Today's pick is one of LRE's early songs. Though her part is short she holds her own against the other three singers who had already established themselves in the industry. She was credited as Rajeswari in the titles. This song predates her first big hit "vArAi en thOzi". LRE also sang "UrAr uRanggaiyilE" for the film Naalu veli Nilam and "oRRumaiyAi vAzvathAlE" for Bagappirivinai, both in 1959. And may be a very few other songs in 1959 and 1958. Once vArAi en thOzi hit the airwaves there was no stopping her. She climbed to the top faster than most of the other singers.
The song shows that boys and girls teasing each other can be clean, reformative and fun. But it was a different time when there was still some innocence in the art of film. One might disagree that innocence or the loss of it is just perception. Who knows, they could be right.:huh: Because the all so innocent sounding LRE (in today's song) transformed into probably the sexiest singer ever in TFM within the next five years and sang some of the raunchiest lyrics. So, what is all this innocence we are talking about? May be it was just a shell. And it broke when the time came. May be the innocence was never there to be lost later. Just that the lack of innocence was uncovered at some point. Or, something like that. That is enough contemplation for today.:lol:
