கமலஹாசனின் ‘தூங்காவனம்’ படம் தமிழ், தெலுங்கு என இரண்டு மொழிகளில் வெளியாகிறது. இந்த படத்தில் திரிஷா, பிரகாஷ்ராஜ், கிஷோர், யூகிசேது, சம்பத், மது ஷாலினி, சோமசுந்தரம், சந்தானபாரதி, உமா ரியாஸ்கான், ஜெகன் உள்பட பலர் நடித்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

கமலின் திரைக்கதையில் உருவாகி இருக்கும் இந்த படத்தை ராஜேஷ் செல்வா இயக்கி இருக்கிறார். ஒளிப்பதிவு–சானு ஜான்வர்கீஸ். இசை–ஜிப்ரான், பாடல்கள்–வைரமுத்து, வசனம்–சுகா, ஸ்டண்ட்–ரமேஷ், நடனம்–ஷோபி, தூங்காவனத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னையில் நடந்தது. இதில் பேசிய கமலஹாசன், இந்த படம் இரண்டு மொழிகளில் வெளியாக இருக்கிறது. இதுவரை ராஜ்கமல் நிறுவனம் 24 படங்களை ஒரே நேரத்தில் 2 மொழிகளில் தயாரித்து வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

இரு மொழிகளிலும் உள்ள 14 கோடி ரசிகர்களை திருப்திப்படுத்தும் வகையில் இந்த படம் நன்றாக வந்திருக்கிறது. நல்ல படங்களை தொடர்ந்து விரைவாக தர வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்திருக்கிறோம். அடுத்த படத்துக்கு தயாராகி விட்டோம். படப்பிடிப்புக்கு இடங்கள் எல்லாம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு விட்டது. இனி அடுத்தடுத்து படங்கள் வெளியாகும் என்றார்.

விழாவில் பட தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சந்திரஹாசன், ஜார்ஜ் பயாஸ், சித்தாரா சுரேஷ்பாலாஜி மற்றும் இந்த படத்தில் நடித்தவர்கள், தொழில்நுட்ப கலைஞர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். முன்னதாக ‘டிரைலர்’ திரையிடப்பட்டது. இதில் முழுவதும் கமல் கோர்ட்–சூட் அணிந்து அமைதியாக வந்து அமர்க்களப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார்.

கிஷோர், பிரகாஷ்ராஜ் ஆகியோருடன் கமல் மோதும் காட்சிகள் ஆவேசமாக இருந்தன. 10 வயது மகனுக்கு தந்தையாக வந்த கமல், ‘என் மகனுக்கு ஏதாவது ஒன்று என்றால் உங்களை தொலைத்து விடுவேன்’ என்ற வசனம் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளது. ‘நான் சொன்னா அதை செய்வேன்’ என்று பேசும் ‘பஞ்ச்’ டைலாக்கும் இருக்கிறது.

திரிஷா வரும் காட்சிகளில் கமலை காதலிப்பவராகவும், அதை வெளிப்படுத்த முடியாதவராகவும் நடித்து இருக்கிறார். சம்பத், கிஷோர், ஆஷா ஷரத் ஆகியோரும் டிரைலர் காட்சிகளில் வருகிறார்கள். இசை பொருத்தமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது. கமலுக்கு சமமாக பிரகாஷ்ராஜ் வருகிறார். ஒரு கார் விபத்துடன் டிரைலர் காட்சி நிறைவு பெறுகிறது.

நேற்று வெளியான தூங்காவனம் டிரைலர் ரசிகர்களிடம் பெரும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றுள்ளது. டிரைலர் வெளியான 16 மணி நேரத்தில் 4 லட்சத்து 13 ஆயிரத்து 421 பேர் யூடியூப்பில் பார்த்து ரசித்துள்ளனர்.

Like I had mentioned in an earlier comment, I didn't watch the trailer with any expectation ...paatha odane en manasukku pattadha sonnen.....
And I know as to why Kamal has to make certain films to maintain his market ....but that shouldn't be an excuse for one not looking at the movie objectively.....And by the way, just as how me singing paeans on Uttama Villain is not going to make the movie financially viable, me talking about the trailer of thoongavanam isn't going to affect its performance in the box office.....

Trailer is Super and Apt! This is a remake. haasar wud have changed few key elements in the story. and dialogs screenplay totally written new which means this will look somewhat like a new film. all that is ok. this film will surely not only make moolaah but also will be a 100C+ easily. But still, i am not too inclined towards it. this is not a totally fresh script like Dasa or VR or UV. So, let this film have its success, but my heart will wait for Thalaivan Irukkindraan! க்காலி அங்க தான் இருக்கு ஆட்டமே! ;)

I hope it is not just violence and only violence (in the name of Action). If it is, movie will not appeal to a broader section. In the case of VR also, KH commented openly that after the transformation scene, he lost the family audience. He probably made this statement in the context of VR-2, which supposedly had all the other elements.

TV team is already stating that there will be no super-sized action scenes, everything will be very realistic etc. When making an out and out Action movie, why not take some liberties and also reduce the one dimensional focus on violence only? Hope I am proved wrong.

Very doubtful...Just finished watching the original.....While the action is grounded and not too outlandish, there is a good amount of violence especially in certain sequences....Anything lesser than an U/A would be surprising and would warrant a serious watering-down of the original content......

Not sure if he should be restricted that way. Something like Kuruthipunal will be just fine ... VR despite the ban and the violence wouldn't have grossed as much if people didnt throng the theaters. Also doubt if its gonna be all meaning-less violence - he would not do it.

Personally will take this any day to UV's hiranya-naadagam. Sorry, just my preference.

I did not watch the original other than some extended snippets. I think TV will be more or less a straight copy of the original. His dress and craggy beard are all the same.

Kuruthi was quite cynical in its content...It might have run well in a few places but overall was not a big hit. My point is: Why not do an out and out commercial movie? With an interesting screenplay, it will be a super hit.

Anyway, I am not trying to jump the gun. I will wait till TV releases and comment after watching.

Thoongavanam, starring Kamal Haasan, is a milestone project for Trisha. It is her fiftieth film and marks her completion of 15 years in the industry.

“It’s a huge honour for anyone to work with Kamal and for me, it’s happened two times,” said Trisha at the trailer launch of the film. The actress had earlier teamed up with the Ulaganayagan on Manmadhan Ambu.

She added, “There was one particular challenging portion during shoot – I cannot reveal what at the moment – that I could have never done without the help of Kamal sir. Also, I couldn’t have dubbed for the movie without his assistance.”

The film, directed by Rajesh M Selva, is said to be the remake of French movie Sleepless Night. It will also be released in Telugu as Cheekati Raajyam.

Yugi said TV is a family subject/story at the end of the day. yes, its a family subject ONLY at an overview and not a fullfledged. So iam not sure how well it will work beyond certain sections. In any film there has to be an underlying human element. In kuruthippunal there was lot of human emotions. இதுலயும் அதுமாதிரி ஏதாச்சும் இருக்கணும்னு நம்புவோம். whatever it is, the very imp point we need to remember abt this film is, its a filler movie thala did in very short duration. i guess even lesser than the time took for PN. So profit/BO wise there will be no issues. And just cant wait for Nov 7 where he is supposed to announce his next......

not seeking attention but showcasing talent. someone somewhere see something and someone get something sometimes kinda stuff.

when i was working in a bank sometime ago, they had a accelerator program (something like raise in UK and accelerator in NYK) what they do is surf around internet and find talent and invest in them to create a start up then assist them going public if they're successful.. it's a win-win situation for both start up and the bank..

Thoughts on the trailer of 'Thoongavanam'

The trailer of Thoongavanam suggests that the rumours about the film being a remake of Sleepless Night may well be true. There’s the bit where Trisha mentions that she knows Kamal through “Bombay NCB” (Narcotics Control Bureau). There you go; it’s about drugs, like the French film.

Meanwhile, Prakash Raj looks like he plays a tasteless (if his buttoned-down, gaudy suits and the thick gold chain are any indication) rich don, who isn’t too happy with how things are going. In one scene, he is shown storming out of a bar, escorted by henchman Sampath.

Perhaps the most important takeaway from the trailer is how much action there seems to be. Sleepless Night, when released in 2011, received high praise for its breathless action sequences. There’s even a quick reference to the famous kitchen fight in the movie, on evidence of the two-second clip that shows Kamal throwing everything but the, er, kitchen sink at Kishore, who looks menacing with his bald look and handlebar moustache. Expect to see a lot — and I mean a lot — of realistic fight sequences. Expect also to see a lot of trigger-happy gangsters and policemen. I counted at least three shots fired by Kamal. And for good reason, considering that almost everybody, including Prakash Raj, Sampath, Kishore and Trisha, don’t quite seem to be on his side. Who he does have by his side is his Panchathanthiram sidekick Yugi Sethu, who’s often seen loyally trailing behind him. Meanwhile, Kamal-regular Ghibran steps into hard rock territory with searing guitar riffs, in tune with the urban theme of the film.

A lot seems to be at stake for the protagonist, as is evident from a Taken-like moment, when Kamal calmly informs his enemies that if his son, who’s obviously kidnapped, were harmed in any manner, he’d destroy every single one of them. There’s a tiny Rajini moment when he follows that line with: “Naan sonna seiven.” And there’s some poetic irony here, considering that on the day of the trailer’s release — September 16 — the first look of Rajini’s Kabali was released. Phew, Rajini and Kamal on the same day. You can’t make these things up.

^ Certain dialogues have actually been retained as seen from the trailer and same is the case with certain shots. This ones going to be pretty similar to the original with the length of the movie and a few additional scenes being the only changes. Not fiddling too much with the script is a good option in my opinion.
