As far as i Know, Bheema will take the GEM stone of Aswathama by Force, Aswathama would never hand it him self,

Well, I went through many like - Kisari Mohan Ganguly's version, Villibaratham , the tamil version, Rajaji's mahabarath ( especially for the wonderful English ) , the TV serials of B.R.Chopra Mahabarath and Ramanand Sagar's Srikrishna, Vysampayana etc.

I also had many sessions with a person in Sanskrit college , Chennai who enlightened me a lot

I also went through the websites of Iskon


But certain aspects are still not clear to me despite the multiple searches like :

1. Aswathama being granted a boon by Lord Shiva on the 18th day
2. Karna about to kill Arjuna on the evening of day 15

If someone can clarify on the above 2 , it will give a complete picture

I am not a philosopher to argue on this pls :D but if the argument is going to be on the manner in which the Pandavas eliminated the Kauravas, well, I am ready for this. :D

Raghuji,

I doubt this version because many books mention as follows :

Aswathama goes back to Duryodhana and narrates that ALL HAVE BEEN KILLED EXCEPT THE 7 indicating the 5 brothers, Krishna and Satyaki

May be other hubbers can clarify on this pls.

I suggest you read Kisari Mohan Ganguly version .

Mann , terrific description of the great epic.

If you wish to have a crisp version with fantastic english on it, please read Sri Rajaji's Vyasar virundhu.

I am not sure whether the above are available in London.

Its the great Chakravarthy Sri Rajaji's write up on Mahabaratha .
I believe it was quite popular 30 years before and appeared in Kalki magazine.

After comparing this version with other bigger versions, I realized that this is an excellent capture of the GIANT OF AN EPIC in a decent crisp form.

At times, Rajaji adds his thoughts also which adds more flavour to the epic .

Above all, Rajaji's command over English is something astonishing :D

The same link can be used to read Rajaji's Ramayana also :D

My parents paid money to buy this book some 30 years back but now its in web. :D

I am able to imagine your enormous efforts and the extra-ordinary pains taken to shape it... by gathering from various sources.

But on seeing some of your informations... I have never heard of anywhere... I doubt whether they are authentic.

Even the TV Mahabharatha is not wholly authentic... being a combination of Fiction with Truth. The Author admits in the Title that it has been compiled from several Mahabharathas of various Indian-Languages...

Most of the Regional Language versions are the deviations here and there... from the Original Vyasa-Bharatha... suiting to the authors' own imaginations.

However You have presented enough SEEDS for future discussions....in a VERY VALUABLE SENSE....

... towards a HEALTHY DIRECTION... and ULTIMATE ANSWERS AND SOLUTIONS...

..On many many Controversial points and Unravelled justifications

... FOR THE ADVANTAGE OF HUMANITY.... facing perplexing personalities.

Mahabharatha... in brief... is an EPIC OF REALITY.!!!
