To READ Tamil Posts, you have to follow these simple steps:

Step 1) Load 'e-kalaplai' (you will be installing the font 'TSC Avarangal' and a transliteration tool).

Step 2) Configure your Internet explorer.

Ready?

Step 1: click on this hyperlink. DO NOT restart the system once the installation is finished. (I will tell the reason later.)

http://www.tamil.net/newtamil/ekalappai_1.html (http://www.tamil.net/newtamil/ekalappai_1.html
)

Step 2:

> Open internet explorer.

> Under the menu, TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > FONTS, u choose the web-page front as 'TSC Avarangal' and Language script as 'Tamil'

> As a finishing touch, just ensure that, in the internet explorer, under menu VIEW > ENCODING > MORE > u choose USER DEFINED.

This is ENOUGH to READ tamil posts.

if u r doing these exercises from commercial browsing centers, please do not restart the system, 'coz their recovery tool will wipe away whatever changes u have carried out.

If you would like to go further like WRITING, please seek elaborate guidance from

You can download and install the thamizh-script editor software - "e-kalappai" - which would allow you to type and post in thamizh scripts, from these pages.

* For Help for Installing e-kalappai and configuring the browser - and also links to download e-kalappai, TSCII and Unicode fonts, see here :

* Help for using e-kalappai to write in thamizh in wordpad, MS-Word etc and also to configure outlook express and other e-mail programs to Read/Write thamizh scripts :
