கியிருக்கிறோம். அவர் இதுவரை எழுதிக்கொடுத்த பாடல்களில் இதுதான் கடைசிப் பாடல் என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்ளும் வகையில் இந்த பாடல் அமைந்துள்ளது.

இந்த கதையை பலமாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு நான் கேட்டபோது இந்த கதையை நான் பண்ணலாமா? வேண்டாமா? என்ற அச்சம் என்னுள் எழுந்தது. காரணம் என்னவென்றால் இது ஒரு சீரியஸ் கதை. 25 வருடமாக மக்களிடம் காமெடியனாக போய் சேர்ந்திருக்கிறோம். திடீர்னு அதிலிருந்து மாறி ஒரு சீரியஸ் கேரக்டர் பண்ணும்போது ரசிகப் பெருமக்கள் ஒத்துக் கொள்வார்களா? என்ற தயக்கம் இருந்தது.

இப்படி என் மனம் சஞ்சலப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்த நேரத்தில் உலகநாயகன் கமல் ஒரு நிகழ்ச்சியில் என்னை சந்தித்து 25 வருடம் காமெடி பண்ணிட்டீங்க. நல்ல கதாபாத்திரத்தை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து நடிக்க இதுதான் சரியான நேரம். அது உங்களுடைய இன்னொரு பரிணாமத்தை வெளியே எடுத்து வரும் என்று சொன்னார். அதன்பிறகுதான் இந்த கதையை உறுதியாக செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தேன்.

ஆனால், படம் முடிந்து இப்போது பார்க்கும்போது, என்னுடைய திரை வாழ்க்கையில் இந்த படம் ஒரு மைல்கல்லாக இருக்கும் என்று உணர்கிறேன். நகைச்சுவை நடிகர்களுக்கு கிடைக்கக்கூடிய கௌரவமாக இந்த படம் இருக்கும். இந்திய நகைச்சுவை நடிகர்களுக்கு கிரீடத்தில் ஏற்றிவைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு மகுடம் என்றே இந்த படத்தைச் சொல்லலாம். எல்லா காமெடியன்களும் இந்த படத்தை பார்த்து பெருமைப்படுவார்கள். அப்படி ஒரு விஷயத்தை இந்த படத்தில் செய்திருக்கிறேன்.

இதற்கு பெரிய அளவில் நன்றி சொல்ல வேண்டியது உலகநாயகன் கமலுக்குத்தான். இந்த படம் ரொம்ப வித்தியாசமாக வந்திருக்கிறது. இது தமிழ்நாட்டு ரசிகர்களின் இதயத்தையும் தட்டும், டெல்லி விருது கதவுகளையும் தட்டும். அதுபோன்ற வித்தியாசமான படமாக வந்திருக்கிறது.

இந்த படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா கூடிய விரைவில் நடைபெறவிருக்கிறது. இந்த வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் ஒருவர் கொடுக்கவேண்டும், மற்றொருவர் வாங்கவேண்டும் என்பது சம்பிரதாயம். அதில் ஒருவர் உலகநாயகன் கமல். மற்றொருவர் யார் என்பதை இப்போதைக்கு சஸ்பென்ஸாக வைக்கிறேன் என்று கூறி முடித்தார்.

There is no doubt that Kannathil Muthamittaal, Guru and AlaipayuthE are good films. but comparatively Nayagan is better IMO.

Maybe Kamal has gone much further than during his nayagan days but I feel another Nayagan feel movie will be overwhelmingly welcome by a lot of his fans and others. I recently watced Iruvar and it forced to change my positive views on it. But Nayakan on every visit is highly engrossing one. We love Nayakan more and more because of one finest actor's performance. Plot, Screen play, Dialogues, Direction, Back ground music, Cinematography, Editing, Set - everything came out very well towards a common plane. That's the beauty of the epic.

11–வது சர்வதேச படவிழா, சென்னையில் தொடங்கியது. இதன் தொடக்க விழா, சென்னை ஆரிங்டன் ரோட்டில் உள்ள லேடி ஆண்டாள் பள்ளியில் இன்று இரவு நடந்தது. விழாவை நடிகர்கள் கமல்ஹாசன், அமீர்கான் ஆகிய இருவரும் குத்து விளக்கேற்றி தொடங்கி வைத்தார்கள்.


விழாவையொட்டி நடிகைகள் ஷோபனா, சுவர்ணமால்யா ஆகிய இருவரின் நாட்டிய நிகழ்ச்சிகளும், பின்னணி பாடகர் கார்த்திக்கின் இசைநிகழ்ச்சியும் நடைபெற்றன.


விழாவின் ஒரு நிகழ்ச்சியாக கமல்ஹாசனிடம் நடிகர்கள் சூர்யா, பார்த்திபன், டைரக்டர் பாலுமகேந்திரா, இசையமைப்பாளர் இளையராஜா, பின்னணி பாடகர் எஸ்.பி.பாலசுப்பிரமணியம் ஆகியோர் சில கேள்விகளை கேட்டு இருந்தார்கள். அந்த கேள்விகளை நடிகை சுஹாசினி மேடையில் படிக்க, அவற்றுக்கு கமல்ஹாசன் பதில் அளித்தார்.


சுஹாசினி படித்த கேள்விகளும், கமல்ஹாசன் அளித்த பதில்களும் வருமாறு:–

கேள்வி:– வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபொம்மன், கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன், கர்ணன் ஆகிய படங்களை ‘ரீமேக்’ செய்வதாக இருந்தால், எந்த படத்தில் நடிக்க விரும்புவீர்கள்?

பதில்:– என்ன வேடம் என்று கேட்கவில்லையே...

கேள்வி:– ஜாக்சன்துரை?

பதில்:– ஜாக்சன்துரையாக நடிக்கலாம். ஏனென்றால், ‘தசாவதாரம்’ படத்தில் ஏற்கனவே ‘ஸ்லெட்சர்’ ஆக நடித்து இருக்கிறேன். ‘கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன்’ படத்தில், சுப்பிரமணிய சிவாவாக நடிக்க ஆசை. ஏனென்றால் அந்த வேடத்தில் எங்க சண்முகம் அண்ணாச்சி நடித்து இருந்தார்.



கேள்வி:– இந்திய சினிமா நூற்றாண்டின் பரிசாக ரஜினிகாந்தும், நீங்களும் இணைந்து நடிப்பீர்களா?

பதில்:– உங்களுக்கு பரிசு...எங்களுக்கு? இரண்டு பேரையும் வைத்து படம் எடுக்கிற அளவுக்கு வசதியான தயாரிப்பாளர் கிடைக்க வேண்டும். நான் இலவசமாக நடிக்க தயார். ஆனால் ரஜினி எப்படி என்று தெரியவில்லை.


கேள்வி:– கிருஷ்–3, விஸ்வரூபம்–2 மாதிரி சச்சின்–2, கமல்ஹாசன்–2 வர முடியுமா?

பதில்:– அடுத்த தலைமுறை நிச்சயமாக வரும். எங்களை விட திறமையானவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக வருவார்கள்.

கேள்வி:– தணிக்கை குழுவில் தகுதியானவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்களா?

பதில்:– தணிக்கை குழுவில் சினிமாவை ரசிப்பவர்களும் இருக்கிறார்கள். அரசியல் கட்சிகளை சேர்ந்தவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆட்கள் அங்கே இருக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் ஆசைப்படுகிறார்கள். முழுமையாக சினிமாவை தெரிந்தவர்கள் இருந்தால், தணிக்கை குழு இன்னும் நன்றாக இருக்கும்.’’

சென்னையில் திருவையாறு சங்கீத. நாட்டிய இசை விழாவின் தொடக்க விழா 18.12.2013 அன்று நடந்தது. கமல்ஹாசன் குத்துவிளக்கேற்றி விழாவை துவக்கி வைத்தார். விழா அமைப்பாளர்களான லஷ்மன் ஸ்ருதியினர் கமலுக்கு பத்து சவரன் தங்க சங்கிலி பரிசாக வழங்கினர்.

Vikram is (also) one of my favorite movies. I had expressed few months back that I wish to see its remake minus Amjad Khan empire episodes. Minus in the sense a little more attractive & interesting. And a more menacing Villan (found Satyaraj trying to do comedy seriously - worked in Kakki Sattai, in Vikram it looked odd). Vikram early parts of the movie would be mind blowing - the lock opening scene & the suspense investigations (thanks to Sujatha), the 2 heroines and of coarse Kamal, IR and Janakaraj. James-Bond-like missile theft plot, stunt sequences, JB type intro song (which was tried in Asal), Vanithamani sniper killer and the climax gun fight & aircraft sequence which is almost similar to Billa 2 - but the astonishing fact is that it was made 3 decades back.

The sequel may have some problem. Even though Kamal can rejuvenate himself thru movies, the concept of the film will certainly lead to a output similar to Indiana Jones V. I don't know how many of you have seen Chiranjeevi's Anji. Quite an extraordinary film for an adventure fiction, even though inspired from, well we leave it there. The whole problem with this film was its placement of the theatrical release. A Vikram2 from nowhere will land up as Anji post Vishwaroopam series. Plus, the sequel will make one wonder what's it all about as the current viewers don't know Vikram movie or its potential.

Do a remake and then shoot the sequel (if necessary). But one important thing is the Heroines - have faith in VP for his lead lady selections, but just insisting more (please NO Andrea). Imagining "Meendum Meendum Vaa" with VP touch. And of coarse don't tamper with the songs, no remix, remaster it if needed. Sounds created/generated by IR are eternal and can be a club music for Mars citizens even in the year 2222.

No Tamil film has been selected for screening at the Bengaluru Film Festival which kick started recently, say sources. When enquired about this, we came to know that a jury was appointed to select the movies for screening and every movie that has made it to this event were based on their assent.
Interestingly, Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan inaugurated the BIFF and this has created a controversy as some opine he shouldn’t have been part of the event that boycotted Tamil cinema.

The actual honest question you need to ask and answer is "how many tamil movies were played?!"..

உனது பாடலுக்கு நடனம் ஆடியிருக்கிறேன். உன்னைப் போல் பேசி பழகியிருக்கிறேன். உன்னை இயக்குநராய் தான் சந்திப்பேன் என்று சபதமெடுத்து, அச்சமுண்டுவின் முதல் அழைப்பிதழை உன்னிடம் தான் கொடுத்தேன். நீ நம்பாத ஆண்டவனின் அனுக்கிரகத்தால்...நாம் நம்பும் சினிமாவைப் பற்றி உன்னிடம் நிறைய பேசியிருக்கிறேன். கட்டை விரல் கேட்காத துரோணரே , எனக்குள் கலை வளர்த்த அய்யா கமல்ஹாசனே ...சொகுசான வேலையை விட்டு, ஏன் திரைத்துறைக்கு வந்தாய் என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பிய சிலருக்கு, 2014ல் உனது பாராட்டு வார்த்தைகள் தான் பதிலாய் அமைய வேண்டும் என்று. எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது போலும். நண்பர்களே....அப்துல் கலாம் உலகத்துக்கு சொன்னார், நான் எனக்குள் சொல்லிக் கொண்டே இருந்தேன். ஆம், ஒரு சீர்காழி இளைஞனின் கனவு தான் எனது பயணம் - அச்சமுண்டுவில் அமெரிக்க வாழ் மாலினி பேசுவதாய் ஒரு வசனம் வரும் "இந்த லிவ்விங் ரூம் சைஸ் தான், நான் வளர்ந்த வீடே!" - அது வசனம் இல்லை, எனது பால்யம்! கனவுகள் தான் வாழ்க்கையின் நம்பிக்கை உண்டியல். எனது கனவுகளுக்கு உறுதுணையாய் இருக்கும் எனது மனைவிக்கும், குழந்தைகளுக்கும் முதல் நன்றிகள். என் மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்து, தட்டிக் கொடுத்த ஒவ்வொரு இதயத்திற்கும் வந்தனங்கள். 'தெய்வம் மனுஷ்ய ரூப' என்று சொல்வார்கள். விருதுகள் கமல்ஹாசனின் வார்த்தைகள் ரூபமாக எங்களை வந்தடைந்திருக்கிறது. க.ச.சாவின் இயக்குனர் பிரசன்னாவில் ஆரம்பித்து, படப்பிடிப்பின் போது எங்களுக்கு அன்பாய் தேனீர் பரிமாறியவர் வரை, இந்த கௌரவம் சமபங்காய் பகிர்ந்து மகிழப்படுகிறது.

இந்தவாரம் (8-ஜனவரி-2014) ஆனந்த விகடனில் கமல்ஹாசனுடன் நடித்த அனுபவங்கள் பற்றிய கேள்விக்கு சத்யராஜின் பதில் :

என் சினிமா வாழ்க்கையின் ஒவ்வொரு முக்கியமான காலகட்டமும் கமல் சார் முன்னாலதான் நடந்திருக்கு. அவர்கூட என் முதல் படமான 'சட்டம் என் கையில்’ ஷூட்டிங் ஏ.வி.எம்-ல நடக்குது. ஒரு சண்டைக் காட்சியில பல்டி அடிக்கும்போது, கைல கட்டியிருந்த 650 ரூபாய் மதிப்புள்ள வாட்ச் உடைஞ்சிடுச்சு. அப்ப 650 ரூபாய் பெரிய தொகை. அந்தப் படத்துல நடிக்கிறதுக்கு எனக்கு சம்பளமே 500 ரூபாய்தான். முதல் படத்துலயே 150 ரூபாய் நஷ்டம். இதை கமல் சார்கிட்ட சொன்னேன். 'சத்யராஜ்... சினிமாவுல ரொம்ப கேர்ஃபுல்லா இருக்கணும். ஜட்டியைத் தவிர நாம எதுவும் சொந்தமா யூஸ் பண்ணக் கூடாது’னு டிப்ஸ் கொடுக்கிற மாதிரி கலாய்ச்சார். எனக்கு பெரிய திருப்புமுனை கொடுத்த 'காக்கிச்சட்டை’ பட 'தகிடு தகிடு’ வசனத்தின் முதல் ரசிகர் கமல் சார்தான். அந்தக் காட்சியின் படப்பிடிப்பு, ராத்திரி 12 மணிக்கு நடந்தது. ஸ்க்ரிப்ட்ல இல்லாம நடிக்கும்போது 'தகிடு தகிடு’னு நான் சொன்ன வசனம் தூரத்துல நின்னவங்களுக்குக் கேக்கலை. ஆனா, பக்கத்துல நின்ன கமல் சார் கேட்டுட்டு பெருசா சத்தம்போட்டுச் சிரிச்சிட்டார். 'இது சிரிக்கிற சீனே கிடையாதே’னு டைரக்டருக்கு அதிர்ச்சி. 'சத்யராஜ் சொன்ன மாடுலேஷனைக் கேட்டுச் சிரிச்சிட்டேன். இன்னொரு தடவை சொல்லிக்காட்டுங்க’னு கமல் சார் சொல்ல, நான் சொல்ல, யூனிட்டே சிரிச்சது. நான் லொள்ளு, ஜொள்ளா நடிச்சிட்டு இருந்தப்ப, என்னை வேற கலர்ல காமிச்ச 'கடமை கண்ணியம் கட்டுப்பாடு’ படத்தைத் தயாரித்தார் கமல் சார். அதோட 150-வது நாள் விழாவில் சிவாஜி சார் தலைமையில் ஆர்.சி.சக்தி, மணிவண்ணன்ரெண்டு பேரையும் கௌரவிச்சார். Kamal Haasan's next to feature a popular mass director

Uthama Villain, Kamal Haasan's next movie after the release of Vishwaroopam 2, apparently has a terrific script. Ramesh Aravind, a good friend of Kamal directs this movie, produced by Thirrupathi Brothers.

VFX supervisor Madhusudhanan who has worked with Kamal on both the parts of Vishwaroopam has been roped in for this movie too. He has updated in his social media space that the movie has an awesome script and also thanked Kamal for yet another opportunity.

We also hear that the producer of Uthama Villain, director Lingusamy, would be playing a role in this film. Lingusamy had recently made a splash in the media with his new chic makeover replete with blazers, shades and spiked hair. He is currently directing a film with Suriya and Samantha in the lead and there are rumors that he would be playing a role in this film as well.

Looks like the prolific director wishes to make a mark as an actor next.
