I'm not sure how & from what panangarkandu is made of... So,will not be able to comment on this... I use raw sugar(brown) or karumbu sakkarai insted of white sugar...caloriw wise,not much difference but a lot less processing & chemicals,making it a healthier choice...also ,I make it a point to buy the costly sugar in the market(around $5 per 500gms) so that I always think twice before using sugar... Believe me,this has helped me take control over making sweets too often... :wink: :lol:
