So this is how laborious other Nolan films felt for others is it?
Sort of.
Batman after Catwoman disappears "So this is how it feels".
The whole trilogy is overrated. But... Joker is Art. Imagine Joker repeating that after me, 'Art' with his head tilted down, mock and lure me to punch him, then he'd grab me by the throat and get his phone call.
I thought Bane didn't transcend any more than a one-noted menace. Poor Hardy, not to blame him. There's only so much you could do with that kind of a role.
Just to clarify : this has nothig to do with TDKR based expectation.
Even by itself, it's a tedious movie.
The joker was great I course
The dent-Wayne, needing to be a symbol, need to be more than human, the sacrifices etc
All came out very well in TDK.
I don't think I've ever liked a superhero movie like that. Well told.
PR, did/do you actually care about the background, details, history, characterization (:rotfl2:) of Batman and other characters? So padatha paakkarakku idhellaam therinjukkanum, right? What exactly is the point of these films? (1,2,3 whatever)? Indha superhero characters vechu social behavior human nature pathi commentary, critique? Isn't there anyone else who finds this just an age old an annoying American/Hollywood exercise? Is everybody so invested in all this? I mean, to tolerate/enjoy the staple action film features and aspects for clever plot twists, dialogues etc? Is all this profound or meant to be profound?
Simble-a kekkanumna idhoda adi naadham enna? Saw ur tweet about the justice dispensation by the people @ French revolution. Director saar enna solla varaaru?
(Btw, Nolar-a sollalaam sir, perusa padam edukka vendaam, small and tight, local etc....)
People who like it for action, clever dialogues, fast screenplay etc etc ok, adhu Vera topic.... (can't for the life of me understand how THAT makes this series or Nolar worthy of such lofty worship, ennamo poda)
The pit scenes. WTF were those?
It is not at all as bad as how so many people claim. It is certainly better than Begins.
How many of us know Batman for longtime? I mean from the comics. I went to the movie with one two such friends....and from the vibe, I understand that this movie is emotionally connecting to Batman fans than dark knight...
Only thing that I found silly was a twist towards the climax.Other than that, I liked everything...... I liked Batman better in this movie than in Tdk. It nullifies any the comparison between bane and joker. It had an wonderful build up to Batman and executed it cleanly... I started watching Batman only in movies and not from the comics. This is the movie that made me a Batman fan...not the dark knight. I liked dark knight for joker....
It is a fitting end to the 'Batman' trilogy...
Bala,
You should have listened to the claps when Wayne meets cat after escaping from the pit. Oru ultimate hero of a town, gets back from such a drudgery and meets heroini ..... instant clap worthy and hair risingnga
Same here,Saai. I didnt watch it a friend but the person next to me was a fan of the comics. In interval, he said Nolan brought the exact feel that the comics used to give him. He also used some unparliamentary words when remembering the old Batman films. I have seen a couple too. The one with Arnie as villain and the other with Carrey.
Oh yeah.
He goes beyond fighting petty thieves.
What is crime? What is the other side? Tom Wilkinson is easy to see.
But Liam Neeson's line is 'all this is total decadence, that should come down'
One doesn't actually disagree with him but only stands on the tenuous thin once that nobody can decide from the outside.
Justice v Revenge ellAm beginsla beautifullA irukkum.
TDK is another level: the conversation about the limitations of democracy when there are enemies at te gates, the need to be a symbol beyond fallibility, and then the symbol taking the fall. All were extremey well done.
I am not a monster, I am just ahead of the curve - ellAm totally sensible.
The joker gets how Batman is also perceived as a freak and the cops ('friends' ) will turn on him soon.
The loneliness comes out exceedingly well.
Not just that. No corporate profits, then no way to take care of orphans-aamaam.Quote:

Total sodhappal.
Dropped the ball here.
Batman yaarunnE theriyAdhu.
I know only these films. Boring.
Hathway better looking than the earlier ladies, but boring anyway.
The batbike was good, two 90 degree turns. The bat was hohum. Video games.
For comic book or animated series fan, that twist is shitty-nga. So I yam interested who are these friends who liked this film.
And, not to sound smug, twist wasn't that big a surprise.
'I trust you'nu sollumbodhE alaram adichiruchu.
I hear you are looking for men- la confirm aayiruchu
Even emotionally, this film's a huge let down, no?
For comic fans, Holly-Kyle aside, Bane-Batman physical confrontation aside, onnum illingalE.
Holly the other roommate girl who is all over Kyle, who takes care of her.. I'm assuming much more of her had been shot and left on the cutting room. She's to Catwoman what Robin is to Batman.
Holly or Jen?
Here she's called Jen..
Paaravala.
TDK >>>>> TDKR but that was to be expected. Same goes for Joker to Bane. One has to believe that Nolan was restricted severely by this film. I cannot put the previous sentence in words exactly but that's what I feel. Even the action scenes are jaded and uninteresting. I mean in TDK you have this opening bank job, the tunnel chase, the prison escape and the hospital blowup. I mean scenes were first of a kind and extremely interesting but in this film that was not the case. Eppada stunt ellam mudiyum ngra madhiri irukku. And still he has a fetish for aero plane stunts.
And you had good confrontational scenes in TDK. TDK had good dialogs too. Pr can write more on this. I can't remember one good dialog here. 2nd half is mainly inspired by the score. P_r always asks how scores help films, well there you go. I can't imagine this film w/o this score. Hathaway was better. Levitt was a relief and Oldman was good as usual. Felt sorry for Hardy as an actor of good worth has been wasted.
To Ra al ghul and pamily: yenda ulagathula azhikka vera oore kedayadha??. :fatigue: Indha bangalore madras ellam consider pannalame. Now I have to watch TDK again.
It's good that the Batman franchise is done and dusted. Nolan is a victim of his own success.
. ok yuvar aanar.
Wikipedia la already full plot padichuttu thaan ponen .. the movie was interesting and kept us engaged through out, though there were not many wow scenes .. ending thaan angels and demons aayiduchu ..
"Every Great Story deserves a Great Ending and 'The Dark Knight Rises' is our Attempt to give that GREAT story, a GREAT ENDING."
- Christopher Nolan.
TDKR is doing well in Chennai multiplexes. From Santham, it has been shifted to the main screen Sathyam. In PVR, the biggest screen (Audi 3) is showing the movie from today.
Watched this movie yesterday in AGS, Navalur... liked it though I had not seen the first two parts but read the plot in wiki to know the characters... athanAla thAn climax'la oru emotional connect varalennu nenaikkaEn..

Watchmen (The Ultimate Cut).
Rewarding experience. Was intense and very well VFXed. Enjoyed it, as much as X-Men.
