A fewdays back saw, “ Vanangamudi “ in Sirippoli channel for a while (have seen it years back during its re-release @ Mekala theatre) but, now I’m going to share my views about Pasamalar!

After watching those two great actors as the immortal, dearest brother and sister ever portrayed in CINEMA, it has become impossible for me to see them as couples indulging in romance in films like Vanangamudi, Rathathilagam, Annayin aanai etc. Of course, Thiruvilayadal is an exception and we all know the reason :) .

It is strange, and I know that they are just actors and it’s just a movie and that I should not be too sentimental. But, the impact of Pasamalar is so intense that I just can’t imagine them as couples. Hope most of you share the same sentiment here.

The BoX -Office Success and stats of NT's films are bind-blowing.

We are able to know more milestones and records by this legendary actor through this HUB.
And One more thing I want to know is whether there were any Producers who Celebrated/felicitated on the success of the movies.
I once heard in an old NAGESH Interview in TV that They had a Success function for THIRUVILAIYAADAL where NAGESH was not Invited due to some mis-understanding with someone from that Team :( .
* Today few movies simply celebrate 100 Days Function/150 Days function, without making any Impact on the viewers :lol: .
I think then all the old NT movies should have witnessed such success function [ VETRI VIZHA ] :thumbsup: :notworthy: .

Nadigar Thilagam's BO achievements are not only mind blowing but unsurpassed till date. No other actor in the history of Tamil cinema had given so many hits and his records remain unbroken. We have a seperate thread for the BO success of NT movies which is there in Tamil films classics section.

Regarding the vetri vizhas, yes they celebrated the 100th days and 25th weeks in a grand manner throughout Tamilnadu. The 100th day or Silver jublie function used to be celebrated not only in Chennai but in Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore etc. The artists and technicians used to visit the respective theatres where the movie had been running and appear on the stage before the audience. This not only helped the theatres in other locations but also gave a chance for the audience to see their favourite actors/actresses in flesh and blood, which otherwise would not have been possible.
