Naaz:

AV -
JA is right. UM is Usha Mangeshkar (with whom VJ has sung marathi duets, none of which I have heard. Have you?)

Programme Note:
I have been gifted with a timely and creative suggestion for the programme tonight. Not knowing how to fill the two hours (talk can be boring after a while) I was in a flux...Now I am not:
The programme would be multilingual - and there will be more songs by VJ, SPB, SJ, Yesudas, PS, Dr. Raj Kumar and others. These will be the prelude and/or the denouement to the conversation. I promise to keep myself to the minimum - just the way I like it!
Naaz,
I can't explain the experience in words-
Thanks a lot for the great prog.
It was a treta to listen-am still listening

Naaz,
Great program. Wonderful presentation. Excellent songs and conversation with VJ.
VJ fans,
A conversation between VJ and Naaz has been uploaded at the website. www.vanijairam.com. Listen to VJ speak about her music and career and sing several songs.
balsat, Neel D -
Thank you for tuning in and saying those nice things! It was an unusual moment for CiTR, too!
I had a few inquiries about VJs latest Magizhampoo Maalaiyile. I've asked those listeners to contact Stonewall Creations (asked them to do a google!!) Balsat might want to give it a shot as well.
Naaz, that was a wonderful conversation. It was very pleasant to listen not only to VJ, but also to you, on radio. I relished VJ's humming of the notes of raaga Dhanyasi. Really a raga of ecstasy!
I also enjoyed the song selection. The two Salilda songs (by PJC and SJ), the duet of the Soolamangalam sisters, and the last song in the programme by VJ "shree gaNanatham bhajaamyaham" were a real delight. I have been humming the last tune for the past several hours. I hadn't heard it before, and I fished it out from the website, and gave it at least four listens. In fact the songs and the programme were great respite for me, in my jam-packed schedule.
Please notify us if you do any more such shows, and hopefully you would do a show entirely on Tamil devotionals by VJ or other renowned artistes.
Thank you once again.
Neel D and Naaz
Thanks for the Interview.
I am one of those IR fans (u may call me Fanatic), who used to not think high of any singer that IR did not repeat in his music Direction. Even though VJ used to sing songs for IR, to me she was still associated with SG/MSV/Chandrabose in those days (except for the brief 84/85 years when SJ took a short trip to Bollywood)..
With age started appreciating the singer and soon started feeling IR did great injustice to this wonderful Tamil Singer..
WOnderful conversation and honest comments. She has not lost her voice/shruthi/bhava a bit. Felt pained to see her recent songs chopped mercilessly. Let the songs chop from Film, why not release them in Audio? Never understand how film world works..
Thanks once again and kudos to both of you.
There used to a duet by TMS-VJ in Vishwaroopam (I think filmed on Sivaji and Sridevi). Any one can advise?
Bala
VJ fans,
Naaz's radio program (a big part of it) has been uploaded at the website.
AV, how could you have missed a classical number like Sri Gananatham this long? So not like you. Glad you caught up. Other songs Naaz played such as Mazhavil Kodi by SJ and Karpoorada by PS are excellent songs too.
balaji, you are welcome.
