if it was not MAKKAL THILAGAM !
Audience should feel the song rather than enjoying it ! That is why MGR's philosophical songs were received well by poor like those who pull ricksaws, bullock carts, cobblers etc !
MSV said that initally the lyrics were like
"NAAN ARASANENDRAAL ..........ATHU NADANTHU VITTAAL"
Just tell us WHO WOULD HAVE DONE JUSTICE TO THESE LINES IF IT HAD NOT BEEN MGR
Replace any actor in the place of MGR ! We will be entertained much more than yesteryear comedies !
"Never say that MGR movies ran only for songs, picturisation. There are plenty of movies which became hits just for his appearance irrespective of the picturisation, lyrics etc"
